Reason to Smile

Good morning, I am really enjoying making the triple layer cards. This card is from some leftover pieces from Stamp Club this week. I decide to take the Very Vanilla pieces I had cut and make a card for a special someone to brighten their day. I pulled out my much neglected Circle Circus Stamp Set and my new favorite Sentiment set Petite Pairs. For colors I relied on my Color Coach and went with Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple and Perfect Plum.  I used just a bit of Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon to draw your eye to the sentiment. I did finish the inside to by failed to get a picture of it. Boo me. :-(
After I finished my card I took a look at my sample board and realized that my friend Sarah had given me a card with the same design layout and two of the same colors in July when she was getting ready for convention.  So thanks Sarah for the card that I managed to case. Technique Time again!

Wow it has been a while since I have used today's technique and this one uses a new twist on it. The technique is Faux Silk and traditionally you would use tissue paper to stamp on then layer it on a base but while blog surfing I found that Lyssa over on Song of My Heart Stampers did this technique using coffee filters. One thing I really like about the coffee filters is that they are a little sturdier and tend to allow for a little rougher treatment just in case you don't get the filter lined up on your base just the way you want to. :)

The supplies are pretty basic I used two stamp sets, Serene Snowflakes and Perfect Punches, three ink colors: Bashful Blue, Marina Mist and Not Quite Navy. I also used Not Quite Navy Card Stock and Tafetta Ribbon as well as Whisper White and Bashful Blue Card Stock. For the sentiment I used the 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch and the Scallop Circle Punch which is paper pierced on each scallop. This card would be easy to make a bunch of in a short amount of time so if you haven't started your Chistmas Cards yet then be sure and contact me to place your order for supplies. Bring on the Birthday Final Card

Hello, well my boys had a good first day of school and are back for their second day. My youngest was tired this morning due to a late baseball practice last night so it is probably a good thing they have an early out again today. Yesterday was my first Bring on the Birthday Cards Class and I enjoyed it so much. I only had one stamper but she is new to stamping and sometimes one on one is great. Tonight I have a full group and it will be just as much fun. The ladies coming tonight have all stamped before so the class should move right along. Today I have the final Birthday Card. It uses a couple of different Designer Series Paper including Nursery Nest and Just Add Cake. The stamp set is once again Bring on the Cake and I have stamped the image directly on the Designer Series Paper with the Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad before coloring the Birthday with Marina Mist, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Perfect Plum Classic Stampin' Pads and a Blender Pen. I added just a touch of Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon on the edge of the Designer Series Paper. I used both the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch on the card as well as the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder. Such a fun card to make and of course receive. Are you wishing you would have attend this class and you didn't have the time well, I have a special deal for you. Stepped up Thoughts and Prayers

Good morning! As the title of this post implies this is the stepped up card that I mentioned in an earlier post. I used the Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set again but this time instead of using the Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the image I used Versamark to stamp with then used the Stampin' Pastels to add color to the Versamark. The colors used on this card are Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Very Vanilla and Old Olive. For Stamp Club we used Old Olive and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Pastels and lightly tapped the Versamark areas. You don't want to rub as this will smear your image. The Thinking of You... is inked with the Night of Navy Stampin Write Marker, stamped on Very Vanilla Card Stock and Punched out with the 2"x 1 3/8" Oval Punch. There is a Old Olive Decorative Label Punch behind the sentiment. Before the main panel was added to the card we added a layer of Old Olive to the top and a layer of Daffodil Delight that was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch along the bottom. We also added a piece of Night of Navy Taffeta Ribbon across the card. A knot was added to the ribbon to add interest. Finally the sentiment was added with Stampin' Dimensionals. The layout is the same basic layout as the first Thoughts and Prayers card but with the new technique and added punched elements this card takes on a different look. Not sure if I will get any stamping done today or not. I need to clean up from last nights club and put away the supplies before I start another project so we will see how productive I get today. The sky is starting to cloud up again so it looks like another dreary day is in store for us. Maybe I will take a few moments to stamp. It always improves my mood. Petal Cone Treat

Good morning! Today is a less busy day for our family and I hope to get some stamping time in before the kids get out of school. I do still have a few projects to share with you from yesterday and our busy weekend of creating. This treat container was for one of my sons' teachers and it was inspired by the February Stampin' Success. Stampin' Success is a great magazine that all demonstrators receive each month with ideas and business tips. Don't forget that Sale-a-bration is a great time to start your own Stampin'UP! business. Okay back to the treat. I used the Petal Cone Die and cut it out in Riding Hood Red and the half scallops in Early Espresso. I used Sticky Strip to adhere the two sides but instead of making it a cone I left it flat and made this cute heart. I stamped a heart from the I {heart} Hearts Stamp Set in Riding Hood Red and cut it out by hand before attaching it to the Petal Cone with Stampin' Dimensionals. The Happy Valentine's Day is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and was stamped with Early Espresso on Very Vanilla Card Stock then punched out with the Word Window Punch. To add a little extra wow to the Petal Cone I made a flower from Pink Pirouette Card Stock and the Scallop Circle #2 Die. I cut out four of the larger Scallop Circle and then sprayed each with Shimmer Mist (made with Shimmer Paint and Rubbing Alcohol)

Greeting Card Valentine!

Good morning! Another snow day at our house. I am not sure what we will do when we finally have to go back to school but I guess we will just have to wait and see when that it. I am going to be working on Valentine's ideas with my boys so maybe we can get their cards/treats ready or at least planned out. I made this card yesterday and I know the picture isn't the best but the lighting was not the greatest when I took the pictures. I may try again later today when there is more sun shine and if I get a better picture I will update. I know that I have mentioned it before but I really love the Greeting Card Kids Stamp Set and have used all the images. It is a fun set to color whether it be with Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Aquapainters, Reinkers or Blender Pens. I stamped the image on Watercolor Paper with the Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad. This image was colored with Blender Pens and the Classic Stampin' Pads. I used Pretty In Pink, Rich Razzleberry, Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pads and the Blush Blossom Stampin' Write Marker. The base of the card is Crumb Cake (that was texturized with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder) and I also used Pretty in Pink Card Stock as well as Rich Razzleberry Designer Series Pattern Paper. The Pretty in Pink was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I also used Dazzling Diamonds, 2 Way Glue, Rich Razzleberry 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Victoria Crochet Trim, and a Rhinestone Brad. The sentiment is from the retired Filled with Love Stamp Set. All supplies are of course from Stampin'UP! and can be purchased through me or your local demonstrator. Bliss Card

Hello, what a yucky day it is! I was supposed to have a workshop tonight in Mound City but the hostess and I have decided to postpone it to a later day. My kids are busy playing on the Wii so I thought I would share a card with you that uses the Sale-a-bration Stamp Set Bliss. I really liked this set when I first saw it and now that I have it at my house I really love it! My favorite image is the biggest one that I used on the background. It is so easy to line up to make the background and it is big enough to stand on its own too. There are a lot of details on this card so I will just give you a supply list. Crumb Cake Card Stock and Classic Stampin' Pad, Early Espresso Card Stock and Classic Stampin' Pad, Pretty in Pink Card Stock and Classic Stampin' Pad, Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad and 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Chantilly 1/2" Crochet Trim, Basic Pearl Jewels, Lots of Tags Sizzlits Dies, and the Decorative Label Punch. I want to thank all of you that came to the Birthday Card Class over the weekend. It was big success. We make over 120 cards in the two day period and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
