Bordering On Romance is going soon....

Good morning and welcome back! I haven't been very good about posting but good news I have four new cards to share with you over the next few days. Some have a bit of the retiring items while one has new colors. Today I have a card I made this weekend that uses the soon to be retired Bordering on Romance Stamp Set. This set is so much fun to watercolor and I did just that with our ink pads and Aquapainter. I used soon to be retiring colors on this card and stamped the flowers twice. I cut out the blue flowers and added them with Dimensionals, SNAIL and Glue Dots so that each has a different height. The colors are Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and Whisper White. The bottom of the card was cut with the Adorning Accents Edgelits after the Baja Breeze Card Stock was added to the Whisper White base. I used the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits to make the Pretty in Pink piece behind my main image. The flowers were punched out with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch and I finished off the card with a 5/8" Organza Ribbon Bow and a few Basic Pearl Accents. I left a sentiment off the card so I could use it for any occasion such as a quick note of thanks or maybe a Birthday. Don't hesitate to order your Bordering on Romance Stamp Set as I don't want you to miss the opportunity to own this beautiful set. Tomorrow I will have another quick and easy card to share with you that uses two retiring stamp sets until then have a great day and Thanks for stopping by, Tonya

Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop.. Best of

Hello and welcome to our Best of Stampin'Up! Blog Hop. This month our theme is retiring stamp sets and we were challenged to use a retiring color on our project. This month I did both and even added a couple of extra retiring items just for added fun. My first project is a Mother's Day card because it will be here before we know it. I used the Build a Blossom Stamp Set and Wonderful Mother Stamp Set both of which are retiring. I wanted to make my blossoms look like a dogwood tree so I used Pretty in Pink Ink (also retiring) and stamped my flower petals on Whisper White Card Stock. The centers are More Mustard Ink (retiring soon) on Daffodil Delight Card Stock. The petals were punched out with the Blossoms Petals Builder Punch (retiring) and the centers were punched with the 1/2" Circle Punch The background is Baja Breeze Card Stock (retiring) that has texture added with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and the Big Shot. Because the Blossoms needed a tree I used Early Espresso Card Stock and the Paper Snips and just free hand cut the branch. The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White Card Stock with Early Espresso Ink and punched out with the Large Oval Punch and layered on the Pretty In Pink Card Stock (retiring) that was punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch. The base is Whisper White. Not sure who is getting this card but either my mom or David's mom will receive it.

Now moving onto my second project which a just realized as I look at the picture that it is really hard to see just how big this quilt top is. I hung it on my curtain to take a picture and it just looks sort of straight. Anyway sorry about that. I love that Stampin'Up! has had fabric for us to use but sadly it is retiring. :-( I have been wanting to make a Chevron quilt since I saw instructions on Pinterest and the Essentials Designer Fabric seemed the perfect choice. I didn't even use all of the Polka Dot Fabric on this quilt and I have a lot of fabric leftover for other projects with the other designs. The quilt was supposed to just be a crib size but is more like a twin. Oh, well I just couldn't stop sewing. I didn't use any other Stampin'Up! items but I love how it showcases our fun fabric.
Time for you to continue on your way to Dawn's Creative Chalet. I hope you enjoyed today's projects. I can't wait to see what everyone else made for the hop. It is always so much fun to get new ideas and share with everyone. Thanks for stopping by today and please leave us a comment as you hop along so we know you were here. Tonya

Bye-Bye Elements of Style

Good morning, I am working on some retiring stamp set projects for later in the week but while you wait I thought I would share a few more swaps that I have received that are retiring. I don't know who made either of these as there are no names but if you made either please let me know and I will add your name. Both use the Elements of Style Stamp Set. I really like this set and have had so much fun colors it and doing different techniques with it. I have used it on tile and cards and scrapbook pages. It really is a great set. The first card uses a fun technique that I haven't tried. The main panel is stamped with the image that has been colored with markers then cut apart, sponged and reassembled to make it look like an amazing tile wall. There is a some shimmer added with Shimmer Paint (which is retiring also) and then the sentiment is added. The base color is Soft Suede with Very Vanilla.

The second card as a few retired products on it but I will focus on the stamp set for today. The image is stamped in the oval with Baja Breeze Ink (retiring) and then the hummingbird is cut out after it was stamped. The sentiment is from a different stamp set but any sentiment will do on this card. The embossing folder that was used on the scallop oval is Vintage Wallpaper and is my go to embossing folder and it is retiring. :-( I am going to miss that folder. If you haven't ordered the Elements of Style Stamp Set or the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder I highly recommend that you do. If you have any questions about the cards let me know and I will be happy to answer them as I have left some supplies off. Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! Tonya

A Round Array Blossoms

Hello! I am back with a card to share with you! I made this card last week but with the rainy, cloudy weather I have had a terrible time getting a photo of it. Well, today I finally succeeded. The colors are Baja Breeze (retiring), Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, and Old Olive. I used the A Round Array Stamp Set and paired with the the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch to create the center of my flower. The flower uses the Blossom Punch, the 1" Circle Punch and the Blossom Petals Builder. For texture I added Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder to the Baja Breeze Card Stock. The designer paper is from the Summer Smooches series. I added just a bit of Whisper White 1/4" Stitched Ribbon as an extra accent and the card is finished. This is one of the cards that we will be doing at the A Round Array Class. If you can't make the class but have/are purchasing the bundle I will be happy to get you the card kit for the $8. Just let me know what works best for you. Thanks and have a great day! Tonya

Color Refresh

Good morning, I have lots to share with you. First my blog hop post is below this one. Please scroll down and take a look. I am thrilled to have had some time to stamp and that I can share it with you. Stampin'Up! has announced a color refresh. We had one three years ago but as you know trends change and they have decided to refresh our color families. I have posted the list above. What this means for you is new colors (or the return of some favorite incolors) but the retiring colors are available only while supplies last. So ribbon, card stock, reinkers (which tend to go fast), markers and such. I do have good news for you though April 6-8 Stampin'Up! is offering free shipping on all your orders. Yep, everything so it is a great time to order the retiring color items and save! Please contact me if you have any questions or to place an order. I will be featuring the retiring colors in the weeks to come so please watch for those. In fact I used Pretty In Pink and Regal Rose in my Blog Hop post today. Have a  great day and thanks for stopping by, Tonya

A few more One Sheet Wonder Cards

Good morning, I have so much going on, with the upcoming catalog release and new classes that I am planning. It is a very exciting time to be a demonstrator. Did you know that you can become a demonstrator too for only $99. Let me know if you would like more information as I would be happy to chat with you. The two cards I have for you today are for Friday night's One Sheet Wonder Class. There are three color options available so you don't have to make the Blushing Bride, Rose Red and Regal Rose Color Combo. You can make the Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Concord Crush Combo or the Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait and Daffodil Delight Color Combo. Please let me know today if you would like to attend the class. Can't make it Friday but would still love to have the cards? Let me know and I will have my assistant make them for you.  Thanks for stopping by today. I am off to work on a couple of project ideas that I want to share with you soon. Have a great day, Tonya

Elements of Style Scrapbook Page

Good afternoon, wasn't sure what I wanted to post today. I have been working on some new catalog projects and thought I would wait a little while to show you those so for today I am going to share a 6 x 6" Scrapbook page that we made in May for my Elements of Style Class. I love this set and find it to be very versatile. For most of my projects I have used the Floral image but for this one I thought the Hummingbird would make a nice accent. The supplies I used are Old Olive Card Stock, Ruby Red Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Old Olive Classic Stamp Pad, Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker, Ruby Red Stampin' Write Marker, Certainly Celery Stampin' Write Marker, Certainly Celery 5/8" Satin Ribbon, Curly Label Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL. After looking different types of hummingbirds online I finally decided to make mine by using the Stampin' Write Markers and inking up the head with Old Olive, the Chest with Ruby Red and the body first with Certainly Celery and then the edges again with Old Olive. I have provided a close up so that you can see the detail better. If you have any questions or you would like to purchase this stamp set please let me know. We are headed to the baseball field later tonight. We have games for both our teams but after the rainy days we have had I am excited to get back to playing ball. Have a great day, Tonya

Last Chance Accessories List Update

Good morning, I wanted to let you know that the previous list I listed was not a complete list. I was only looking at the backorder list and not the full Accessories List. Sorry about the confusion and I am on track now. The Sold out list is getting quite large and instead of just listing all the items I have provided a link to the complete list that includes all the items retiring and which are on sale, sold out etc. Please let me know if you have any problems with the list or placing an order. I will be happy to assist you. Thanks, Tonya

Baby Wipe Technique

Good morning, I haven't had much time for posting the last few days. I have been busy working on projects and of course hanging out with the kids. Today's card is one that we made last night for Stamp Club. I of course wanted to use a few retiring items and decided to use the True Friends Stamp Set. I have been encouraging everyone to pick up reinkers for all the retiring colors so that you can always reink your stamp pads and keep them good for years to come but Reinkers are also great for several techniques including the one we did last night which is a Baby Wipe Technique. This technique is fairly simple. All you need is a paper or styrofoam plate, baby wipes and reinkers. You are going to create your own multicolored stamp pad with these items. Fold the baby wipe in half once and place on your plate. Start with your darkest reinker which for this card was Rose Red. Place three drops on the baby wipe then add your next color (Cameo Coral which is retiring) we placed five or six drops on the wipe and then filled in with the lightest color which was Barely Banana (also retiring). The drops will spread and make a multicolor stamp pad. You then ink up your stamp and stamp as usual. The background and main flower are stamped with the baby wipe. We also used Cameo Coral, Barely Banana, Rose Red and Whisper White Card Stock. The Cameo Coral and Barely Banana are retiring colors and are available while supplies last. The only other item used on the card besides adhesive is Rose Red 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon which is also on the retirement list. If you would like to purchase the supplies to make this card you can contact me or order them online. Tomorrow I will be back with a Father's Day card that has supplies from the Summer Mini. Have a great day and let me know if you have any questions about any of my projects. Thanks for stopping by, Tonya

A Little Hot Water

Ok so I wasn't sure exactly what title to use for this post. The host water I am referring to is of course for the tea bag. No one is in hot water here at the moment. I saw a card similar this layout with a teabag but I can't remember what blog I saw it on, so if you know or it is yours please leave me a comment and I will add proper credit. Now back to the card. I am using all the retiring items that I can this week to show you some of the products that are retiring. On this card it is the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper and the Petal Card Big Shot Die. It is the perfect size to hold my tea bag. Have you taken the time to mark you catalog and look through the retirement list? If you haven't a encourage you to do so before the items start to sell out. The card is pretty straight forward so I will just list the other supplies used. Pumpkin Pie Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Crushed Curry Card Stock, Melon Mambo Classic Stamp Pad, Sticky Strip, Favorite Thoughts Stamp Set, Paper Piercer and Mat Pack. The Favorite Thoughts Stamp Set is in the Summer Mini and has four great quotes that my daughter fell in love with and I knew I had to buy for her. I think her favorite is by Jean Giraudoux- There is nothing wrong with the world that a sensible woman could not settle in an afternoon. Well, what ever quote you enjoy it is a great set. To purchase these or any other supplies from Stampin'Up! you can either shop online at my website or you can call me and I will place your order for you. I hope you have a great day and be sure and stop by later as I am going to make this a two post Friday. I have quite a few post ready but they keep getting pushed back because of the new cards I have been making so I will share one of those later today. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it and I would love to hear from you if you have a moment. Thanks, Tonya

# 1 Dad!

Good morning, What a beautiful day it is starting out to be. The sun is shining and I have a card ready to go before 9am. I wondered with the kids out of school if I would find as much time to stamp and post but so far it is working out well. I always have some one to bounce ideas off of with four kids in the house and they are all willing to give me their opinion. ;) Today's card has Dad in mind. If you have a dad that likes sports then this is a perfect Father's Day Card for him. My husband isn't really a basketball fan but I am working on another card with him in mind. Once again I pulled out some retiring items and went to work on the card. The base is Pumpkin Pie Card Stock and I used the Pumpkin Pie Classic Stamp Pad to drag ink across the card giving it a worn leather look. Makes me think of a well loved basketball. Next I stamped my image on Very Vanilla Card Stock. The stamp set is Just Basketball and I used the Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker, Basic Gray Stampin' Write Marker and the Going Gray Stampin' Write Marker to ink up the image. This was layered with Ballet Blue Card Stock. The #1 is from the All Sports Stamp Set and was stamped with the Basic Gray Classic Stamp Pad and then punched out with the 1" Circle Punch and layered with a 1 1/4" Circle Punch of Basic Gray Card Stock. To finish up the card I used Twill Tape that I frayed out the ends and added it to the card. I thought it added to the card without being to much. The inside with say DAD and the card is ready to give to your favorite dad. Just a quick reminder that that the bold items are retiring. If you have any questions about this project or any of my projects please let me know. I am always happy to help. Thanks and I hope you stop by again. Have a great day, Tonya

Embrace Life Pop UP Card

Today I have another card showing you some of the items that will soon be retiring. I had a friend ask recently about a Pop Up card that I had showed sometime ago and I started to think that I haven't showed any fancy fold or nontraditional cards in a while. This card is great in that it folds flat and fits in a standard envelope. Before I give you the measurements and scoring details let me give you the supplies needed. Melon Mambo Card Stock, Bermuda Bay Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Embrace Life Stamp Set, Horizontal Slot Punch, Melon Mambo Classic Stamp Pad, Bermuda Bay Classic Stamp Pad, Basic Gray Classic Stamp Pad, Word Window Punch, Crystal Effects, Micro Beads, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Scallop Trim Corner Punch, and Aquapainter. I watercolored each of the flowers before I cut them out and then added Crystal Effects on the center of the flowers then added Clear Micro Beads. Each of the supplies items that are in bold are retiring so don't delay on placing those orders. Now for the card dimensions. A tutorial for A Free Standing Pop Up Card can also be seen on Splitcoaststampers. I made a few minor changes when I made the slot for the pop up portion but other than that the design is the same. I used the Word Window Punch to make the slot instead for cutting it out with a Hobby Blade. Just a little easier in my opinion. The base measures 4 1/4" x 11" and is scored at 1", 2 3/4", 3 3/4", 5 1/2", 7 1/4", 8 1/4", 10". Fold the card in half at the 5 1/2" score line. Then mark 5/8" from the edge at the center (5 1/2"). I then use the Word Window Punch to punch out between the marks along the center line. The rest of the card was designed using the tutorials so instead of trying to explain the rest I encourage you to check out the link above to see pictures of the step by step instructions. Now of course you can alter the look of the card just by changing out the colors and stamp sets. Wouldn't this be cute for a baby announcement card. Add a picture to the front then a few stamped images and the info on the back or a Christmas card with your family picture on one side and a stamped image on the other so that the recipient can display on a mantle. Lots of possibilities. Off to use more of the retiring items. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Tonya

Kindergarten Graduation Card

Since my youngest graduated from Kindergarten this last week he of course needed a card to help celebrate the milestone and believe me it is a milestone. I wanted to keep the card simple yet fun and bright. I used Crushed Curry, Real Red and Ballet Blue which is a cheerful combo. The stamp set that I used is Starry You and is a favorite of mine for the boy cards that I often have to make. I also used Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon, Large Star and Star Punch and the Large Oval Punch. The card stock colors are Real Red, Ballet Blue, Crushed Curry and Whisper White. There is one Silver Brad added to the center of the stars to add a little accent. The graduate loved his card and is so proud that he graduated. The card really went together rather quickly which is always great when time is short. Remember that if you want to place an order for the retiring colors that it is as easy as placing an order online or sending me an email. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come back again. Tonya

Mother's Day Delight!

Today we once again have a guest blogger. I really should make her a regular poster as she has been busy with lots of fun projects but I will save that for another day. Today I wanted to take a moment to share my Mother's Day card that my wonderful daughter made for me. She really enjoys stamping and paper crafts of all kinds and I hope will someday (3 years and 2 1/2 months) will be a member of my downline. ;) She used Cameo Coral Card Stock, Bashful Blue Card Stock and Whisper White Card Stock. The stamp sets are Flight of the Butterfly and All Holidays and the ink colors are Apricot Appeal, Cameo Coral, Bashful Blue and Basic Gray Classic Stamp Pads. She even used a bit of Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon to finish off the card. Nothing to challenging about the layout just a couple of layers but the butterflies really make a nice background. Sort of like your very own DSP. Well, we have a busy weekend and week ahead of us. I have two graduation in our house this week. Eighth Grade and Kindergarten, one is my first and one is my last. :( My babies are growing up to quickly it would seem. I hope you have a great day and stop by again. I did complete a big project last night but I haven't had a chance to take a picture yet, hopefully today. It is a little unusual when it comes to crafting. Stay tuned for that one, Tonya
