Wedding Invites Anyone!

Good afternoon , I have been busy getting ready for a pasta dinner that we are hosting tomorrow night so not much stamping as been done this week but I haven't shared the Wedding Invites that I recently did for a Swap that I participated in. I love this color combo together. It is so pretty and yes there is shimmer on the front too. I had designed another invite similar to this for a special couple that will be getting married next month but this one is a little different and the best part about a swap I know have lots of samples to share with anyone that is planning a wedding. So whether you want to make your own or hire me to make them for you I can help you with all your wedding needs. Now back to the invite it is Very Vanilla, Early Espresso and Calypso Coral. It is a trfold and has an inside pocket for your RSVP Card and reception info. As for the other supplies, I used the Big Shot and the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder on the smaller panel and the inside pocket. I also used the Perfect Pennants Die for the belly band as well as the Scallop Trim Border Punch. The A is from the Lovely Letters Alphabet Set. Inside I added flowers by stamping the flowers from Vintage Vogue in Calypso Coral Classic Ink on Very Vanilla. Don't worry all the info inside is false as I only have one daughter. My kids thought it was funny that they have a fake sister getting married but I had to put something on the invite ;) If you would like to see more of the wedding invites give me a call and I will be happy to set up a time to meet with you. Wedding Favor!

Good evening, what a fun evening tonight at Stamp Club! Love getting together to stamp and chat with everyone. Tomorrow night is another fun Stamp Club night, so more fun with the ladies. Tonight I am going to share a wedding favor that I recently made for a sample for a upcoming wedding. We aren't going with this idea so I thought I would share it with you now. The colors are Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Whisper White and Basic Black. The other supplies are the Matchbox Bigx XL Die, Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, 5-Petal Punch, Doily Triple Layer Punch, Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch, Oval All Stamp Set, Clear Rhinestone Brads, and Frost White Shimmer Paint. I love the Shimmer Paint, add just a bit to Rubbing Alcohol in a Spray Bottle and you have a great way to add shimmer and shine to any project. You can really see it on this one and it really adds a touch of elegance to any project. Well, I am off I hear my stamps calling my name and I get some new items tomorrow. A few More Petal Cones

Good afternoon, I wanted to share a few more of the petal cone projects that we made for Valentine's Day. These were more gifts for the teachers and are similar to the previous one I showed you except we closed them into the cone shape. I provided a close up of the flowers. You can see the shimmer in them and they are so much fun to make. I really love how they turned out. I am currently working on a card that is almost finished and will be ready to show soon. The warm weather is making a tough to stay inside, so projects are taking a little longer.

Be Merry!

Hello! I decided to do some cleaning in my Craft Room this weekend so no stamping got done. I do have several projects started, if I could only finish one it would be great and of course this is club week so I will be working on Club Projects today too. I do have ideas for projects just need to complete my samples and cut out the supplies. So for today I am still working my way through some of the cards that I made for the Stack-a-Stamp. This card was one of the ones that the girls made with my wonderful daughter. The layout is simple but with the watercoloring, punching and Dazzling Diamonds I wanted it to be simple to make. The base of the card is Pretty In Pink Card Stock that has been embossed with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and then spritzed with the homemade Frost White Shimmer Paint Spritz. The cute little girl was stamped on Whisper White Card Stock with Basic Gray Classic Ink. In case you didn't recognize her from previous post she is from the Greeting Card Kids Stamp Set. She was watercolored with the Classic Stamp Pads and Blender Pen. The colors used were Bravo Burgundy, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, So Saffron and the Blush Blossom Marker for her face. There is Dazzling Diamonds added to her coat trim and hat with 2 Way Glue. She is then layered on Pretty In Pink and Bravo Burgundy. The Bravo Burgundy layer has the bottom punched with the Eyelet Border Punch and more Dazzling Diamonds added. To finish off the card I snowflake was added that was made from the Northern Frost Decorative Strip and the be merry was added after being stamped with Basic Gray and punched out with the 1 3/8" x 5/8" Oval Punch. Oops I just realized as I am typing up this post that the be merry is from a retired stamp set. Well, I forgot that stamp the day the girls made their cards anyway and we had to improvise and added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center of the snowflake. I liked how those turned out too. It never fails I always forget something when packing for a workshop and for this one it was the be merry stamp set. Oh, well I will switch it out with a current stamp set and remove the retired set from my current sets. Peace on Earth Redo

Good evening! Super quick post before I head to bed. This is one of the cards we did for the Christmas Stamp-a-Stack. I just altered my previous Peace on Earth card by adding a base of Cherry Cobbler and adding the Dove, but since it is cut out the ladies did not prefer this card to much. They made them but the would rather have not cut the dove out. My next Stamp-a-Stack I probably will not include this card but who knows I might change my mind. ;) I did add the Shimmer Mist to the base because I just love the shimmer and sparkle that is adds to the cards. Watch out those of you on our family Christmas Card list I will probably send out shimmery cards this year. Well, I am off for the night. Tomorrow I will be back with a sewing project. New Technique Time!

I was going through the pictures of swaps from Convention that I have not posted yet and this is one that I found. It was for a technique swap that I did. The layout probably looks familiar as it is one that I did earlier but I added the Shimmery Resist Technique to the main image. The technique is fairly simple to do. I used the following supplies for the technique. Black Craft Pad, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Sponge Dauber, and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. I used the Artistic Etchings Stamp Set, Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, and Basic Black Card Stock, Jet Black Stazon, Riding Hood Red Classic Stamp Pad, Crumb Cake Classic Stamp Pad, 1/8" Basic Black and Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon and the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. The technique is fairly simple in that you heat emboss your main image then apply the Shimmer Paint with a sponge dauber over the card stock including the embossed image then using a paper towel remove the shimmer paint from the image. It will resist the paint. After the paint dries which is pretty quickly you can use the sponge dauber and ink up the stamps for the background with Shimmer Paint. It is easier to see in the close up picture what I am talking about. If you would like to learn more about this technique contact me and we can set up a private class for you and your friends. Snowflake Tiles

Hello, to all! One of my wonderful club ladies emailed me a questions about stamping on tiles and while I was thinking about her question I decided to just go ahead and stamp a few tiles myself. Now before I go into all the details I want to let you know that all three tiles are done just a little differently when it comes to techniques and supplies used.
The first tile on the left is one that I used the Serene Snowflakes Stamp Set. Sorry about using it so many days in a row but I just love the snowflakes in this set. They are so delicate and pretty. I love snowmen and snowflakes so this is a favorite set of mine. For the first tile I used the Frosted White Shimmer Paint and mixed Night of Navy and Brocade Blue Reinkers into the paint. This gives you a shimmer paint that is a little lighter than the reinker. The biggest snowflake is the Night of Navy just to give you a color comparison. I then used the Platinum Shimmer Paint to stamp the three small snowflakes. Because of the shimmer of the paint it is a little had to see the snowflakes but know that in person this has a lot of shimmer and is really quite pretty.

The second tile uses Craft Ink Pads in Night of Navy and Brocade Blue. I also used Silver Encore ink for the small snowflakes.I used the same color combo for the snowflakes as the first tile. The difference on this tile is that after I stamped it I poured Clear Embossing Powder over the Craft Ink then a baked this tile in the oven for 10 minutes at 300 degrees. This embosses the Craft Ink onto the tile and sets it. It doesn't have the shimmer that the first tile has but it does show off the details of the stamp set a little better.

The final tile is definitely just for decorative purposes but it is my favorite of the three. I had leftover shimmer paint from the first tile and decided I would use a stencil and sponge the tile. The stencil was made using our Medium Window Sheets and the Snowflake #2 Big Shot Die. I then sponged the shimmer paint into the stencil adding the lightest color first then the darker around the edges. I also sponged the edges of the tile for a more finished look. The Season's Greetings was added with Platinum Shimmer Paint. I added a Half Pearl from the Pretties Kit with Crystal Effects and this tile is ready to display.

More Snowflakes!

Good morning, before I go on to today's project let me just remind you that today is the last day to take advantage of the fantastic Online Extravaganza Deals. Please call me if you would like to place can order. I don't want you to miss out on the great deals.
Now onto today's project. We made these baskets at this month's Stamp Club but it just didn't seem finished until I added the Small Flat Cellophane Bag (103104) some Candy Cane Kisses and Mistletoe Ribbon (116792), but I am getting ahead of myself first I should tell you how we made the basket. These baskets are easy to make with a little help from the Big Shot and the Stampin'Up! Baskets & Blooms Bigs XL Die (113484). This die cut and scores the two sides for the basket and the bottom in no time. I used Real Red Card Stock (102482). After you cut out the sides and bottom you need Sticky Strip (104294) to assemble the basket. Now if you want to add an embellishment like the snowflakes you should to that before you attach the two sides into a circle. It is easier to pierce the hole when the project is flat. (Wonder how I found that out) To make the snowflakes I used the Jumbo Snowflake Punch (116628) and punched out one from Whisper White Card Stock (100730) and one from Soft Suede Card Stock (115318). I used a small Clear Rhinestone Brad in the center of the snowflakes. After we finished the basket we used the Shimmer Paint Champagne Mist (116806) that I added to Rubbing Alcohol and made a Shimmer Spray. This adds lots of sparkle to a project. I hope you can see it better on the close up picture. Remember that the Shimmer Paint is only available until January 4. Wouldn't these baskets make a great gift for a coworker or for a goodie bag for you child's classroom.

Let it Snow?

Good morning, what a busy weekend we had at our house. Between a camp out for oldest son and a gymnastics meet for darling daughter we weren't home much. Today I had planned to share with you our Stamp Club card for this week. I find it very fitting that it would be snowing when I posted this picture. I do like snow in very small amounts. One good snow for Christmas break is great by me but snow in the middle of November is just to early, but as I watch the ground turn a little whiter it look like we will be getting our first snow. Enough about snow lets move onto the card. I really wanted to show off our Shimmer Paint for this month's club projects so both use the Shimmer Paint in different ways. I started with a Real Red Card Stock (102482) Base and stamped the three smaller snow flakes from Serene Snowflakes Stamp Set (115438) in Versamark (102283) randomly over the top of the card. I then added the Striped Designer Paper from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper (116770). This paper is so pretty and shimmery it goes perfectly with the Shimmer Paint and I love the flocked designs that are also part of this Designer Series Paper Pack. I did use the Scallop Edge Punch (112091) on the top edge of the Designer Series paper before I added it to the card. I added the be merry which is from the Warm Words Stamp Set (115108). It was stamped in Real Red Classic Ink (103133) and then punched out with the Large Oval Punch (107305). The main image is the largest snowflake from the Serene Snowflakes Stamp Set. I inked up the image with Real Red Classic Ink (103133) and then added Frost White Shimmer Paint (116854) with a Sponge Dauber (102892) over the Real Red Classic Ink. For club to save time I will mix a little Frost White Shimmer Paint with Real Red Reinker (103287) to make Real Red Frost Shimmer Paint to add directly to the stamp with a sponge dauber. This will save having to clean the stamp every time we ink it up and make the project go a little faster. After stamping the snowflake I added a Soft Suede Card Stock (115318) background layer. Before I added it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals (104430) I punched a slot in the lower left corner with the Horizontal Slot Punch (105089) this allowed me to thread my Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon (109070) through the slot and tie a knot there. The shimmer is a little hard to see in this picture but those of you attending Stamp Club tomorrow night will get to see it in person.

Autumn Tile

Good afternoon, If today's stamp set looks familiar it is because it is the Autumn Splendor that I used on yesterday's card. I held off on buying this set but now that I have it I am really enjoying using it. I love how the leaves look so real. I have stamped on tiles before and I love the look of it but the way I have done it before I was limited to using Stazon for the images then coloring them in Pastels then adding a sealer, but since Stampin'Up! has introduced the new Shimmer Paint the way I stamp on tile has changed and it has opened new and exciting options. The two tiles I am showing you were each made a little differently. The above tile was my first one and while I like how it turned out it was rather time consuming because the stamps had to be cleaned about every use. Before I get to far ahead of myself let me explain how the first tile was made then I will explain how I made the process easier. I started with a clean ceramic tile found at most home improvement stores. I inked up my largest leaf with Classic ink, yes I did say classic ink, then I used a sponge dauber to add Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to the inked up image. I stamped on the tile. Cleaned the stamp and repeated the process until I got the look I desired. I used Pumpkin Pie, Dusty Durnago, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede Classic Inks. To color in the acorns I used an Old Blender Pen and mixed a little Soft Suede Reinker and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and by picking up the Soft Suede Shimmer Paint I was able to color in the acorns.

Now because I wanted this tile to be easy for a group of people to make I need to make the process just a little less work, so I made the second tile. The colors are the same, but instead of inking the stamp then adding the shimmer paint I simply added one drop of reinker to a little shimmer paint to make my own colored shimmer paint. I then added the paint to the stamp with a sponge dauber and stamped. I again colored in the acorns with an old Blender Pen but by adding the Reinker to the Shimmer Paint I didn't have to clean each stamp between restamping. Plus since the shimmer paint dries and seals the color right in. I did speed up the drying process with the Heat Tool but you could also just let it set over night. Add a few felt pads to the bottom and you have a perfect Thanksgiving Trivet to show off. Shimmer Paint

Good morning, I know that I was going to share with you another Halloween project but after playing with the new Shimmer Paint I just couldn't resist letting you see this card. Now the layout and design are very simple but I wanted it that way to show off the shimmer paint that I used through out this card. I am in love with all that this paint offers and I am sure that you will see more of it in upcoming projects. I took pictures of the same card at various angles trying to capture the shimmer of the snowflakes but nothing really does it justice except seeing it in real life. The base of the card is Bashful Blue Card Stock (105120) with a layer of Night of Navy Card Stock (100867). For the main image I used the Snow Swirl Stamp Set (111690), it was one of my favorites last year and still is this year. I just love the snow flakes. I inked up the larger snowflake with Night of Navy Classic Ink (102977) then used a Sponge Dauber 102892) to add Frost White Shimmer Paint (116854) directly over the Classic ink then stamped onto the Whisper White Card Stock (100730). I cleaned the stamp and repeated the process a couple of more times. Then used Ballet Blue (100907) and Bashful Blue (105209) on the other two snowflakes. I also stamped some snowflakes with just the Frost White Shimmer Paint on the stamp and no color. It added a transparent image that is quite pretty. You can see the shimmer better in the second picture at the left. I also added shimmer to the sentiment before I stamped it and punched it out with the Scallop Oval Punch (114889) and layered it on the Night of Navy Wide Oval Punch (112082) out. It is really hard to tell in the pictures but I also added White Frost Shimmer Paint to the Bashful Blue Grosgrain Ribbon (109029). The Paint can be used on fabrics and I just couldn't resist trying it. After I added it to the ribbon I just used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying process and heat set it.
I have so many ideas in mind for the new Shimmer Paint and since I purchased all three colors I will have to try them all. Would you like to try the new Shimmer Paint?
