Friday Favorites 11/30

Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We enjoyed a day with family which is always nice. Today is our Friday Favorites and while I am sharing our embossing folders with you. I love how they can really step up a card, my real Friday favorite is the feeling you get and give when you receive a hand stamped card. As a stamper I can make a card that expresses joy, encouragement and so much more. This card is going to a special friend who needs just a pick me up and I think we all need those from time to time. Now onto the supplies. The colors are Raspberry Ripple and Smoky Slate. The Embossing Folder is Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing folder. Did you know that are embossing Folders are only $7.95 and you can use them for more than just dry embossing. I will have some idea for you next week. The rest of the supplies are: Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set, Really Good Greetings Stamp Set, Deco Labels Framelits, Whisper White Card Stock, and Whisper White Organza Ribbon sponged with Smoky Slate Ink.  I am going to be offering this card in January at my Thinking of you Class. Friday Framelits Oh, Christmas Tree

November Stylin' Stampin' Squad Hop!

 Thank you so much for joining us for the November Stylin’ Stampin’ Squad Blog Hop! This month our projects focus on Christmas. While we have yet to give thanks this month, some of us are already thinking about sending Christmas cards, what kind of packaging to present gifts in and how we want to deck our halls. Are you ready for a couple of quick projects that will add just a little bit of extra sparkle to your holidays? Then check out my card and gift bag below. The card came together fairly quickly and would be a fun one to make multiples of if you are still looking for a card design for this year. The supplies are: Smoky Slate Card stock, Pool Party Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Top Note Bigz Die, Northern Flurry Embossing Folder, Expressions Thinlits Dies, Frosted Finishes Embellishments, 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack and Silver Glimmer Paper.

For my 3D items I decided to dress up a plain white gift bag. You know you have some around the house and these happen to be retired Stampin'UP! bags from years ago that I found in my stash. I used the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack again and cut out strips to go across my bag to make "ribbon". I then used the Gift Bow Bigz Die (which is on sale this week) to cut out my bow and I added Frosted Finishes Embellishment to the center of the bow before I added it to my bag. I sponged the edges of the bag just a bit with Pool Party Ink to make the bag stand out a bit more but really it is rather simple and now all I need is a gift for the bag.

Tape Technique

Hello and welcome to my blog. I hope you are ready for a fun new Technique that I have to share with you today. It is the masking tape technique but I didn't use masking tape on either of my projects. I used Washi Tape and Duct Tape. The first project I used Washi Tape to make the plaid background. I used two different pieces of tape that were slightly different in width and I would ink up one with Chocolate chip then leave it on the paper while I then added the piece with the Cajun Craze. I would leave that piece and then add the Chocolate Chip piece on the other side moving across the card stock until I had reached the end. I then did the same thing going perpendicular to the first rows. It created this neat plaid design.  

One the second card I took a piece of Duct tape and tore it into three strips length wise and then used the ink pads to add the stripes. You can see the difference in the texture of the duct tape which is fun. I will have to find my masking tape to see what I can create with it. November Card Sketch

Hello and welcome to our November Card Sketch Day. I decided to make a Thanksgiving Card to share with you. If you check out the SSINKspiration Blog then you can see all the wonderful cards that the team made and join us by linking up your own card for our sketch. 

For my card I used colors from the Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper and went from there.

INKspiration CASE

Hello and welcome! Today the design team are all doing a CASE of our own card. I decided to make a Christmas version of the Thanksgiving Card I shared last week. This one has a bit more bling and details but the design is the same. My color might be just a bit off but I will try and fix that later when the lighting it better. November Color Challenge

It is the first Monday of the month and time for a little color challenge over at our SSINKspiration Blog. The colors for this month are Baked Brown Sugar, Cajun Craze and Crisp Cantaloupe. I started to go fall or Thanksgiving Themed but then decided to make this Western Inspired card instead. I used the Bootiful Occasions Stamp Set and the Positively Chevron Stamp.
