I'm Seeing Stars!

Well, only on this card really. My middle son is off to a birthday party after school today so of course he wanted a card for his friend. He really liked the one a made a few months ago with the Dirt Biker Stamp so he wanted me to use it again. For this card he picked the colors Real Red, Brilliant Blue (retiring color) and Whisper White, true patriotic colors. The card is pretty easy so I will just list the supplies needed.
Brilliant Blue Card Stock, Real Red Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Real Red Classic Stamp Pad, Brilliant Blue Classic Stamp Pad, Starring You Stamp Set, Extreme Dirt Bike Stamp, Real Red 1/2" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, SNAIL adhesive and Stampin' Dimensionals.
Just a quick reminder that today is the last day to order from the Occasions Mini Catalog. If you would like to place an order please email me and I will call you with a total later tonight. The Summer Mini start tomorrow and I have some new samples to show you from it so be sure and check back after tomorrow. If you would like to receive a copy of the Summer Mini please contact me and I would be happy to get you a copy. Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you come back again, Tonya

Greenhouse Garden Take 2

Hello again, yes two post in one day. How odd is that? Ok don't answer that, please. While making the scrapbook page from the last post I went ahead and stamped a Whisper White Strip of Card Stock with a card in mind and after I wrote the last post I had a few minutes so I whipped up this card. I used the same basic supplies just a few different card stock colors but ink colors are the same. I really like how the black looks with the bright colors it really makes them pop. The set is a 2 step stamping set and it is easy to use. If you would like to purchase it remember that if you place your order before Friday the set is 20% off. What a great sale. Supplies used are:
Summer Sun Card Stock, Bermuda Bay Card Stock, Basic Black Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Black Staz on Ink, Orchid Opulence Classic Stamp Pad, Bermuda Bay Classic Stamp Pad, Pixie Pink Classic Stamp Pad, Summer Sun Classic Stamp Pad, Greenhouse Garden Stamp Set and All Holidays Stamp Set. That is it for today. I am off to pick up my kids from school and after my daughter's track practice we have two baseball games. See you tomorrow, Tonya

Greenhouse Garden 20% Off

Good morning, this is going to be a quick post as I need to be at school shortly. In my last post I mentioned that I had a few ideas for projects and this is one of them. The stamp set I used is Greenhouse Garden and it is on sale until Friday for just $20.76. I have been looking at this set since I saw it in the current catalog but waited until this month to purchase it. I just couldn't pass up 20% off. This is a 6 x 6 scrapbook page, all I need to add is a picture and a little journaling and this page is done. I decided to use four of the retiring colors and I love the bold look of the black with the colors. So my list of supplies are:
Greenhouse Garden Stamp Set, Bermuda Bay Card Stock, Bermuda Bay Classic Stamp Pad, Pixie Pink Card Stock, Pixie Pink Classic Stamp Pad, Summer Sun Classic Stamp Pad, Orchid Opulence Classic Stamp Pad, Basic Black 5/8" Satin Ribbon, Whisper White Card Stock, Curly Label Punch, Stampin' Up! Movers and Shapers Curly Label Big Shot Die, SNAIL and Stampin' Dimensionals. If you would like to order this stamp set before the sale ends you can either email me your order (I will place an order on Friday for anyone interested) or you can order online. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Tonya

Hugs for Mom!

Good evening, I got a chance to stamp today between my many trips to school. I am so proud of the kindergarten class. They preformed two short plays today for their families and the other students and they did a wonderful job. I got to help with costumes and they kids just really shined today. Now back to today's card. After posting the list of Occasions Items that are still available I decided to use some of the items to make my card. I haven't used the Hugs Sending Love Notes much but they are perfect for cards. They are already scalloped and a great size at 2 1/4 x 4". I started with one and stamped Wonderful Mother from the Well Scripted Stamp Set and the Swirls from Priceless Stamp Set with Chocolate Chip Classic Stamp Pad. I used the Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch to make the flower on the Hugs Note. I punched out six flowers from the Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. I added a Pretty in Pink Sending Love Epoxy Brad to the center then scrunched the flowers up to give it depth. Now this card is not one that you can send in the mail but it does make a nice card to give Mom in person. A layer of Pretty in Pink Card Stock was added behind the Hugs Sending Love Note after I rounded the corners. For the base of the card I used Chocolate Chip Card Stock that was texturized with the Stampin'Up! Perfect Polka Dot Impressions Folder. I added a strip of Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper on the left side and a piece of Chocolate Chip 5/8" Satin Ribbon to finish off the card then added the Hugs Love Note to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. If my count is correct I used seven items from the Occasions Mini not to bad if I do say so myself. Tomorrow I am going to use the Greenhouse Garden Stamp Set that is on sale for 20% Off. Hopefully I will have something to share with you afterward. Well, I am off to spend some time with my kids, we have a free evening which for us is a rarity. I hope you enjoyed today's card and thanks for stopping by. I hope you can by again. Tonya

Green Post!

You may be looking at the title of this post and wondering what is Tonya thinking? This milk carton isn't green. Well I don't actually mean the color green but rather green in recycling. With yesterday being Earth Day I looked around my craftroom and noticed all the uncompleted projects and scraps of card stock. Please tell me I am not the only one that will stamp something then not like how it looks but I just can't throw it away so there is sets. Sometimes I use the back or sometimes I find another use for it but most times it just gets added to the pile. Today I started going through the pile and found this Melon Mambo Milk Carton made with the Stampin'Up! Mini Milk Carton Bigz XL Die. The milk carton was already assembled and ready to decorate now to move onto more scraps. The Whisper White Card Stock Lattice was cut and left over from another project. Two pieces were the perfect size to go around the milk carton. I had some scraps of Old Olive Card Stock setting out and they were the perfect size to punch out a few leaves with the Extra Large Two Step Bird Punch. The flower is also made with the Extra Large Two Step Bird Punch and some leftover pieces of Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper. The Flower is the birds wing put together with the point facing inward. I used Mini Glue Dots to hold them together. I added a Summer Sun Corduroy Button to the center of the flower. I like the bright cheering look it gives the flower. The flower was attached with a Pop Up Glue Dot. To finish off the Milk Carton I add the White Library Clip. This allows for each access to the treats inside. I will have to see what other items I can create just from the scraps setting around my craftroom and maybe I will actually clean it a little bit in the process. The Mini Milk Carton and Extra Large Two Step Bird will continue to be available after the Occasions Mini ends this month. See the post below to see what other items will be available after April 30. Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a great weekend, Tonya

New Birthday Wheels!

The Summer Mini has been arriving in mailboxes so I thought I would start sharing some of the cards I have made with the new products. This card is one that we made at the Hostess Appreciation Night. I haven't used my wheels much. I get them maybe use them on a project but then I forget about them and the set. Is anyone else guilty of this? Please tell me yes as I would hate to be the only one. Well, Stampin'Up! has is introducing a new take on the wheels. Instead of one single jumbo wheel you have the option of adding one, two or three Builder wheels to make the design of your choice. I really like the option I used on this card with one wheel at the top and the bottom and a space between for the ribbon. This was so easy to accomplish with the new wheels. You just add one wheel then the spacer then the second wheel and roll like usual. The other super neat think is that we now have three cell jumbo cartridges so that you can make your own color combos for inking up your wheels. This is a fun idea and since I only bought one three cell cartridge I haven't inked mine yet because I can't decide what colors I want to use first. There are just two many color combos available so I would definitely get more than one on May 1st so that you can do more than one color combo. The base of the card is Melon Mambo Card Stock which will be a In Color that is moving into the Brights Collection on July 1st. Then I paired it with Night of Navy and Brocade Blue. Now Brocade Blue will be retiring so if you love this color please don't forget to stock up on card stock, a reinker and teh 5/8" Grograin Ribbon. The wheels for this project are called Birthday Day and So Many Stars. I used the Melon Mambo Classic Ink Pad to ink the wheels and rolled them across the Whisper White Card Stock. I added a layer of Night of Navy Card Stock behind the Whisper White Card Stock. The tag is made with the new stamp set July Fourth. It is really hard to see in this picture but there are stars added to the base of the card with Versamark. The firecracker in this set make perfect birthday candles. I inked up the firecracker three different times and stamped with Melon Mambo, Night of Navy and Brocade Blue Classic Stampin' Pads. The flame was made with the Five Petal Punch and So Saffron Card Stock. You punch out one Flower then insert one petal back in and punch again to give you the flame. The flames were attached with Mini Glue Dots and then 2 Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds was added to give it some sparkle. The Scallop is from the Pennant Bigz Xl Die, the Big Shot and Brocade Blue Card Stock. If you would like to order the supplies to make this card be sure and let me know May 1st when they become available or if you would like to make this card at your workshop contact me and we will schedule a date.
I am also excited to share with you that I will be attending Convention this year in Salt Lake City. I really enjoyed myself last year and learned so much that I was able to share with my customers. If you would like to attend Convention also all you need to do is signup to be a demonstrator and then you can join me. Contact me if you would like more information about becoming a demonstrator. Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you came back again, Tonya

Emboss Resist

Hello! I have been working on a lot of different Embossing Techniques and this is one that I learned a few years ago at Stampin'Up!'s Regional Event that was held in Kansas City. It is called Emboss Resist on Designer Series Paper and is really easy to do. First you will need a piece of Designer Series Paper. I chose the Almost Amethyst Sheet from the Tea Party DSP Collection. Then you will need a stamp or stamps that are solid images, Heat Tool, Versamark, Clear Embossing Powder, Sponger or Sponge Dauber and Classic Ink to coordinate with your Designer Series Paper. I used Almost Amethyst Classic Ink for this card. You ink up your stamp or stamps with the Versamark and Stamp on your Designer Series Paper, pour the Clear Embossing Powder on the Versamark, shake off the excess and emboss with the Heat Tool. After the embossing has cooled you will use your sponge or sponge dauber (I prefer the daubers as I find my fingers don't get as inky with them) to sponge the Classic ink around and on your embossed image. After you get the look you like you can wipe off any excess ink with a paper towel. The embossed areas with resist the ink and allow the Designer Series Paper images to show through. This paper is fairly subtle but you can see the images through the embossed area. I used the Medallion Stamp for my embossing. It is a great stamp for this technique. I also used the Happy Birthday from the Whimsical Words Stamp Set and the 1 3/4" Circle Punch to punch the sentiment out. The Whimsical Words Stamp Set is only available until the end of the month so if you would like to purchase it please contact me or your demonstrator soon. The card was finished off with a little Whisper White Organza Ribbon. I love how light and simple the card looks with just the Whisper White and the Almost Amethyst. Remember Almost Amethyst is one of the Retiring Colors so if you love this color please place your orders early for a Reinker and card stock as after June 1 is will be only while supplies last.
Well, we have another baseball game tonight this time for my oldest son. The younger two had their first game last night and while they lost by one run they both played well and had fun. I really enjoy watching my kids do any sport as I think most mom's do and I of course love to take pictures so I will try and share a few of the boys in action before to long. Have a great day and thank you for stopping by, Tonya

Fifth Avenue Floral 20% Off

Good evening, hope you are all enjoying a great weekend. The weather was a little cooler today but at least it was sunny. :) The cards I am sharing with you today are not new but I love the technique and stamp set and since it is on sale for 20% off this month I thought I would share. When is comes to embossing techniques the Shimmer Paper Watercoloring in my opinion provides a great WOW factor and it is so easy. I inked up the rose from the Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set with Versamark then embossed with White Embossing Powder. I used Shimmer Paper for this. After heat embossing you spray your card stock with water then using the Aquapainter and Reinkers you color in your image. I usually cut the flowers out after they dry then use them for my cards. I made these two beauties Mother's Day cards last year and one uses one of the returning In Colors, Riding Hood Red! I liked this color last year and am happy to have it back. Both layouts are similar just different colors. On the top card I used Riding Hood Red and Pretty In Pink Reinkers and on the second card I used So Saffron and Summer Sun Reinkers. At least that is what I think I used, I can't remember exactly and it has been almost a year. The Happy Mother's Day is from the All Holiday's Stamp Set. If you are interesting in purchasing the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set the price is just $19.96 until the end of the month. I would be happy to help you place your order and if you are local I will combine orders to save on shipping and if you would like to learn how to make these beautiful flowers I would be happy to teach you. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend, Tonya

Wow, Designer Series Paper Gift Bags!

Check out this cool Gift Bag. Do you know what it is made of? Well if you guessed two 12 x 12 Sheets for Designer Series Paper then you are correct. I found these directions on our Demonstrator Website. One of the great things about being a Demonstrator is all the ideas, templates and projects that are available for us online. If you have ever considered becoming a demonstrator now is a great time. In addition to all the wonderful items you get in your Starter Kit now through May 31 if you sign up to become a Demonstrator you will also receive 2 Free Workshop Wow DVDs. These DVDs are have lots of great techniques for you to use at your workshop and classes, or you can just use the ideas on your personal projects. Also if you sign up now it isn't to late to attend Convention in July. I attended my First Convention last year and it is a absolute blast. I loved it and learned so much that has helped me with my Stampin'Up! business. I made new friends and got lots of great swaps that I was able to share with my friends and customers all year long. If you are interested in becoming a demonstrator and joining my team it is as easy as going to my website. You will need a code which is stampwithtonya to sign up. Oh and one more thing did I mention that we get sneak peaks and other great rewards just for being demonstrators. Also if you join my team this month I will make you your own Scallop Square Purse that you can use for carrying supplies, catalogs, Mini Catalogs or stamping projects. I would love to have you join my team! Now back the bag, I have often times designed a birthday card with Designer Series Paper then been disappointed when I didn't have a bag to match, but with just two sheets of Designer Series Paper, I can be sure that my card matches my bag. The paper I used on this bag is retired but any of our wonderful 12 x 12 papers will work and since they are double sided the inside of the bag is a pretty as the outside. I used the Tart n Tangy Stamp Set and the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set to make the Gift Tag. I used the Real Red Stampin' Write Marker and the Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker to ink up the Cherries then used the Basic Gray Classic Stamp Pad for the sentiment. I used the Scallop Die 2 and the Big Shot to make the Real Red Card Stock Base. I ran it through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot Impressions Folder to add the cute dots then used the White Gel Pen to accent all the dots. I used the Circle Scissor Plus and Old Olive Card Stock to make the layer behind the stamped image. This was popped up with a Dimensional then added to the gift bag with Crochet Thread. If I was using this bag for a gift I would also stamp the cherry image onto my tissue bag to coordinate with the bag. Well what do you think is this cute or what and with one package of Designer Series Paper you can make 6 bags. That is a great deal! Well, I had a wonderful evening with some of my Hostesses for this past quarter. For those of you that couldn't attend we missed you and Thank you again for hosting a workshop. I am already making plans for my next Hostess Appreciation Night which will be in July. If you would like to attend all you need to do is host a workshop during April, May or June. I will post the two cards we did later this month since they both used new stamp sets that aren't available until next month in the new Summer Mini. There are some fun new products in the Mini that would be so fun for a workshop including a new Fourth of July set with coordinating wheel. Be sure and watch your mailboxes for yours. Thanks for stopping by and please came by again, Tonya

More Awash with Flowers

Well, after a rainy track meet we are home for the evening and the sad part is that we didn't get to finish the meet. If only the lightening had held off a little while longer. Tonight I wanted to share with you our second club project. This card sketch is from Heather Summer's Sketch Challenge. I really enjoy her blog and check it out everyday. I wanted to show case the new stamp set Awash with Flowers and some of the retiring colors. So after seeing Heather's Sketch I decided to combine them all and this is the result. I started a base of Kraft Card Stock which will now be Crumb Cake Card Stock. I used the Big Shot Top Note Die and the Big Shot to make a Almost Amethyst Card Stock Top Note for the card. Then I added a layer of Cameo Coral Card Stock. I stamped with Basic Gray Classic Stamp Pad for the outline of the flowers. Then I used the Apricot Appeal Stampin' Write Marker and the Mellow Moss Stampin' Write Marker to ink up the large flower. I used the Mellow Moss Classic Stamp Pad for the leaves, Almost Amethyst Classic Stamp Pad for the medium flower and the Cameo Coral Classic Stamp Pad for the three small flowers. I added the paper piercing to the top left hand corner to balance the card although I considered leaving it off and decided against it. The Happy Mother's Day is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set stamped in Basic Gray Classic Ink on Whisper White Card Stock then punched out with the Word Window Punch. The layer behind the sentiment is a Modern Label Punch made from Apricot Appeal Card Stock. To finish off the card I added a knotted piece of Mellow Moss 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon. The Ribbon was added with a Mini Glue Dot. The Apricot Appeal, Mellow Moss, Cameo Coral and the Almost Amethyst are all Stampin'Up! Colors that will be retiring on June 30, but if you would like to be sure that you get them please order before June 1st to insure that it is still available.
Thank you for stopping by today, if you have a project you would like to see me do whether it is a sewing project or a stamping project I would love to hear from you. Tomorrow I will be working with some of the new Summer Mini items. Watch your mailboxes for yours. 'Til next time, Tonya

Embossed Butterflies!

Hello, I am so glad you stopped by today. I have a card to share with you today that is for my upcoming Embossing Class. If you haven't signed up yet, then just drop me a note and you can still come. If the night doesn't work for you but you are interested let me know and I will work on a second night and time. I was so happy to find out that the Rich Razzleberry would soon be added to our collection of colors. This is one of the In Colors that I really love and would have been so sad to see it leave. This card features Dry Embossing which I achieved with two different Big Shot items, but lets start with the base. I used Rich Razzleberry Card Stock then a layer of Whisper White Card Stock that I stamped the vine from Baroque Motifs Stamp Set with Old Olive Classic Stamp Pad. Then I stamped the Happy Birthday from the Whimsical Words Stamp Set (this is a set that is available in Clear or Wood Mount until the end of this month) with the Rich Razzleberry Classic Stamp Pad. I used the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper to cut out the butterflies. I used both the Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and the Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die. The Bigz Die is not textured but I added some with Stampin' Up! Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder. You can see the Polka Dots on the largest butterfly. The Embosslits Die is already textured so all I had to do was add the butterflies with Mini Glue Dots. The two largest butterflies have "bodies" that I added by cutting tiny strips of Card Stock and wrapping around the center. To finish off the card I added the 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon and tied a square knot. I hope you enjoyed today's post and that you come back again. I have quite a few other projects ready to share with you as I have been busy stamping. Have a great day, Tonya

Monkeys, Turtles and Giraffes Oh, my!

We have our Monthly Club meeting tonight and since this is the final month to order from the Occasions Mini I thought I should show one more stamp set off. When the mini came out I just knew I had to get this set called Fox and Friends. I love how cute and fun the animals are and it is really perfect for so many occasions. Today's card really doesn't have a specific occasion in mind but it would work for a birthday card or even a new baby card. I could also give it to my kindergartner when he graduates. Anyway back to the card. I stared with a base of So Saffron Card Stock and used the 3/16" Corner Rounder on the bottom corners. I then added the Designer Series Paper (I rounded the corners of the Designer Series Paper also) from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack. This Stack has a lot of fun papers! I really need to use it more before the end of the month. I do hope we have more fun prints like this in the new Catalog and Idea Book that will be coming out in July. I stamped the three animals on Whisper White Card Stock with the following Ink colors. Turtle- Old Olive Classic Stamp Pad, Monkey- Chocolate Chip Classic Stamp Pad, Giraffe- So Saffron Classic Stamp Pad. I also used the Family Phrases Stamp Set and stamped the love you much with Chocolate Chip Classic Stamp Pad. I then punched out all the images with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and layered them on So Saffron Card Stock, Chocolate Chip Card Stock and Old Olive Card Stock punched out with the Scallop Circle Punch. The Scallop Circles are added to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. No card is complete without a few dimensionals. ;) I added the wonderful 5/8" Satin Old Olive Ribbon to finish off the card. I hope you enjoyed today's card and remember time is running out to place your Occasions Mini Orders. If you are interested in placing an order it is as easy as going to my website or giving me a call. I will be happy to help you if you don't currently have a demonstrator. Your order can be shipped anywhere in the US. Have a great day and as always thank you for stopping by, Tonya

Awash with Apricot!

Since the announcement of the Color Renovation, I have been trying to use more of the colors that will soon be retiring. Now I will be the first to admit that these are not colors I tend to use often, some occasionally but not by any means often. So I decided to start with Apricot Appeal I do like these color and at one time used it quite a bit but not recently. I wanted to pair it with a purple color and chose Almost Amethyst. The stamp set that I used is the new sneak peak set Awash with Flowers that is available this month either for order or you can earn it free for hosting a workshop of $350 or more. Awash with Flowers is a two step stamping set. I started the card by stamping the solid image larger flower and the line image of the same flower inked with the Apricot Appeal Classic Stamp Pad randomly on the Apricot Appeal Card Stock. Then I added a layer of Almost Amethyst Card Stock that had the corners rounded with our 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch. The Scalloped Whisper White Card Stock was made with the Big Shot and the Clear Scallop Square Die. I used the Basic Gray Classic Stamp Pad to stamp the flower image and stem. Then I stamped the solid portion of the flower and leaves with the Almost Amethyst Classic Stamp Pad and the Mellow Moss Classic Stamp Pad. I added a knotted piece of Apricot Appeal Grosgrain 1/4" Ribbon. The for you sentiment is from the All Holidays Stamp Set, it was stamped with the Basic Gray Classic Stamp Pad on Whisper White Card Stock then punched out with the Small Oval Punch and added to the card with Mini Glue Dots. Tomorrow night is Stamp Club and we will be using this stamp set for one of our projects if you would like to attend please contact me and I will be happy to cut extra supplies for you.
Remember all of the colors used on this card with the exception of Whisper White will be retiring at the end of June. I would encourage you to stock up on card stock and purchase a reinker if these are colors that you regularly use or really love. Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you came back again. Happy Stampin', Tonya

Card Clutch

Hello all, as I sit here in the sun enjoying this beautiful day I am thankful for wireless internet that allows me to work and enjoy the outside. Whatever did we do before we had wireless, I know I either didn't work or I didn't enjoy the day with the kids. I mentioned in my last post that I had a birthday party Friday at my house for a wonderful birthday girl. The girls made cards but we wanted something special for them to put their card in to take home so the birthday girl's mom asked if I could sew something for the cards. I of course am always up for a challenge and came up with these Card Clutches. Now they will be perfect for the girls to use to hold a school supplies or makeup or other items that girls like to carry but for Friday they held their four cards and envelopes. They were all the same and I picked the fun fabric because the birthday girl really likes butterflies. The Clutch is held shut with Velco. It consist of just 12 Scallop Squares. You sew two together to make the inside and out nice and pretty. There is batting between the layers to make it a little more sturdy. After making it I started thinking it would make a great sunglasses holder or if it was just a little smaller it would be great for a camera or cell phone. Well, I am going to go back to enjoying the wonderful weather and time with the kids before I need to go and make dinner and give baths. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and be sure and stop by again for another stamping projects. 'Til next time, Tonya

A Kaleidoscope of Friends!

Good evening, what a beautiful day we had today. It was so pretty so I spent the day outside working in my flower beds getting them cleaning them up and just soaking in the sun. I thought I would share this card with you before I went off to bed. This is one of the cards that we made for the birthday party that was held at my house last night. We had 10 girls here and they made four cards each. The birthday girl loves the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper and also butterflies so I used stamp sets that had butterflies on each card. This card uses the stamp set Friends Rock. I started with a base of Summer Sun and stamped butterflies across the top with the Summer Sun Classic Stamp Pad. I added a layer of Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper that I punched with the Scallop Edge Punch across the top. I stamped the Hey, Friend on Whisper White Card Stock with the Basic Gray Classic Stamp Pad and used the Blender Pens and Summer Sun Classic Stamp Pad, Pixie Pink Classic Stamp Pad and Tempting Turquoise Classic Stamp Pad to color in the Hey, Friend. I used the Corner Rounder on the bottom right corner then layered the Whisper White Card Stock onto Tempting Turquoise Card Stock, then Pixie Pink Card Stock that also have the lower corner rounded. I hope the girls enjoyed making the card last night. I know that I enjoyed having them here and sharing my love of stamping with them. It is one of the best things about being a demonstrator, getting to share what I love with the young and young at heart. I hope you have a great weekend, I am hoping to squeeze in some stamping but if the day is a beautiful tomorrow as it was today then I can't make any promises. I do hope you stop by again. Thanks, Tonya

Messenger Bag!

I have been sewing again and I am super excited about the messenger bag that I am sharing with you today. Last week I mentioned that I had a project that I had completed and couldn't share and this is it. I was asked to make this for a birthday girl and I really wasn't sure what I was going to make until I started it. I was asked to make a messenger style bag with a longer strap that would hit about waist length. One of the things I added to this bag is the flap that allows it to close and also it is reversible yes reversible! How cool is that. I added buttons on the inside and out so that it can easily be closed. The bag is of course made with the Square Scallop Die and the Big Shot. There are 22 squares in the purse so you need to cut out 44 total because each is double sided. This is a great size for a every day bag or for a teenager. You can see from the pictures that one side is smooth and the other has the scalloped edge that will fray as you wash it. Both are a different look for your different moods. which do you prefer? If you would like a messenger bag of your own contact me and I will be happy to make one for you.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today and let me know if you have an idea for a bag. I love a challenge and will be happy to give your idea a try. Now back to more stamping, Tonya

Bold and Bright Flight of the Butterfly

Good morning, busy day for me but I did want to share this card that I made yesterday in preparation for a birthday party I have this week. The birthday girl loves the Bright and Bold colors so I pulled out some of the soon to be retiring colors for this card. I used Pixie Pink, Pink Passion, Summer Sun and Only Orange for the ink colors. The base of the card is Only Orange and I have added a layer of Summer Sun Card Stock across the bottom of the card. I used the Eyelet Border Punch on the Summer Sun layer and it is hard to see in this picture but on the lower right corner I have stamped Friend to Friend from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set in Summer Sun Classic Ink. I used the Flight of the Butterfly Stamp Set to stamp the main focal image on Whisper White Card Stock in the various ink colors then added a layer of Pink Passion Card Stock behind for a mat. I really love how fun and cheerful this card looks. It just makes me happy to see it and I know that who every I send it to will have their day brightened as well. These are just a few of the retiring colors I will try and focus on those a few times a week so you can decide if you need to stock up on card stock and reinkers before they retire on June 30. Thank you for stopping by today and be sure and came back again. I have more projects to share both sewing and stamping. Have a great day, Tonya

Wonderful Mom

Good afternoon, sorry for not posting again yesterday but the project that I finished I can't share right at the moment as it is a birthday gift. I am super excited to share it with you but it will have to wait until the birthday girl receives it. Since I have been sewing so much I feel like I have sort of lost my stamping mojo so I decided to start with a simple card. I will share with you a card I made this afternoon. I haven't used a lot of the the Occasion Mini items so before time runs out I had better start. One of the items that I have been wanting to use is the Extra Large Two Step Bird. This punch not only punches out the bird and wing but also the branch that the bird is setting on. It really is cute and for a mom that loves bird watching what a perfect card. The base is So Saffron Card Stock and so is the bird. I added a little So Saffron Classic Ink to the bird to give it a little more dimension. The branch is punched out of Old Olive Card Stock. I also used some much neglected Designer Series Paper from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack. I really need to use more of these as they are so pretty and fun. The bird and his branches are on a Whisper White Card Stock Lattice made with the Big Shot and the Stampin'Up! Lattice Bigz Die. Doesn't it make him look like he is setting right on a lattice fence. I added a simply Wonderful Mother sentiment to finish off the card from the Well Scripted Stamp Set. I inked it with the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker which I also used to add the eye on the bird. Remember there is only one month left to purchase from the Occasions Mini so if you would like to purchase the supplies to make this card don't wait until it is to late. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend, Tonya
