Convention Roomies!

I borrowed this picture from my wonderful roomies Facebook page with permission of course. :) I had the best time with my wonderful room mates. They were so much fun and even though only Sarah and I knew each other before we arrived in Salt Lake City it was like we knew each other forever. Thanks again ladies for letting me room with you. Let me know when we can do it again.

Tara was also kind enough to send me a photo of my Five Year Walk. I had been looking forward to this walk since last year when I realized that I couldn't do my walk. There were quite a few of us walking this year but every year is different. I can hardly wait to see what my ten year walk will be like. I know that it will be here before I am ready.
I have so much more to share with you but unfortunately it will have to wait for another day as I am ready to call it a night.
If you are interested in seeing more from Convention and are in the area then be sure and stop by my Convention Open House. I will have projects for you to do that are straight from Convention, card swaps to share and so much more. Thanks for stopping by! Tonya

New Technique Time

Hello, back again tonight with a new technique and swap card from Convention. I learned this technique from the August Stampin' Success that all demonstrators receive free just for being demonstrators. I received the magazine just a couple of days before I left for Convention and decided to give it a try. I love the look of the multicolored Hydrangea but didn't want to take the time to use the Stampin' Write Markers over and over again. With the Felt Stamp Pad technique you can stamp repeatedly and still get the multicolored look. You will need a piece of felt that is light colored, Jet Black Stazon Pad, Wild Wasabi Reinker, Pretty in Pink Reinker and Bashful Blue Reinker. Additional supplies for the card are Pretty in Pink Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Basic Black Card Stock, Pretty in Pink Classic Stamp Pad, Scallop Trim Coroner Punch, and 1/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon. If you are interested in learning this technique I will be doing it at Stamp Club in August so if you would like to attend please contact me and I will make sure that I have your supplies ready for you. Sorry for the short post but with VBS this week I am extra tired and ready to call it a night. Thanks for stopping by and I will share more picture from Convention with you tomorrow. Tonya

Recruit Crew Breakfast

Hello! If I haven't mentioned it in the last few posts I really enjoyed Convention and Stampin'Up! had so much planned for us while we were there. One of the highlights of the week was my walk for my Five Year Anniversary. I will soon have been a demonstrator for six years where has the time gone. I don't have any pictures to share at this time but hopefully one of my roomies will send me a picture so that I can share it with you. Stampin'Up! believes in recognizing their Demonstrators for their accomplishments and there are several Milestones you can Walk the Stage for.
Another great moment was our breakfast with Shelli and the corporate team. To attend the breakfast you needed to be a member of the Recruit Crew and sign up a new Recruit during a certain time period. I was thrilled to do both and get to attend the breakfast. We also received a pass to get advanced seating during the morning session after breakfast. This was our table of Demonstrators. Thanks ladies for the wonderful breakfast and most of all thank you Stampin'Up! for all that you did for us to make this years Convention a fun and memorable one. I will be back later with a card post for you but I wanted to start sharing some of the Convention pictures with you. I hope you enjoy hearing about Convention and remember it is never to early to start thinking about next year. I have the dates and would be happy to talk to you about joining my team so that you can attend next year.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day, Tonya

Cottage Garden Swap

Good evening! I am still a little tried from last week and this week is a busy week for our family again with VBS at our church. The kids and I are involved with some part and are having lots of fun. I am also getting ready for my Convention Open House which is Saturday from 1pm- 3pm at my house. Need directions just give me a call and I will be happy to give you directions. If you are attending please contact me so that I can have your projects cut and ready for you.
Today's card is another swap that I made for Convention. This swap was a new stamp set swap and we needed to use a stamp set that was new to this catalog and not a preorder set. I picked the new Cottage Garden Stamp Set and decided to pair is this some of our new In Colors, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, and Peach Parfait. I really like the new colors as they are so bright and cheerful. I also used the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder, Beautiful Butterflies Wings Embosslits Die and the Scallop Trim Coroner Punch. I also added a few of the new Basic Rhinestone Jewels. If you have any questions about this card or if you would like to place an order let me know. I am hoping to post some pictures tomorrow of convention and some of the projects that we did. I won't post everything in one day however so be sure and stop by again. Well, I am off for the night. Thanks for stopping by, Tonya

Fun New Hostess Set

Hello, wow what a week I have had. I returned from Stampin'Up! Convention last night and it was a great time. I have new ideas to try and lots of new card samples to share with you as well as ways to make my business better and help my downline with their business too. I have a lot of things to share with you but first let me tell you about a hostess special that starts July 27th and ends August 31. If you host a workshop that has a sales total before taxes and shipping of $350 or more you will receive an additional $25 in hostess benefits. This is on top of our other hostess benefits so you can get more free merchandise. I can't believe it! Want to host a workshop and earn free merchandise then give me a call and we will set up a date and time.
Today I want to share with you one of the swaps I took to Convention. I was making 50 of these cards so I decided not to watercolor the whole image but rather spotlight a small portion of it. I used Pretty in Pink Card Stock and added texture with the Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I also used Riding Hood Red Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock and Baja Breeze Card Stock. I used the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border on the Baja Breeze Card Stock. I used two stamp sets the new hostess set Birthday Bakery and All Holidays for the Happy Birthday Sentiment. I used the Stampin' Write Markers in Early Espresso, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, and Pretty in Pink to color the image I spotlighted. For the spotlighting I used the 1" Circle Punch and the 1 1/4" Circle Punch. Now usually for spotlighting I stamp the image twice and punch out the portion I want from the second image to use on the first, but I decided that instead of wasting paper and stamping the second image I would just punch out the portion I wanted from the main image and cover the hole with the Pretty in Pink 1 1/4" Circle, then the cake image. I also used the new 1/4" Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon on the card and paper pierced about the ribbon for extra interest. I have a few more swaps that I haven't shared with you yet and I am going to start working on new samples for August as well as workshop cards.
Thank you for stopping by today and if I can help you with any of your stamping needs just let me know. Thanks, Tonya

Christmas Time!

Hello! It is Friday and day two of Convention. I have two organized swaps today but I am only going to share my Christmas Card today. When the new catalog came out I fell in love with the Greeting Card Kids Stamp Set. It is just so vintage looking and the kids are super cute. This card uses a lot of layers, and accessories but I am thrilled at the way it turned out. It is time consuming but definitely worth it. So for the supplies, Crumb Cake Card Stock, Blushing Bride Card Stock, Riding Hood Red Card Stock, Very Vanilla Card Stock, Greeting Card Kids Stamp Set, Four the Holidays Stamp Set, Basic Gray Classic Stamp Set, Riding Hood Red Classic Stamp Pad, Wild Wasabi Classic Stamp Pad, So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker, Blush Blossom Stampin' Write Marker, Chocolate Chip Classic Stamp Pad, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Scallop Circle #2 Die, 2 1/2 Circle cut with the Circle Scissors, Victoria Crochet Trim, Eyelet Border Punch, Crimper, Chunky Essentials Glitter White. I used both 2 way glue and Crystal Effects to attach the glitter. It is hard to see in the picture but I used shaved Very Vanilla Card Stock to add a fur like trim to her coat and hat. There are so many details in this card, I made 25 of them and it took most of a day, but I would do it again and I can't wait to get 25 new Christmas Cards to share with you. It is never to early to start thinking about your Christmas Card designs. ;) Tonight we have a wonderful dinner and stampin' Evening planned. I will be sharing those projects after I get back from Convention. I can hardly wait. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by. Tonya

Delight In Friendship

Hello to all. This is the first day of Classes and Opening Session. The excitement is really hard to describe but it is so much fun. One of the swaps I sign up for at Convention is the Getting Started Collection Swap. For this swap we could only use the colors that were found in the Getting Started Collection. I decided to use Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, and Old Olive. I love this colors and they are so fun together. The stamp set is one of my favorites Vintage Vogue. I have used it so many times and still keep pulling it out to use over and over again. The other supplies are Whisper White Card Stock, Scallop Trim Border, and 1/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon.
I am going to keep this post short but if I can I will update later this evening. Remember that you can text or email me while I am away with any questions you might have and you can place orders online at my website. Tomorrow I will be sharing a Christmas Card with you that uses a fun new stamp set so be sure and stop by again. Oh, and if you want to make some of the fun projects that I am making while I am at Convention then be sure and attend my Convention Open House at my house on July 30 from 1-3pm. Have a great day, Tonya

July Club Card

Good morning, today is the first day of Convention and I am probably standing in line waiting for the Memento Mall to open. This starts the fun and excitement of Convention. If you would like to join me next year all you need to do is sign up to join me team and we can make the trip together. The line to get into Memento Mall is a great place to swap cards with all the other people and this year I am taking this card for one of my swap cards. We also made this card for our July Stamp Club and now I would like to share it with you. I pulled out the new products for this card and a technique that my club ladies found fun and easy. It is faux suede and the Basic Black strip across the card is done with this technique. The rest of the card consists of Crumb Cake Card Stock, Very Vanilla Card Stock, Daffodil Delight Card Stock, Jet Black Stazon Ink, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Newsprint Designer Series Paper, Black Brad, 1" Circle Punch and Artistic Etchings Stamp Set. The edges of the card stock are Distressed. I made 50 more of these for Convention with the help of my stampin' assistants. They were both big help with punching, stamping, and labeling. Well, I am off be sure and come back tomorrow when I will have another convention swap to share with you. If I get a chance I will update later today but today is a getting settled day and tomorrow starts all the real excitement and fun! Have a great day, Tonya

Blushing Hydrenga

Hello! I am getting ready to travel to Salt Lake City for Convention but I couldn't leave you with out a card or two to look at while I am gone. Today's card is one that we did for club last week. Each club member had their choice of either Blushing Bride or Marina Mist Card Stock and Ink colors. Most picked the Marina Mist and I will share that card another day but for today it is Blushing Bride. The layout is fairly simple but it uses a lot of fun new products. We used the Presto Patterns Designer Series Paper and using the Sponge Daubers the paper was sponged to match the card stock. Because it has has white embossing on the paper it resists the ink and allows it to show the design. The other supplies used are Blushing Bride Card Stock, Basic Black Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Because I Care Stamp Set, Jet Black Stazon Pad, Blushing Bride Classic Ink Pad, Wild Wasabi Classic Ink Pad, Oval Punch, 1/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon. We did decorate the inside of the card but I forgot to take a picture. :( I will add the inside picture when I show you the Marina Mist Card. The Because I Care Stamp Set is a new Hostess Set and since Hydrengas are my favorite flower I had to have it. You can have your own set to just by hosting a workshop of at least $150 or placing and order for the same amount. Call me to set up your workshop time and date. Thanks for stopping by and remember to check back again for more cards that I am taking to Convention with me. Have a great day, Tonya

Quick and Easy Birthday Card

Hello, well Convention is almost here and I am almost ready to start packing. I have been super busy with swaps which I hope to share with you over the next five days. I am still going to make a few more but those will keep for the airport and maybe even the hotel after I arrive. Today's card is a quick and easy Boy Birthday card that my two youngest sons needed for this last weekend. They really wanted a dirt bike and of course we have the perfect stamp for that. I am going to list the supplies and if you have any questions please let me know. Supplies used: Crumb Cake Card Stock, Riding Hood Red Card Stock, Night of Navy Card Stock, Very Vanilla Card Stock, Night of Navy Classic Stamp Pad, Riding Hood Red Classic Stamp Pad, Crumb Cake Stamp Pad, Silver Brads, Word Window Punch, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set, Extreme Dirt Bike Stamp, and Extreme Elements Stamp Set. Remember that you can text me on my cell while I am away or email me. My wonderful daughter has agreed to handle all messages at home and take care of orders that will be arriving while I am gone. She is such a great help and will make an awesome Demonstrator in just over 3 years time. Well, I am off to make dinner for my family then packing, possible design one more swap (yes, I do think it is a disease, once you swap you just can't stop) and then try and get some sleep so that I am ready for Convention and all that I am going to learn and bring back to you.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week, Tonya

Simple Artistic Etching

Hello, I haven't disappeared or anything but I have been bad about not posting this week. Sorry about that. I had club Tuesday night and we had a wonderful time and I have been busy making swaps. I have one more organized swap to make and then a few more generals swaps before I leave on Tuesday, add in our family activities and that doesn't leave much time to post. I will be writing post that will be published while I am gone, so at least the days I am away there will be new projects for you. The other day I was playing with the Artistic Etching Stamp Set and I decided I need a simple yet elegant card to showcase the new colors. This is one of the cards I came up with. The base is Basic Black Card Stock with a layer of Daffodil Delight Card Stock. I used the new (and my favorite right now) embossing folder Vintage Wallpaper to add a design to my Very Vanilla Card Stock. I only did the top portion so that I could stamp on the lower portion. I used Jet Black Stazon to stamp the design on the bottom. It is one stamp that I stamped three times across the card. It is super easy to line them up with the new Clear Mount Stamps. To finish off the card and cover the area where the stamping and embossed image meet I added a piece of 1/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon and there you have the finished card. Nothing to difficult yet it would be perfect to make a bunch for notes to teachers, friends or loved ones. I am off to bed it has been a long day and tomorrow will be more of the same. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day, Tonya

Introducing Blushing Bride!

Good morning, today I would like to introduce you to two new colors that Stampin'Up! introduced in the new catalog. The first is Blushing Bride and the second is Early Espresso. I am enjoying playing with all the new colors and trying out new combos. The new Color Coach is great for suggesting new color combos and there is even a place to add your own favorites. How sweet is that. Today's card is one that we made this weekend at my New Catalog Card Class. It is fairly simple but uses several new products and a new stamp set. The base card stock is the new In Color Blushing Bride and the ink color is also the same. The stamp set is Style Beautiful and is new and available in Clear Mount or Wood Mount. After stamping the biggest stamp on the bottom corner of the card I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White Card Stock then punched it out with the Wide Oval Punch and layered it with a Lots Of Tags Die cut from Early Espresso Card Stock. Early Espresso is a darker more rich color than Chocolate Chip. I added two of the new Basic Rhinestones Jewels that have adhesive on the back and are ready to add to any project. I can see myself using a lot of these. I finished off the card with Whisper White Organza and 1/8" Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon tied together into a knot. The 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon is a fun size to layer with some of our wider ribbons and is easy to tie. This week is going to be a busy week. I have Stamp Club tomorrow night and then I will be busy finishing up my swaps for Convention. It is hard to believe that I leave a week from tomorrow. I am looking forward to learning so much and bringing it all back to share with you. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day, Tonya

I Do!

Hello! This is a super quick card that sort of just came to me this afternoon as I was playing with my new stamp sets and other items that I received today. I do love the new colors and of course anything Big Shot is always great in my craftroom. Since I am getting ready to head out the door for my son's baseball game I am also going to keep this post super quick. The base of the card is Marina Mist (considering repainting my craftroom this color we will see ;) Then I used the new Elegant Lines Embossing Folder and the Big Shot to add the design on the card stock. Then with some Two Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds and Patience (we don't sell that in the catalog) I added the shimmer and shine to the design. I hope you can see it, in real life it really sparkles. Then I used the new Word Play Stamp Set and inked it up with the Marina Mist Classic Stamp Pad. I used Whisper White Card Stock then punched it out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch. There is Dazzling Diamonds on the diamond on the O of do and the card is finished. I decided it didn't need anything else because I really wanted the design to take center stage. Now if I just had a bride and groom to send it too. We have no weddings this year. :( Oh well, I am ready when I need one. Got to run or we will be late for the game. I hope to do some digital pages of the baseball season soon and I will share them with you when I do. Thanks for stopping by. Remember all supplies are Stampin'Up! and available to purchase through me. Have a great evening, Tonya

Protecting your Beautfiul Wings Die

Good morning, I will be back later with a new card project but first I wanted to make sure that you had this information that would help you protect the Beautiful Wings Big Shot Die. I really love the butterflies that this die makes. They are so perfect for cards including this one that shared earlier this year. The following was taken from the Demonstrator Website on how best to use your Beautiful Wings Die. Thanks and have a great day, Tonya

When you use the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, be sure to run the die through the Big Shot so that the hinge is opposite the Big Shot handle. This will help protect the hinge. Also, make sure that you and your customers are using tab 1 when you use the multipurpose platform.

It's a Case

Hello and Good morning! Sorry for being so bad about posting this week. I am fighting a cold or allergies (not sure which) and I has really drained my energy and motivation. Now this card is a case from the new Catalog and Idea Book. If you don't have a copy yet just let me know as I have a few copies left. I enjoy making quilt cards and this card is similar in that you use designer series paper and the Top Note Die but that is really were the similarities end. Since it is a fairly simple card I will just list the supplies used and if you have any questions leave me a comment and I will be happy to answer them. Card Stock: Real Red Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, and Baja Breeze. Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper. Perfect Punch Stamp Set, Real Red, Pear Pizzazz and Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Markers, Wide Oval Punch, Square Lattice and Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folders, Top Note, Big Shot, Lots of Tags Sizzlits 4 Pack Dies.

4th of July and Cherry Pie!

Ok, well it isn't really Cherry Pie but it is one of the newest colors that Stampin'Up! has added this year and I really am loving it! It is called Cherry Cobbler and I am not sure my picture really does it justice. It is much richer in person. I have been pretty bad about not stamping this week. Our family has been so busy with Baseball Tournament, Cross Country and I had a class earlier this week for a group of teenagers (which I loved working with) that today I really was feeling the need to stamp. Do you ever have days like that? You just get the urge to stamp and you just have to do it even if there is laundry, cleaning and all those chores to do. If you understand you are probably a demonstrator or should be. ;) So today's card is my salute to the 4th of July! I love the 4th and all that it means. For our family it is a time to get together and really enjoy being a family. Now when I say family I mean FAMILY! Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Parents, Grandparents, Kids Galore! It is a big celebration and my Brother and Sister-in-law host it. Sorry to get a little off track back to the card. I used three colors and wanted a vintage feel with this card. The Ink and Card Stock used are Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, and Night of Navy. I also used the Stamp Set July Fourth which includes the fireworks in the background and the sentiment set which was inked up with the Night of Navy Marker and the Cherry Cobbler Marker and punched out the the Curly Label Extra Large Punch. The Night of Navy ruffle was made by punching out the edge with the Eyelet Border Punch then running the card stock through the Crimper. I used a piece of Sticky Strip along the Cherry Cobbler Card Stock to attach the Night of Navy Card Stock, scrunching it as I went. The Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon was dyed with the Crumb Cake Marker to match the card. It looks a little darker in the picture but I think that is my camera. It looks really close in person. The final touch to the card was the Chunky Essentials White Glitter that I added with Two Way Glue to give the card that little extra touch. There you have my salute to the 4th. What do you think? Remember this stamp set is only available until the end of August so be sure and order yours so you can scrapbook your 4th of July pictures.
The new catalog went live yesterday and if you don't have a copy then let me know and I will be happy to help you. You can also view it online but I love to be able to take mine with me and look over it and check out all the great samples. Thanks for stopping by and have a safe and Happy 4th of July. Tonya
