Finally Back!

Good afternoon, I hope that you all had a great Halloween. It was a busy week but I really enjoyed all the activities that we did. The kids had fun trick or treating and came home with lots of candy. I am finally back to being able to stamp so today I decided to make a card using the Polished Stone Technique but it has sort of a twist because instead of using Metallic Reinker I used the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to add some shine to my project. Because I really wanted to show off the Polished Stone I kept the accessories to a minimum and just used Kraft Taffeta Ribbon. I played around with adding a sentiment but decided on this card less was definitely more. In the top picture you can see more of the shimmer but even that picture doesn't show off the true shimmer of the Shimmer Paints. The base of the card is Kraft Card Stock (102125). I used Soft

Suede (115663), Dusty Durango (115660)and More Mustard (101962) Reinkers to make the Polished Stone Background. If you haven't tired the Polished Stone Technique before it is quite easy to do. You start with Glossy White Card Stock (102599), then you wet a cotton ball with Rubbing Alcohol and add a few drops of reinker to the cotton ball. Usually I use one to two drops of two different colors then one drop of Silver or Gold Reinker. For this card I instead used one drop of the three colors then just sponged the cotton ball all over the Glossy White Card Stock blending until you get the desired look. Be careful not to over blend as it can make the colors muddy looking. After the Glossy White Card Stock as dried (this step doesn't take long because of the Rubbing Alcohol) then I used a sponge dauber to add the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (116806). I used my Heat Tool (100005) to speed up the drying process. After the Shimmer Paint was dry I added leaves from the Autumn Splendor Stamp Set (116503) and used Basic Brown Classic Ink (104315) to stamp them directly on the Polished Stone Sheet. I then finished the card by adding a little Dusty Durango Card Stock (115321) to the top and bottom of the Polished Stone Sheet. The bottoms of the Polished Stone Sheet and the Dusty Durango were torn to add a little distressing to the card and I added a knotted piece of Kraft Taffeta Ribbon (109068) around the bottom.

No Stampin' but Still a Craft Project

Hi everyone, no I haven't dissappeared as it has seemed this week. As I mentioned in my last post this has been a busy week. I have been doing some craft projects but they haven't been stamping related unless you count the treat boxes I made for the kids in three of my children's classes. I have been sewing this week and since I didn't have any stamping items to share I thought you might enjoy seeing my lastest creation. This is my oldest son and he is wearing this costume tonight at our STUCO Haunted House. I am really proud of how well it turned out. Treats for the kids!

Happy Monday morning, this is a super busy week so if my post are hit and miss you will know why. I am making treat bags for three of my four kids classes for their Halloween Parties. My kindergartener wanted a specific box for his treats. He asked that I use the Fancy Favors Die and the Build-a-Bear Halloween die.

I started with the Stampin'Up! Fancy Favor Die (115965) and cut it out in Basic Black Card Stock (106532). The Bear Body was cut out in Close to Cocoa Card Stock (101341) with the Stampin'Up! Bear Bigz Die (117977). His muzzle is Creamy Caramel Card Stock (102514). The Pumpkin was cut out in Pumpkin Pie Card Stock with Stampin'Up! Kooky Spooky Orginals Die (117979). I added a 1 3/4" Circle Punch (112004) of Summer Sun Card Stock (103124). I added the pieces with glue dots then added the bear to with Stampin' Dimensionals. I am still trying to decide if I want to add a handle or not. I will be back in a little while with the Deal of the Week. Stay tuned for that.

Autumn Wreath

Good morning, what a rainy dreary day it is. The perfect day to stay inside and stamp! At least is seems so to me, now if I can just get some stamping done today. Yesterday I mentioned a fall card I was working on well I finished it and am going to share it with you today. Stampin'Up! is great about sharing ideas with us that fellow Demonstrators have discovered and today's card is one of those ideas. Barbara Goetz submitted a Christmas card using the Autumn Days set to make a wreath and after seeing it a decided to make one of my own but I went with fall colors and thought it would make a perfect Thanksgiving card. The card itself went together quickly and it has just enough detail to make it really stand out. I even used one of this weeks Deal of the Week 1/2" Library Clips. Now before I get to far into the card let me start at the base. I started with a base of Kraft Card Stock (102125), then I added strips of card stock in Chocolate Chip (102128), Pumpkin Pie (105117), Crushed Curry (115319) and Dusty Durango (115321). These were just cut in random widths and then the ends were cut at an angle and they were placed on the card. The main image is a Very Vanilla Card Stock (101650) that is cut in a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2" square. I started with Soft Suede Classic Ink (115657) and stamped the berry image from Autumn Days Stamp Set (115452) four times making a square. Then I stamp the same image again with Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink (105216), but when I stamped the second time I rotated the card stock and stamped it at the corners of the square. This step was repeated two more times with the Crushed Curry (115659) and Dusty Durango (115654)Classic Ink each time stamping slightly off from the layer before. This makes a circle image. I finished off the wreath with a 1/4" Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon (109030) bow and added it to the wreath with a Mini Glue Dot. The image was then added to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I wanted to add a Happy Thanksgiving sentiment and I of course pulled out my Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set (115370). This set is an must for me as it has a sentiment for every occasion. If you haven't purchased this set I highly recommend that you do! I stamped Happy Thanksgiving in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink (100908) on Very Vanilla Card Stock and punched it out with the Word Window Punch (105090), then layered it on a Modern Label Punch (116630) made with Crushed Curry Card Stock. I added a Chocolate Chip 1/2" Library Clip (112581) to the left side and tied some Linen Thread (104199) around the Library Clip. I used more Stampin' Dimensionals to add my sentiment to the card. Then I decided the card needed some distressing so I used the Chocolate Chip Classic Ink Pad and simply drug it across the edges of the card to give it a more rustic look. Santa Bear

Good morning, I am still on a Christmas theme for my card making but tomorrow expect a fall card as I have one almost finished that I will share with you then. For today's card I decided to use my Build-a-Bear Dies and turn him into a cute Santa complete with bag. He is just to cute and so super easy to make with the Big Shot. There is no stamping on this card at all. Let me start with the base. I used Real Red Card Stock (102482) cut to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 then folded in the middle to make the finished card 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. The next layer is Chocolate Chip Card Stock (102128) and is cut 4 1/8 x 5 5/8. Then I added a layer of Merry Moments Designer Series Paper (115672). Then I moved onto my Santa Bear. To make the Build-a-Bear you will need the Stampin'Up! Bear Bigz Die (117977) and Stampin'Up! Beary Merry Die (117980). I used Close to Cocoa Card Stock (101341) and Creamy Caramel Card Stock (102514) to make the bear. Then I used Real Red Card Stock (102482), Basic Black Card Stock (102851), Whisper White Card Stock (100730), Brushed Silver Card Stock (100712). I added a piece of Chocolate Chip Card Stock (102128) and Pretty in Pink Card Stock (100459) behind the bears face to add his eyes and mouth. I also did some sponging to add a little extra dimension. For Santa's Buttons on his jacket I added Black Brads(109109). To make Santa's Bag I used the Ornament Punch (116794) and rounded the bottom edge with the Wide Oval Punch (112082).I used Chocolate Chip Textured Card Stock (108697) and used Direct to Paper with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink. The bag was finished off Linen Thread and the bear and bag were added to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. Wouldn't you like to have your very own Santa Bear? Shimmer Angel

Good morning, I finally got a chance to work on something new yesterday and today's card is what I created. I had made the embossed scallop oval (made with the Big Shot and Frame Scallop Oval Die (114521) and Stampin'Up! Textured Impressions Folder Petals-a-Plenty (116824), a few weeks ago and set it aside when it didn't fit the card that I was working on but yesterday I got is back out and decided to sponge the poinsettias Real Red and from there the card just moved right along. The inside oval seemed like the perfect place to have the Angel from the Holy Triptych Stamp Set (110370). I know I have mentioned it before but I really love this set. I stamped the angel in Basic Gray Classic Ink (109120) and watercolored her with Blush Blossom (102609), Real Red (103133), and So Saffron (105213) Classic Ink and the Aquapainter (103954). I also used an old Blender Pen (102845) and the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (116806) to paint her wings, and highlight her dress and hair. I stamped the Peace on Earth from Four the Holidays Stamp Set (116921) on Whisper White Card Stock (100730) with Gold Encore! Pad (101017). After the image dried, I mixed 70% Rubbing Alcohol and more Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and made a Shimmer Mister to spray over the Scallop Oval, the Whisper White Angel Oval and the Sentiment to add some extra shimmer and shine. It makes the card stock look like Shimmer Card Stock (101910) only with a gold sheen. The base of the card is Real Red Card Stock (102482) with a layer of Burshed Gold Card Stock (102935) that I texturized with the Stampin'Up! Perfect Details Texturz Plate (115962). The Scallop Oval was added to the card with Mini Glue Dots (103683) and the sentiment and Angel were added with Stampin' Dimensionals (104430). I really wish the shimmer showed up better on the picture but know that in person this card has a lot of shimmer. Scrappin' Halloween

Hello! Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Yesterday I mentioned some Scrapbook pages that we had made the night before well today I am going to share those with you.
I will be the first to admit that I am way behind on my scrapbooking. I started stamping with the intentions to use it as a way to complete more scrapbook pages but also to have the color coordination that I really found lacking in other products, but after discovering the world of card making and Digital Photography I have found that I print less pictures. I would however love to change that and after making these two pages am eager to get some new Halloween pictures of my kiddos to finish this pages. So enough rambling from me and on to the pages. Both have similar layouts and start with 12x12 Perfect Plum Card Stock (107084). I love the fact that you can buy any of our 48 colors in 12 x 12 Card Stock! I used Sponge Daubers (102892) and sponged the edges of the Perfect Plum Card Stock with Perfect Plum Classic Ink (101437). Then I added a Pumpkin Pie Card Stock (107100) layer cut 6x12". On the Pumpkin Pie I used Versamark and stamped the bubbles from Halloween Hoot Stamp Set (111582). Halloween Hoot was the only stamp set used while making these pages. On both pages I added a 1"x 12" strip of Cast-a-Spell Designer Series Paper (115677). On the top page I also added 1/4" Black Grosgrain Ribbon (109027). Trick or Treat was cut out with the Big Shot and the Stampin' Up! Timeless Type Sizzlits Dies (115951). Having the Big Shot and a Alphabet set to use with it makes cutting out your titles so easy and you never have to worry about running out of a letter and with three J names at our house that is a big benefit! I added photo mats of various sizes in Old Olive Card Stock (100702). On the first page I cut out a circle with the Circle Scissor Plus (112530) and stamped the witch, sign and sentiment all with the Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049). They were colored with the Stampin' Write Markers in Basic Black (100082), Perfect Plum (100035), Old Olive (100079), Pumpkin Pie (105115), and Chocolate Chip (100071). On the second page I stamped with frog and cauldron with Stampin' Write Markers and cut them out and added them to the page with Stampin' Dimensionals. On the second page I also added a Whisper White Top Note for journalling. Both the circle and the top note were sponged with Perfect Plum Classic Ink. I added some Photo Corner (109042) Accents in Basic Black Card Stock (102851) and the pages are ready for pictures. Now if my kids Halloween costumes were ready for them.
