A little Garden Bling!

Good morning! Yesterday I worked on a new project that I am so excited to share with you. I have Laura Haffke to thank for the wonderful idea that she shared with us on Stampin' Connections but for the butterflies I decided to do a little extra something to them and I love the results. Now there are colored metal sheets available but I am a Stampin'UP! Girl I would rather use something that we sell or change it up to use something we have. With that being said I did get the metal sheets from a local home improvement store as Stampin'Up! doesn't sell them. Hmm make in the new catalog. I used the Elegant Lines, Vintage Wallpaper, Elegant Bouquet, Perfect Polka Dots, and Flower Garden Textured Impressions Folders to add the embossed designs on the metal before cutting each shape. For the shapes I used the Beautiful Butterflies, Scallop Circle, Framed Oval Scallop, and the Scallop Square Bigz Dies with the Big Shot. Now for the fun part. In our recent Stampin' Success Magazine there was a Vintage Brad that had been heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder and I have done that with smaller brads before to get the color I wanted so I decided to try and heat emboss the butterflies so they would be colorful. I used Versamark and Heat & Stick Powder to the first butterfly before I added the Fine Cosmo Orchid Glitter to it. After it was Heat Set this butterfly was ready.

The next butterfly was made by using the a Rose Red Craft Spot and inking up the butterfly then adding Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and heating to set. This butterfly has a lot of shimmer too.

The Aqua butterfly was also done with Heat & Stick Powder but this time I used the Fine Supernova Aqua Glitter.

The final butterfly was actually the first one I did and for it I used Versamark and the new Melon Mambo Embossing Powder that is in the new Summer Mini. All the butterflies were attached with Clear Rhinestone Brads and the holes were punched in them with the Crop-a-dile. To write on this for your Garden you can use a permanent marker or you can use Stazon ink. There is a little of the Melon Mambo Embossing Powder in the flowers of the Scallop Circle I was trying another technique but didn't care for the first results but did line the touch of color. This are so fun to make and I am all ready thinking of other Big Shot dies I can use to make more. Now I just need to find stakes for them and they are ready for the garden. Grandma's Chocolate Rabbit

Hello and good afternoon, I debated since I made this card if it was to soon to share it with you. I mean really Easter isn't until April but I just couldn't resist and had to share. So if you are wanting to get a head start on your Easter Cards then this is the card for you.

The Chocolate Bunny Stamp that is in the Occasions Mini just had to be mine when I saw it. You see it makes me think of my Grandma (on my mom's side) who for as long as I can remember and from what I have been told even before that has had a Chocolate Easter Bunny just like this one for our Easter Center Piece every year. She has stored the bunny in the freezer every year until it is time to get him out and set him on his special green glass dish surrounded by jelly beans. Every child I know has been told not to touch the bunny and the story of how it is saved each year. Now to some this may seem odd but it is a treasured family tradition for our Easter Dinners and so today this card is in honor of my Grandma. The layout is fairly simple, I decided to do a Top Note Quilt as the center because I haven't made one lately. The base of the card is Pretty in Pink Card Stock that has polka dots thanks to the Stampin'Up! Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder. The designer series paper is the Shades of Spring Series Paper from the Occasions Mini. The Chocolate Bunny was stamped with the Chocolate Chip Craft Stampin' Pad on Close to Cocoa Card Stock. I embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder before cutting him out. I used the Well Scripted Stamp Set also from the Occasions Mini and the yummy Pretty in Pink 5/8" Satin Ribbon. I really hope that Stampin'Up! keeps the 5/8" Satin Ribbon that is in the Mini in the new catalog and adds more colors. This card will be going to my Grandma when it is closer to Easter of course and I will try and take a picture of the Chocolate Bunny to scrapbook this year as family traditions are important to record. Dry Embossed Hearts

Okay today's post is a continuation of my last post with the Kangaroo Card. I was so happy with the way the Dry Embossed Hearts turned out that I thought I would share the technique with everyone. I am going to provide pictures and steps for the technique and if you have seen it before please forgive me but I haven't saw it on a blog or site so I thought I would share.

Okay so here goes start by punching out the new Small Heart Punch (117193) from the Occasion Mini multiple time from a sheet of thin cardboard. I used a sheet that came in a Definitely Decorative item. Then you need your Big Shot, Multi purpose platform which comes with the Big Shot, standard cutting pad, Standard Texturz Impressions Pad, and Standard Texturz Silicone Rubber. Open up the Multipurpose Platform to tab 1 as in the picture above and add one Standard Cutting Pad on top of the Multipurpose Platform. Now for a reference I added a piece of scrap paper cut 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". This gave me a area for my heart to be placed and I could better judge where I wanted them placed. After you have them placed you could snail or Dotto the heart down to the scrap paper. This is especially helpful if you are planning on making multiples of your card.
Next lay your card stock over the top of the hearts and multipurpose platform. Notice that the card stock is cut 4 1/4" x 11 so that I can just emboss the front of the card.

The next step is to lay the Standard Texturz Silicone Rubber onto the card stock being careful to line it up with the top of the card. You add the Standard Texturz Impressions Pad on the top lining it also up with the top of the card. By lining the two up with the top of the card you will only be embossing the front of the card and the other side will remain smooth.


You then just roll it all through your Big Shot and when you are finished you have hearts scattered across the front of your card. You could use the technique with any of our punches. Imagine all the choices you have to quickly and easily dry emboss the front of your card.
