Bye-Bye Elements of Style

Good morning, I am working on some retiring stamp set projects for later in the week but while you wait I thought I would share a few more swaps that I have received that are retiring. I don't know who made either of these as there are no names but if you made either please let me know and I will add your name. Both use the Elements of Style Stamp Set. I really like this set and have had so much fun colors it and doing different techniques with it. I have used it on tile and cards and scrapbook pages. It really is a great set. The first card uses a fun technique that I haven't tried. The main panel is stamped with the image that has been colored with markers then cut apart, sponged and reassembled to make it look like an amazing tile wall. There is a some shimmer added with Shimmer Paint (which is retiring also) and then the sentiment is added. The base color is Soft Suede with Very Vanilla.

 

The second card as a few retired products on it but I will focus on the stamp set for today. The image is stamped in the oval with Baja Breeze Ink (retiring) and then the hummingbird is cut out after it was stamped. The sentiment is from a different stamp set but any sentiment will do on this card. The embossing folder that was used on the scallop oval is Vintage Wallpaper and is my go to embossing folder and it is retiring. :-( I am going to miss that folder. Elements of Pink

Going through more blog archives and I came across this card that I didn't post or at least I don't think I did. So I thought I would share since I didn't get any pictures taken of the project I completed today. I will share it tomorrow. This is one of my favorite stamp sets and is a great set to own for so many reasons. For this card I used Pretty in Pink and stamped the floral image on the background. Then I used the Scallop Oval Frame and the Big Shot and cut out one Whisper White and one Pretty in Pink Scallop Oval and frame. I used the Square Lattice Embossing Folder on the Whisper White Layer and used Versamark and White Embossing Powder to stamp the floral image in the center of the Oval. I did a little sponging to highlight the flowers and finished the card off with a little Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon and the sentiment. If you have this set and haven't used it recently why not pull it and make a new card to send to someone special today. Shimmer Plum

Busy week at our house, I have had Stamp Club and Locker Caddy Classes this week and while I do have projects to share with you I just haven't found the time to take the pictures and edit them for publication. I hope to squeeze that in tomorrow. So for today I thought I would share a card I did a while back. There is a little bit of retired ribbon but other than that I think the card is easy to duplicate. Can you see all the sparkle on the card? That is from the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz that I added to the card. It really is pretty and adds so much to a card. The stamp set is Elements of Style which is one of my favorites. The colors that were used in the card are Perfect Plum, Old Olive and Basic Gray. I used the Aquapainter and the Classic Stamp Pads to color in the Floral Image. The design on the card base is also from the Elements of Style Stamp Set and is Perfect Plum Classic Ink on Perfect Plum Card Stock. The main image is cut out with the Top Note Die in Whisper White Card Stock and again with Basic Gray Card Stock. The Whisper White Top Note is trimmed so that it is smaller and layers with the Basic Gray Top Note. The Ribbon is Basic Gray Taffeta which is retired but the new Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon would work great in its place. If you have any questions about the card please leave me a comment. Elements of Style Scrapbook Page

Good afternoon, wasn't sure what I wanted to post today. I have been working on some new catalog projects and thought I would wait a little while to show you those so for today I am going to share a 6 x 6" Scrapbook page that we made in May for my Elements of Style Class. I love this set and find it to be very versatile. For most of my projects I have used the Floral image but for this one I thought the Hummingbird would make a nice accent. The supplies I used are Old Olive Card Stock, Ruby Red Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Old Olive Classic Stamp Pad, Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker, Ruby Red Stampin' Write Marker, Certainly Celery Stampin' Write Marker, Certainly Celery 5/8" Satin Ribbon, Curly Label Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL. After looking different types of hummingbirds online I finally decided to make mine by using the Stampin' Write Markers and inking up the head with Old Olive, the Chest with Ruby Red and the body first with Certainly Celery and then the edges again with Old Olive. Elements of Style Tile

Hello! I have been busy this week working on a couple of projects that aren't quite ready to share yet so I thought I would share a Elements of Style Ceramic Tile that I made recently. I had been wanting to make one of these since I got this set. Now of course life seemed to make it hard to find the time but I finally did squeeze in just a little bit of time. ;) I stamped the Floral Image with Black Stazon Ink and then colored all the images with my Stampin' Pastels. I really need to pull them out more and use them. I used Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink and Rose Red Pastels, then sealed the tile with a Acrylic Sealer. I tried the Vanilla Smooch but found out the hard way that it doesn't seal the tile. I was very sad to discover this as it meant I had to do the tile over again. I use a tile like this one with my Heat Tool. It gives me a safe surface to work on just allow your Sealer a couple of days to dry.

Red Toile by Kaylee

Hello, this as not been a stamping weekend but rather a cleaning weekend. Yuck! not my favorite activity but sometimes it does have to be done. Today I am sharing a card my Daughter did in the style of the one a shared last week. I really like the Real Red as it really makes me think of the Toile Fabrics that you see in so many design styles. This is also one of the cards that we will be making next week at my Elements of Style Class. If you would like to attend there are two options.

Elements of Style Take ?

I have several projects to share but unfortunately the weather is not cooperating as it has been rainy and yucky which does not make for good picture taking. So I will share with you the second project that we made for club this week. I know that I have been using this set a lot in the last few weeks but it really it my favorite set in the Summer Mini. It takes a little while to watercolor the whole floral image so for club we used Spotlighting to accent just a few of the flowers. To do this you need to stamp you image twice with Basic Gray Classic Ink Pad and then punch out one part of your image with one of the circle or even square punches. We used the 1 1/4" Circle Punch. We watercolored the punched out area with the Aquapainter and Old Olive, Cameo Coral and Ruby Red Classic Stamp Pads. We used the 1 3/8" Circle Punch to add a Old Olive Card Stock layer behind the 1 1/4" Circle. The Hummingbird was made using Rock n Roll. We inked up the hummingbird with Cameo Coral Classic Ink Pad and then rolled the edges on the Ruby Red Classic Ink Pad. We cut out the hummingbird then attached it to the card using a small piece of Whisper White Card Stock that was folded it into a Z shape and attached it to the card and hummingbird with a Mini Glue Dot. This makes the hummingbird appear to be in flight and give it movement. The base of the card stock is Cameo Coral and the swirl image was used on the base of the card stock. Ruby Red Card Stock that was layered behind the floral image has the bottom edge punched out with the Eyelet Border Punch. Just a quick reminder both Cameo Coral and Ruby Red are two of the retiring colors that are only available while supplies last.
