Treats for the team!

Hello and Happy Sunday! Today I want to share my sewing project for the week. I needed to do treat bags for my daughter's gymnastics team mates for this weekends meet and she asked if I would make them Scallop Square Purses. Of course I was happy to do so, she just needed to pick out the fabric. After looking at several locations she choose the bright daisies and four solid fabrics to coordinate with the daisies. Each girl's bag is different and they have lots of goodies inside. They are so bright and cute I hope the girls like them as much as we do. This size is a little smaller than the other two bags I have shown you. They only have 14 scallop squares total with the front being just four squares. New Baby Fun!

Good morning, hope you are having a great weekend. The sun is shining which is a big plus. A couple of days ago I shared a card that I had CASE'd from one that Renee VanStralen had made. This is the second card that I had made that day using the same layout. The base is Pretty in Pink Card Stock, I also used Whisper White and Rose Red Card Stock, the Designer Series Paper is from Tea Party. I used two stamp sets Fox and Friends and Family Phrases. The ribbon is Pretty in Pink 5/8" Satin Ribbon and there are three punches used on this card, the Scallop Edge Punch, Scallop Circle Punch and the 1 3/8" Circle Punch. I inked up the whale with the Pretty in Pink and Rose Red Stampin' Write Markers. It is really hard to see in this picture but on the upper part of the card I have stamped happy new baby in Pretty in Pink Classic Ink. Nothing to fancy about the card just simple and sweet.

Quick and Easy Easter Card

Good morning, I am actually finding time to post in the morning which means my day is going a little smoother. First a couple of reminders. Now about today's Easter Card. I had this idea for an Easter Egg card since I made the Chocolate Bunny Card. As I punched out the Happy Easter, I thought the Wide Oval Punch would make a great Easter Egg. The card base is Pretty in Pink Card Stock, just a piece I had leftover from a recent workshop project. The Whisper White Card Stock is cut 5 1/4" x 4" and I used the Scallop Circle Punch to make a template from scrap paper and sponged Bashful Blue Classic Ink with a Sponge Dauber to make the clouds. It really is quite easy to do, give it a try if you haven't before and let me know how it went. I stamped the Happy Easter from the Well Scripted Stamp Set with the Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad. I punched out three Wide Oval Eggs from the Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper and the So Saffron Patterns Designer Series Paper. The grass was made from the Shades of Spring Designer Series paper. I used the Scallop Edge Punch to punch the top, then went back and punched it again just a little off the first punch and it made the pointed grass edge.
After I used the Paper Snips and cut down from the top between blades of grass to allow the grass to bend and place the eggs in it. The grass was added to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals and the Eggs were put on with Pop Up Glue Dots. This layout would also work well for a scrapbook page with the Easter Eggs across the bottom. Now that I have made a few Easter cards I am really starting to get in the mood for Spring to arrive, but first I guess we have to get rid of the snow. Oh, well Winter can't last forever. Monkeying Around!

Good evening! I have found that this week it is just easier to post of an evening after all the activities of the day are done. Hopefully next week I will be back posting during the day but this works for now. I recently received my Stampin' Success Magazine and there was a article about Renee VanStralen and a really cute card with the Fox and Friends Stamp Set and I just couldn't resist CASEing it. Now for those of you wondering was Stampin' Success is, it is a great monthly Magazine that Stampin'UP! puts out. How do you receive it well, all you have to do is sign up to be a Demonstrator. It is just one of the great perks of being a Demonstrator. The layout is the same but I made a few changes and took off a layer or two. I used the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper and Taken with Teal Card Stock, Fox and Friends Stamp Set, Family Phrases Stamp Set, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pad, Whisper White Card Stock, Pumpkin Pie Card Stock and Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon. the outside of the card I just couldn't resist added a few monkeys on the inside too. They are just so cute and playful. This would make a great birthday card for a little boy or girl. I also used the Scallop Edge Punch on the inside of the card just to finish off the Whisper White card Stock. I made another card in a similar layout but for a new baby. Maybe I will share it tomorrow.

Grandma's Chocolate Rabbit

Hello and good afternoon, I debated since I made this card if it was to soon to share it with you. I mean really Easter isn't until April but I just couldn't resist and had to share. So if you are wanting to get a head start on your Easter Cards then this is the card for you.

The Chocolate Bunny Stamp that is in the Occasions Mini just had to be mine when I saw it. You see it makes me think of my Grandma (on my mom's side) who for as long as I can remember and from what I have been told even before that has had a Chocolate Easter Bunny just like this one for our Easter Center Piece every year. She has stored the bunny in the freezer every year until it is time to get him out and set him on his special green glass dish surrounded by jelly beans. Every child I know has been told not to touch the bunny and the story of how it is saved each year. Now to some this may seem odd but it is a treasured family tradition for our Easter Dinners and so today this card is in honor of my Grandma. The layout is fairly simple, I decided to do a Top Note Quilt as the center because I haven't made one lately. The base of the card is Pretty in Pink Card Stock that has polka dots thanks to the Stampin'Up! Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder. The designer series paper is the Shades of Spring Series Paper from the Occasions Mini. The Chocolate Bunny was stamped with the Chocolate Chip Craft Stampin' Pad on Close to Cocoa Card Stock. I embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder before cutting him out. I used the Well Scripted Stamp Set also from the Occasions Mini and the yummy Pretty in Pink 5/8" Satin Ribbon. I really hope that Stampin'Up! keeps the 5/8" Satin Ribbon that is in the Mini in the new catalog and adds more colors. This card will be going to my Grandma when it is closer to Easter of course and I will try and take a picture of the Chocolate Bunny to scrapbook this year as family traditions are important to record. Vintage Razzleberry

Hello, I had a workshop this weekend and one of the cards that we made was this one. I really love these colors together and this set is so pretty. The stamp set is Vintage Vogue and I used the coordinating wheel Very Vintage. The colors for the card are Kraft Card Stock, Rich Razzleberry Card Stock, Pale Plum Card Stock, Close to Cocoa Card Stock and Very Vanilla Card Stock. Ink colors are Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad, Pale Plum Classic Stampin' Pad and Close to Cocoa Classic Stamp' Pad. We also used the new Very Vanilla 5/8" Satin Ribbon and the Modern Label Punch. The punch was layered on the Big Shot Movers and Shapers Coordinating Modern Label Die. See how nicely they layer. Just a few dimensionals and this card is ready to send. I love the sentiment "Life Happens. Love Helps." Do you know someone that could use a few words of encouragement? A Little Spring time!

Ok, I know that Spring time seems a long way off especially with all the snow we are currently getting but it will arrive at some point, right? I sure hope this is the last of the snow until next winter, I am personally sick of the white stuff, but lets move onto the card and more cheerful thoughts. The design is pretty basic and I might add a sentiment but I haven't quite decided yet. I again added a secret door in the card to get the M&M's out. Who wants to tear up a pretty card just to get the chocolate out but you don't want chocolate to go to waste either. More Vintage Vogue

Good morning, what a dreary yucky day. I hope that this weather doesn't affect all the activities that our family has planned for this weekend. I really want Spring to arrive, but enough about the weather. I have a new card to share with you today. It has a lot of detail to it and was fun to make. Lets get started with the supplies: Vintage Vogue Stamp Set ( wood mount 117690 or clear mount 118598), Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel (117693), Jumbo Handle (103661), Kraft Card Stock (102125), Not Quite Navy Card Stock (101722), Rich Razzleberry Card Stock (115316), Very Vanilla Card Stock (101650), Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad (102277), Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad (115659), Not Quite Navy Classic Stampin' Pad (103008), Close to Cocoa Classic Stampin' Pad (103139), Old Olive Stampin Write Marker (100079), Close to Cocoa Stampin' Write Marker (100072), Kraft Taffeta Ribbon (109068), Eyelet Border Punch (113692), Crimper (101618)

The base is of course Kraft Card Stock which I rolled the Very Vintage Wheel across the bottom of the card. I then used the Eyelet Border Punch to make a Not Quite Navy Strip to go across the center of the card. This was Crimped before I added it to the card. I used Sticky Strip to attach the Not Quite Navy Card Stock to the card folding it as I went to give it a ruffled looked. I then added the Kraft Taffeta Ribbon around the card and tied it with a knot. I stamped the Life Happens. Love Helps. first on the Very Vanilla Card Stock then used the Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the vine and stamp it twice on the Very Vanilla Card Stock. I then stamped the flowers and leaf on scrap Very Vanilla and cut them out with my paper snips. They were added to the card with Mini Glue Dots and Stampin Dimensionals and there you have the finished card. It looks more complex than it is.

Heart Treat Cups Still Available!

Hello, it's Thursday and the week is flying by. I am super excited about this weekend as I have a workshop with a group of new ladies. I love to introduce people to stamping and especially Stampin'Up! It really is a fantastic company and I love all their products including the super cute Heart Treat Cups (120435) that I am showing you today.The Heart Treat Cups are super affordable. You receive 12 cups for only $2.95. Stampin'Up! announced yesterday that these will be available until July and are also going to be available in the new catalog. This includes the Sweetheart Stamp Set ( wood mount 120415, clear mount 120780) shown on the cards here. These are my daughters Valentine's Cards for her classmates and gymnastics team. She designed these herself and I really like how they turned out. The fun part about these card is that the tab on the right side of the card, made with the Round Tab Punch (108340) pulls out to reveal a message and also to allow the recipient to remove the candy without destroying the card. To punch out the heart and allow the Heart Treat Cup to fit in the card you will need the Full Heart Punch (113693). She also used the I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set which is the message on the pull tab. It says friend in the center of the heart. The boys received Bermuda Bay Card Stock bases and the girls received Melon Mambo Card Stock bases. The cards are only a 3" x 3" size when finished but that is perfect for the Heart Treat Cups. You can add whatever you would like in the cups including the M&M's that my daughter chose. There is a flower stem included in the stamp set also and it would make fun spring cards or Easter cards. Lots of ideas floating around for these cute cups.

Valentine's I forgot to share!

Good morning! I completely forgot about posting my children's Valentine's until I was downloading pictures from this last weekend. I had waited until after they delivered them to their classmates but I had planned to show them to you sooner than today. Oh, well better late than never right ;). In this post I will show you my sons' Valentine's Day Card and I will post my daughter's a little later today. For my two youngest sons I just couldn't resist the Love Bots for Boys (118081). There were 30 in each package which took care of both of their classes. There were three designs and each boy got half of them. The Love Bots are cute little Die Cut Boxes that they boys and I assembled, they filled with candy and added their classmate and their own name. Now there is a Personalized Name Stamp (117692) but I opted to let them practice their hand writing and didn't get the name stamp for them. The boxes hold quite a bit of candy. My boys added a fun size bag of Skittles and a small Laffy Taffy in theirs. They seal shut with clear round closures which are included.

My older son is getting to the age were he doesn't want "cute" Valentine's Day Cards. He wanted to give his classmates Jolly Rancher Suckers (they are big in our middle school) so I scored a piece of Real Red Card Stock to cover the sucker and cut out the Whisper White Card Stock for him to stamp on. From there he did all the work. He used the Friends Rock Stamp Set (113816) and stamped the guitar and You Rock in Basic Gray Classic Ink (109120), he then used the Real Red, Basic Black, YoYo Yellow, and Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Write Markers to color in the guitar. The boys received the one on the left and the girls the one on the right. He wrote his name on the back and they were ready to give. I did hear a report from school that his friends didn't believe him when he said that he made them himself. My daughter joked that maybe one day he would sign up to be a demonstrator too! I don't' see that happening but I do enjoy the fact that my kids all know how to stamp.

I like to move it move it!

Hello to all! Hope you are having a great week. Today I would like to share with you a project we did last week at Stamp Club. Now I didn't come up with the idea of using the Movers and Shapers Die and just cutting out half of it myself. I saw a video on a blog that I follow, Stamping with Roxy. After I saw the video I just knew that I had to share it with my Stamp Club ladies so that they would use their Movers and Shapers Dies more. So here are the supplies we used for the card. Big Shot Die Cut Machine (113439), Movers & Shapers Curly Label Die (114506), Punch Windows Magnetic Movers and Shapers (115953), Taken with Teal Card Stock (101584), Taken with Teal Classic Stampin' Pad (103257), Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin' Pad (105216), Whisper White Card Stock (100730), Eyelet Border Punch (113692), Fine Flourish

Stamp (115709), Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack (117161), Chocolate Chip 5/8" Satin Ribbon (117287), I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set ( wood mount 117010, Clear Mount 118571), Full Heart Punch (113693). The base of the card stock is cut 4 1/4" x 11 and then scored at 5 1/2" and 2 3/4" which will be the front of the card. After cutting out the heart shape we stamped the front panel with the Fine Flourish in Taken With Teal Classic Ink. We stamped the Friend heart

on Whisper White and punched it out with the Full Heart Punch then added it to the center of the card. The Satin Ribbon was tied around the heart opening and knotted. The inside was decorated with Whisper White and Sweet Pea Designer Series paper. Not a difficult card but one that makes people stop and wonder how you cut out just half of the hear. I really like that it has a non Valentine's feel and would be perfect to send to a friend that need a pick me up or just needs to know that you are thinking of them. This card would make a great workshop card as it is fun for beginner or advanced stampers. Call me if you would like to make this card at your workshop. Vintage Hearts

Good Morning! I hope that you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. The kids and I spent the day at my Grandma's house with family. It was a great way to spend the day. So today I am back with another card that was made with the I {heart} Hearts Stamp Set that is in the Occasions Mini. I am working on a class using this stamp set and wanted it to be just traditional cards, because this set really is more than a Valentine's Day set. So I once again started with a base of Kraft Card Stock and added some texture with the Texture Plates Kit #4 and the Big Shot Die Cut Machine. Then I used the Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pad to drag ink across the raised textured area. This just adds to the vintage feel of the card. I used Rich Razzleberry Card Stock for the panel on the left side of the card. I bought the I {heart} Hearts Stamp Set in clear mount so I used several of the hearts and Block I to make a background stamp. I inked up with the Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad and stamped the images twice. I then used the Scallop Trim Border Punch along one side and used SNAIL Adhesive to attach it to the card. I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set to make the Thinking of you Tag. I stamped on Very Vanilla Card Stock with Close to Cocoa Classic Ink. The tag was made using two punches the Modern Label Punch and the Medium Jewelry Tag Punch. I added Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon and Linen Thread to attach the tag. I still thought the card needed something so I added a few buttons from the Button Latte Designer Buttons. They also have Linen Thread tied through the holes to finish them off. I {heart} Hearts, I really do!

Hello, this is a busy week with Valentine preparations. Four kids means four sets of Valentine's and boxes and all that goes with it. We have successfully completed three of the four sets of Valentine's for my kids parties which are tomorrow but the oldest son is still not done with his yet. I however am not sharing those at this time so I have another card for you. I just recently received my I {heart} Hearts Stamp Set and I love it! Now if you don't remember this is the stamp set that Stampin'Up! has chosen to donate $2 from the sell of every set (wood or clear mount) until the end of February to the Red Cross Haitian Relief and Recovery Fund. At the last update that total was over $15,000. If you haven't purchased yours yet there is still time. The layout is pretty simple but one that would be easy to create in various colors. I started with Kraft Card Stock for the base and then used the Polka Dot Textured Impressions Folder from the Occasions Mini to add the polka dots to the front. I used the Sahara Sand Classic Stamp Pad to add some distressing to the raised polka dots. I stamped the heart with Not Quite Navy Classic Ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock then added the sentiment from the Whimsical Words Stamp Set (Free with a $50 merchandise order) in Close to Cocoa Classic Ink. The hearts are punched out with the Heart to Heart Punch from Kraft and Not Quite Navy Card Stock. To finish off the card I matted the Very Vanilla Card Stock onto Not Quite Navy Card Stock and then Kraft Card Stock and the card was finished. See how easy it was to take this set and make a great card. I have a couple of more cards to show you that I made with the same set. I think it is going to be a very versatile set. Vintage Flowers

Good morning, I am going to make this a quick post as I have to get back to school soon to tour a high school with my daughter. Today's card is one that we are doing in Stamp Club this month. When I received my Occasions Mini this was a stamp set that I knew I had to have. I just love the vintage look and after stamping with it I am so glad that I purchased it early. The stamp set is Vintage Vogue (117690 wood mount, 118598 clear mount). This set also has a coordinating wheel which I will show you on a future card. I started with a base of Kraft Card Stock (102125) and then used the Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049) to stamp the flower edge four times down the left side of the card with the Close to Cocoa Classic Stampin' Pad (103139). If you look under the Old Olive 5/8" Satin Ribbon (117292) you can see the stamping that I am talking about. There is a space between the two sides that is about of 1/4" for the ribbon. Next we moved onto the main image which is inked up with the Close to Cocoa Stampin' Write Marker (100072) and the Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Marker (116329). This was stamped on Very Vanilla Card Stock (101650). We also stamped the small flower and the leaf on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock with Old Olive Classic Ink (102277) and Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Marker (116329)before cutting them out. The flower was added with a Stampin' Dimensional (104430) and the leaves were added with Mini Glue Dots (103683). To finish off the flower we added a small half back pearl. Now for the fun part making the Chocolate Chip Card Stock (102128) mat to go behind the image. We started with a 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" piece of card stock and used both the Scallop Trim Corner (118870) and the Scallop Trim Border (118402). Now this is a practice makes perfect type of project but once you figure out a size that works best with the punches it really is a fun way to add that something extra to your card. Inspired by Polka Dots!

Hello, does this look familiar to you? If you checked out my last post with my daughter's Scallop Square Purse then it might. I mentioned in my last post that I was inspired to make a card using the colors I had found in the fabric. There were so many Stampin'Up! colors that I just couldn't help myself. So this afternoon I got busy and quickly made this card. It really went together quickly and I love the fun colors together. I think it would make a great cake design with dark chocolate icing and fondant icing in the pastels and rose color. Hmm, maybe my daughter would like a cake like that for her 15th birthday. Well, that is still several months away so I had better not get to far ahead of myself. Now back to the card. The base of the card is Chocolate Chip Card Stock, and I used the 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch and 3/4" Circle Punch to make the random Polka Dots out of Rose Red Card Stock, Bashful Blue Card Stock, Apricot Appeal Card Stock and Certainly Celery Card Stock . The stamp set I used is Happy Moments which is one of the Sale-a-bration choices. I used the Stampin' Write Markers in Rose Red, Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery and Barely Banana to color in my image. I rarely color with the Markers directly on my image but this one just need the extra color that the markers give. I used the Scallop Edge Punch and the Corner Rounder to finish off my framing around the image. I also used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the stamp set to add the happy birthday to one of the Bashful Blue Polka Dots. The image and the happy birthday were both stamped with Basic Brown Classic Ink Pad. So what do you think of my inspired by card? I don't really have any birthday's coming up soon unfortunately. Rag Purse Fun!

Good morning! It is Monday again and the weekend flew by, but I do have lots to share with you because I have been busy stamping, sewing and I had my 3rd Annual Valentine's day Class for Kids this weekend. I had nine kids here on Saturday and we had so much fun! I love stamping and with kids it is such a fun experience to watch them create.I will share those pictures later. For now I wanted to share with you my latest Rag Purse creation. This one is for my wonderful daughter. She picked out the fabric she wanted and I cut out and sewed the purse. We didn't have Stampin'Up! colors in mind when she picked the fabric so image our surprise when we discovered that we had so many our our wonderful colors right in the fabric. I am still planning on making a card with these colors maybe this afternoon. ;) I used the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine (if you would like to own one for yourself contact me), Stampin'Up! Scallop Square Bigz Clear Die (115950), Rose Red 1" Double-Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (111846) for the handles and One retired Kiwi Kiss Corduroy Button for the center of the flower. Oh, I about forgot the flower, I added this to the bag and it was super easy to make. I used the Stampin'Up! Flower Fold Bigz XL Die (115970) to cut out two pieces of fabric and one layer of batting. Then I hand stitched around the flower for the quilted look I wanted. Now you do need to be careful not to put to many layers through the Big Shot with the flower die as it has score lines to fold the flower. I didn't have any problem with mine cutting with the three layers but you might want to test your die and Big Shot first. The flower is attached with a pin so that it can be removed or moved on the purse as the mood strikes.

There are so many things you can do with the Big Shot and I haven't even begun to tap into them, if you have a specific thing you would like me to try let me know I love a challenge! More Valentine's Fun

Good evening again, it is a late night post. Maybe I should just start planning my post for the evening then if they are earlier we will all be surprised. First I wanted to give you an update on the I {heart} Heart Haitian Relief that Stampin'Up! is currently doing. As of yesterday they have sold 6694 stamp sets with $2 from each going to the Red Cross to help with the relief efforts in Haiti. Wow great job, but it isn't to late to purchase your stamp set.

Today's Valentine's day card is another 3x3 size that is perfect for kids to give their friends. I just love the little turtle with his wagon. The best part is this isn't even a Valentine set. The turtle is from our Ronald McDonald House Charities Stamp Set Very Thankful (115338). Every year Stampin'Up! has a new set that is their RMHC set of the year. For every set that is sold they donate $2 to the RMHC. Stampin'Up! really is a great company to represent! Okay back to the card, it is pretty simple and if you are going to make a lot of Valentine's simple is always good. I started with a base of Real Red Card Stock (102482) and then stamped the turtle image on Whisper White Card Stock (100730) with the Basic Gray Stampin' Pad (109120). I omitted the very thankful that is below the image by masking it off before stamping. This is a great way to get extra use out of a stamp. I watercolored the images with the Aquapainter, Real Red Classic Stampin'Pad (103133), Certainly Celery Classic Stampin'Pad (105217), Close to Cocoa Classic Stampin' Pad (103139), and Going Gray Classic Stampin'Pad (103274). I used Old Olive Card Stock (100702) that I tore along the edge and added it below my image to make grass. I then used the Happy Valentine's Day from Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370) and stamped it with the Basic Gray Classic Stampin'Pad along the bottom of the card. Cute, but simple and ready to go to school with your child. Would your child like to make their own Valentine's this year for their friends? Pretty In Pink Just For You!

Sorry for the late post the day just sort of got away from me. Today we have a guest designer. My daughter made the card I am sharing with you today. She likes to design and make cards and wants to some day be a demonstrator. I sure hope she lets me be her upline. She needed Thank You Notes for her class to send out. This is the card she made. She started with a base of Pretty in Pink Card Stock (100459), then using the Medallion Background Stamp (115223) she stamped it twice with Pretty In Pink Classic Ink (101301) once on the base of the card and once on scrap Pretty In Pink Card Stock. She then punched out the scrap piece with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch (112004). She used the Thank You Kindly Stamp Set (111700), which is an extra Sale-a-bration choice. The Thank You was stamped in Basic Gray Classic Ink (109120). Then to add a little extra pop she used the Circle Scissor Plus (112530) and cut out a 2" Circle from Basic Gray Card Stock (108692) and add it behind the Punched out Circle. Simple yet pretty, pretty in pink in fact. I am off to work on the Customer Thank You's for January which will be going out to everyone that placed an order with me whether it be online or directly. I have all the cards started just need to finish them up. I will be back tomorrow with another project to share with you. I want to thank my daughter for letting me share her work with you.
