Best Wishes & More

Good afternoon, I am finally back with my card project for today. I am pulling out the retiring items and using them before June 30. Today's card uses the retiring Stamp Set Best Wishes & More and the retiring Designer Series Paper Thoroughly Modern Paper. I also used Rose Red, Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Polka Dot Impressions Folder on the base of the card stock and then added the DSP across the middle. The envelope on the card was made with the Big Shot and Scallop Envelope Die. I stamped a few hearts with Versamark and added 1/4" Grosgrain Whisper White Ribbon tied around the middle. The pull out message is also made using the Scallop Envelope Die and Rose Red Card Stock. I stamped the Heart again on the Whisper White Card Stock with Rose Red Classic Stamp Pad. The sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede Classic Ink to finish off the front of the card. Fun Flower Card!

Hello! After making the felt basket yesterday I started thinking about making a card with the same colors and basic idea, so I started on this simple 3 1/4x 3 1/4" card this morning then while I was blog hopping I came across a wonderful idea by Heather Summers for a progressive card. Now I had made progressive scrapbook pages but never a card so this idea seemed like fun and I turned my 3 1/4 x 3 1/4" card into a full 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card. Nothing to complicated about either card. The supplies I used were Melon Mambo Card Stock, Tempting Turquoise Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Melon Mambo Patterns Designer Series Paper, Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad, Filigree Designer Brads, Silver Brads, Stampin'Up! Baskets and Blooms Bigz XL Die, Big Shot, Mat Pack, Paper-Piercing Tool, Scallop Trim Border Punch, and Thank you Kindly Stamp Set (which is free until March 31 with a $50 purchase). I did do a little sponging on the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" Melon Mambo Card Stock base just to give it a more finished look. Vintage Razzleberry

Hello, I had a workshop this weekend and one of the cards that we made was this one. I really love these colors together and this set is so pretty. The stamp set is Vintage Vogue and I used the coordinating wheel Very Vintage. The colors for the card are Kraft Card Stock, Rich Razzleberry Card Stock, Pale Plum Card Stock, Close to Cocoa Card Stock and Very Vanilla Card Stock. Ink colors are Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad, Pale Plum Classic Stampin' Pad and Close to Cocoa Classic Stamp' Pad. We also used the new Very Vanilla 5/8" Satin Ribbon and the Modern Label Punch. The punch was layered on the Big Shot Movers and Shapers Coordinating Modern Label Die. See how nicely they layer. Just a few dimensionals and this card is ready to send. I love the sentiment "Life Happens. Love Helps." Do you know someone that could use a few words of encouragement? More Vintage Vogue

Good morning, what a dreary yucky day. I hope that this weather doesn't affect all the activities that our family has planned for this weekend. I really want Spring to arrive, but enough about the weather. I have a new card to share with you today. It has a lot of detail to it and was fun to make. Lets get started with the supplies: Vintage Vogue Stamp Set ( wood mount 117690 or clear mount 118598), Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel (117693), Jumbo Handle (103661), Kraft Card Stock (102125), Not Quite Navy Card Stock (101722), Rich Razzleberry Card Stock (115316), Very Vanilla Card Stock (101650), Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad (102277), Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad (115659), Not Quite Navy Classic Stampin' Pad (103008), Close to Cocoa Classic Stampin' Pad (103139), Old Olive Stampin Write Marker (100079), Close to Cocoa Stampin' Write Marker (100072), Kraft Taffeta Ribbon (109068), Eyelet Border Punch (113692), Crimper (101618)

The base is of course Kraft Card Stock which I rolled the Very Vintage Wheel across the bottom of the card. I then used the Eyelet Border Punch to make a Not Quite Navy Strip to go across the center of the card. This was Crimped before I added it to the card. I used Sticky Strip to attach the Not Quite Navy Card Stock to the card folding it as I went to give it a ruffled looked. I then added the Kraft Taffeta Ribbon around the card and tied it with a knot. I stamped the Life Happens. Love Helps. first on the Very Vanilla Card Stock then used the Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the vine and stamp it twice on the Very Vanilla Card Stock. I then stamped the flowers and leaf on scrap Very Vanilla and cut them out with my paper snips. They were added to the card with Mini Glue Dots and Stampin Dimensionals and there you have the finished card. It looks more complex than it is.

Vintage Hearts

Good Morning! I hope that you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. The kids and I spent the day at my Grandma's house with family. It was a great way to spend the day. So today I am back with another card that was made with the I {heart} Hearts Stamp Set that is in the Occasions Mini. I am working on a class using this stamp set and wanted it to be just traditional cards, because this set really is more than a Valentine's Day set. So I once again started with a base of Kraft Card Stock and added some texture with the Texture Plates Kit #4 and the Big Shot Die Cut Machine. Then I used the Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pad to drag ink across the raised textured area. This just adds to the vintage feel of the card. I used Rich Razzleberry Card Stock for the panel on the left side of the card. I bought the I {heart} Hearts Stamp Set in clear mount so I used several of the hearts and Block I to make a background stamp. I inked up with the Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad and stamped the images twice. I then used the Scallop Trim Border Punch along one side and used SNAIL Adhesive to attach it to the card. I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set to make the Thinking of you Tag. I stamped on Very Vanilla Card Stock with Close to Cocoa Classic Ink. The tag was made using two punches the Modern Label Punch and the Medium Jewelry Tag Punch. I added Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon and Linen Thread to attach the tag. I still thought the card needed something so I added a few buttons from the Button Latte Designer Buttons. They also have Linen Thread tied through the holes to finish them off. January Thank You's

Hello and happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. It was a busy one at our house but a good one just the same. With the start of the new year comes resolutions or things we would like to do better. It is also a time to make changes in my business and try and improve on things. So this year I have decided to not only send more cards but to send cards to my customers more. Starting this month anyone who places an order with me during the month will recieve a card in the mail as a thank you. I have decided to write a note in each on a post it note that way the receiver can use the card themselves for personal use. So today I designed a couple of cards to say thank you. I used quite a few Sale-a-bration items on the cards. I really like the selection this year for Sale-a-bration and what better way to show them off than to actually use them. No hording supplies for me this year either. The first card uses a Kraft Card Stock (102125) Base with Polka dots added using the Big Shot and the new Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder (117335). Is is so easy to add just a few Polka dots or make the whole card front polka dotted with this folder. I added Welcome Neighbor Designer Series Paper (118401) which is free with a $50 merchandise order. I used the new Scallop Trim Punch (118402) which is also a Sale-a-bration item. I used Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon (115611) and the Sale-a-bration stamp set Vintage Labels in Clear Mount (119122). I used the Scallop Circle Punch (109043) and the 3/4" Circle Punch (107217) for the sentiment which was popped up with Dimensionals.

The second card uses similar supplies with the exception of the base which is Melon Mambo (115320), the ribbon which is Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon (115614) and the punch which is the Curly Label Punch (112208) and the Curly Label XL Bigz Die (114506). I will be making some other Thank you cards with similar supplies but a little different layout. Finally Back!

Good afternoon, I hope that you all had a great Halloween. It was a busy week but I really enjoyed all the activities that we did. The kids had fun trick or treating and came home with lots of candy. I am finally back to being able to stamp so today I decided to make a card using the Polished Stone Technique but it has sort of a twist because instead of using Metallic Reinker I used the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to add some shine to my project. Because I really wanted to show off the Polished Stone I kept the accessories to a minimum and just used Kraft Taffeta Ribbon. I played around with adding a sentiment but decided on this card less was definitely more. In the top picture you can see more of the shimmer but even that picture doesn't show off the true shimmer of the Shimmer Paints. The base of the card is Kraft Card Stock (102125). I used Soft

Suede (115663), Dusty Durango (115660)and More Mustard (101962) Reinkers to make the Polished Stone Background. If you haven't tired the Polished Stone Technique before it is quite easy to do. You start with Glossy White Card Stock (102599), then you wet a cotton ball with Rubbing Alcohol and add a few drops of reinker to the cotton ball. Usually I use one to two drops of two different colors then one drop of Silver or Gold Reinker. For this card I instead used one drop of the three colors then just sponged the cotton ball all over the Glossy White Card Stock blending until you get the desired look. Be careful not to over blend as it can make the colors muddy looking. After the Glossy White Card Stock as dried (this step doesn't take long because of the Rubbing Alcohol) then I used a sponge dauber to add the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (116806). I used my Heat Tool (100005) to speed up the drying process. After the Shimmer Paint was dry I added leaves from the Autumn Splendor Stamp Set (116503) and used Basic Brown Classic Ink (104315) to stamp them directly on the Polished Stone Sheet. I then finished the card by adding a little Dusty Durango Card Stock (115321) to the top and bottom of the Polished Stone Sheet. The bottoms of the Polished Stone Sheet and the Dusty Durango were torn to add a little distressing to the card and I added a knotted piece of Kraft Taffeta Ribbon (109068) around the bottom.

Red, White and Suede?

Good morning, did you think I had left and forgot to tell you? I have been crazy busy trying to get ready for convention and preparing all my swaps. I am so excited to be going and even more excited to share all the great swaps with you that I receive when I get back. For those of you that are local, I will be holding a convention night after I get back to share it all with you!
After working for several days on various cards I finally decided that I had to do some fun stamping. I had just received the Medallion Background Stamp (115223) in a order this week and have been anxious to ink it up! I decided to go with a patriotic theme and also try out the new Soft Suede In Color. I haven't used this color much but I have been wanting too. The card is pretty simple and would be great if you have a lot of thank you cards you would like to make or even thinking of you, birthday or just any other sentiment. Now for the recipe. The base is Soft Suede Card Stock (115318), then a layer of Real Red Card Stock (102482). The Medallion Background is stamped twice on Confetti White Card Stock (102028) once in Soft Suede Classic Ink (115657) and then again after cleaning the stamp in Brocade Blue Classic Ink (100907). I punched out the center of the Brocade Blue Image with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch (112004) and layered that on the Soft Suede Image. I used a Square Red Fire Rhinestone Brad (109112) in the center of the image to add a little extra bling. The sentiment is the Elegant Thank You Stamp (114484) and I just simply inked up the Thank you with the Brocade Blue Stampin' Write Marker (100064) and lined the image up with the Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049) and stamped it exactly where I wanted it. There you have the finished card, very simple yet special.

Moving on through!

Moving on through the club cards that is! Happy Monday morning, I hope you all had a great weekend. We did at our house, it was a relaxing weekend for the most part which is always great! Today I want to share with you the last club card we made this month and also show you an alternate card that I made with the same design and similiar supplies. Now I must admit that when the Stampin'Up! Movers & Shapers Curly Label Die (114506) came out it was one that I easily passed by. I just didn't see enough options for me in it, but when I saw the new Stampin'Up! Punch Windows Movers & Shapers (115953) that coordinates with four of our punchs I knew then that it was a must have. I love the ease of cutting out the cards d am already thinking about what else I can add to the windows. Now for those of you that haven't used the Movers & Shapers Dies the fun part it that the punch shapes are movable. So you can put the window at the top, bottom, center, left or right of your card front. The card is pretty straight forward so I am just going to list the supplies used:

After making the first card I just couldn't resist making this second one with the left over Rich Razzleberry cut out. The layout is exactly the same I just used Old Olive Card Stock, Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad (102277) , Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (109054) and the Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies Die (114507).

Birthday Birdie

Okay on to today's card, as told you yesterday it again uses the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (115675). The layout came from an ad in a Card Magazine I was looking through this month. I liked the simplicity of it and decided it would make a nice Birthday Card. The card base is just simply Whisper White Card Stock (100730) that I ran through the Big Shot (113439) with the Stampin'Up! Background 1 Texturz Plates (114512) to add the polka dots. The scallop circle is also made with the Big Shot and the Stampin'Up! Pennant Bigz xl die (113483). I used Rich Razzleberry Card Stock (115316) for the scallop circle. I stamped the Birthday Birdie from the Pun Fun Stamp Set (115054) in Basic Gray Classic Ink (109120) on Whisper White Card Stock. Using the Aquapainter(103954) and the following Classic Ink colors (Rich Razzleberry 115658, Crushed Curry 115659, Pumpkin Pie 105216) I watercolored the bird. After it was watercolored I used the 1 3/4" Circle Punch (112004). The circle was mounted to the scallop circle with adhesive. I cut two pieces of different prints from the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and the bottom one was attached directly to the bottom of the base. The top piece I used the Mat Pack (105826) and the Paper-Piercing Tool (116631) to make small holes on both ends. This allows me to add Silver Brads (104336) and then attach the strip with Dimensionals. I also attached the scallop circle with dimensionals. I stamped the Happy Birthday on the card last using Basic Gray Classic Ink and the new Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set (115370). This set of 24 stamps includes sentiments for all occasions including holidays, graduation, new baby, and sympathy just to name a few also the sentiments all can be punched out with the new Modern Label Punch (116630). Lemonade and Bees

Good morning! I finished this card and another one (I'll show you it tomorrow)yesterday but because of the lighting last night I couldn't get a good picture. This still isn't the best picture but after taking 15 of this card I figured it wasn't going to get better. I am using the new colors and Designer Series Paper but since I haven't bought any of the new stamp sets yet I am going through some of my older ones and getting them back out to use. With the flowered design in the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP I thought Bees would be perfect. What else would you find next to all those pretty flowers and bright colors but Bees. The base of the card is Rich Razzleberry Card Stock (115316) with a square of Melon Mambo Card Stock (115320) layered on top. I used the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (115675) to make the three panels that I placed on top of the Melon Mambo Card Stock. I stamped the Beehive and the Bees from Just Buzzin' By (113228) on Watercolor Paper (105019) in Soft Suede Classic Ink (115657). I used the Aquapainter(103954) and Crushed Curry Classic Ink (115659), Melon Mambo Classic Ink (115656)m and Soft Suede Classic Ink to color in the stamped images. After cutting them out I used dimensionals to attach them to the card. The sentiment is also from the Just Buzzin' By Stamp Set. It is actually one long sentiment but I wanted it to fit the Large Oval Punch(107305) so I used the Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Marker (116329) to color the part that I wanted stamped, cleaned the stamp, inked up the rest and stamped again. This was layer on the a Pumpkin Pie Card Stock (105117) Scallop made using the Scallop Oval Punch (114889). That finished off the card, inside I will add Hi! and the card is ready to send. In Color Cards

Good morning to all! Sorry I didn't post more pictures on my Uncle Sam post yesterday. We had a busy day at our house and since the weather was so beautiful we spent quite a bit of time outside. I did do some creating last night after most of the kids were in bed. DD has been staying up later this summer and she actually kept me company while I did these cards and helped with ribbon colors and such. I really wanted to show you some of the new In Colors but also wanted quick cards that would work in all the colors. Then I remembered our Decor Elements Stencil that I got a while back. Did you know that we have stencils in the Decor Elements Line? We do and Stampin'Up! has added seven new ones in the new Decor Elements Catalog (which can be downloaded on the left of the screen). I used Kind Thoughts Brocade (116572) which is the small size. Each card uses one of the New Incolors

with the first one I made being Rich Razzleberry Card Stock(115316). I used Dotto (103305) to hold the stencil in place then I sponged the Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink (115658) all over the stencil. When I had the coverage I wanted I simply removed the stencil, wiped off the adhesive from the Dotto and the card was ready to finish. I stamped the for you from Fresh Cuts (111634) on either Whisper White or Kraft Card Stock depending on the card and punched it out with theLarge Oval Punch (107305). On the Rich Razzleberry Card I added White Taffeta Ribbon(109070) and tied a knot. This card is simple but has an elegant feel about it. Perfect for mass producing and having on had for almost any occasion. Here is the list of colors that I used on the three other cards. Last Day!

Good morning, today is of course the last day to order from the Spring Summer 2009 Idea & Catalog. If you would like to place an order you can do so online or by calling me.
I have added a new button on the left side of my blog. It is a Stampin'Up! Color Combo Site. If you have ever wondered what color combo to use or just want to stretch yourself a little this is a fun site. You simply pick a couple of colors and then hit search and it will give you potential color combos. All colors are Stampin'Up! colors and you can even just click surprise me and see what color combo it gives you. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Now on to today's card. I started this card on Sunday night. With our days being so busy I have found that I do most of my creating late at night after the kids are in bed or first thing in the morning before they get up. I guess I just like it quiet. The base of this card is the In Color Melon Mambo(115320). The next layer is Kraft Card Stock (102125) which I stamped the stem from Fresh Cuts(111634) in Close To Cocoa Classic Ink (103139). I off stamped the Close to Cocoa first on in piece of scrap paper before stamping on the Kraft Card Stock. The main image is also from the Fresh Cuts stamp set and if a technique called Faux Linen. I am taking part in a Technique Swap at Convention this year and this is one of the techniques that I am doing. The Faux Linen is done with Glossy White Card Stock (102599). You sand the Glossy White Card Stock first one direction then the other. After you do this you wipe off the dust from the sanding and using a sponge and Craft ink you apply the ink to the card stock. I used Creamy Caramel Craft Ink (103034) on this card. After the craft ink as dried you can stamp over it which is what I did with Basic Brown Classic Stampin' Pad(104315). Using blender pens you can color the image using Melon Mambo (115656) and Rich Razzleberry (115658) Classic Stampin' Pads. The sentiment is stamped on Very Vanilla Card Stock(101650) and punched out with the Modern Label Punch(116630) which is available tomorrow and then layered on Chocolate Chip Card Stock (102128) which was cut out with the new Stampin'Up! Punch Windows (115953). This is the new items I mentioned yesterday that goes with the Stampin'Up! Movers & Shapers Curly Label Die. The Punch Window dies are used with the Curly Label Die and allows you to make four different window cut outs on your card fronts and the best thing is that they coordinate with four of our punches. How easy does that make them to use.
To finish off the card I matted the Faux linen image on a background of Rich Razzleberry Card Stock (115316). I used Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon(109065) around the center of the card and I attached the sentiment to the card with Vintage Brads(109109). I used my paper piercer and made the holes for the brads before I attached the Kraft card stock to the base. This allows my brad ends to be hidden between the two layers. I hoped that you enjoyed today's card. Tomorrow is of course the start of the new catalog and ordering doesn't start until Noon Mountain Time. Monday Morning Sneak Peak

Good morning! I hope that you all had a great weekend. We had two baseball games and two wins. One more game tonight and the regular season is over. Then it is tournament play next week.The summer is going by so quickly and of course in just two days we will kick off a new Catalog. If you would still like to receive a copy please let me know. I still have some extras. Now of course you didn't come by today to hear about baseball so I have a sneak peak card to share with you today. Actually some is new and some is old. I am loving this color combo of Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry. They look so elegant together. The base of the card is Rich Razzleberry Card Stock (115316) cut 4 1/4" x 11. The card stock is then placed on the Stampin'Up! Movers & Shapers Curly Label Big Shot Die (114506) and placed in the Big Shot (113439). This Die not only scores and cuts your card stock but it also cuts a window in your card so allow a message or image to show through. On this card the cut out matches with our Curly Label Punch and the cut out can be moved any where on the front of your card. How cool is that. I just recently bought this die after seeing one of the new items in the catalog. I can't say more until Wednesday but it made this die a must for me. Now I do want you to know that the die is going up in price on Wednesday by $3 so if you want to order one before the price increase please do so soon. Now back to the card. I stamped the Love You image from Dreams du Jour (111624). I used a blender pen and Rich Razzleberry (115658), Melon Mambo (115656) and Old Olive (102272) Classic Stampin' Pads to color the flower. The image was then punched out with Curly Label Punch (112208). I used SNAIL adhesive to attach the label inside the card so that is showed through the window. The Old Olive Patterns Designer Series Paper(112160) is in both the current catalog and the new catalog so I used a leftover piece on this card. I scalloped the edge with our Scallop Edge Punch (112091). Now those of you that have the new Catalog are probably wonder where the Rich Razzleberry Solid Ribbon is well is is actually the 1/2" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon that is Polka Dot on one side and solid on the other. This gives you two options and I really liked the solid on this card. It was pretty each to tie the knot so that the polka dots didn't show. This is just one of the wonderful ribbons that is included in my Ribbon Share (see post below for more info). All items are available to order after Noon Mountain Time on Wednesday.
