Greeting Card Kids Ornament

Hello and Good evening, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thank you to all of you that stopped by for the All Things Stampin'Up! Blog Hop. It was great to hear from so many of you. Today I want to share with you an ornament that I made with a Window Sheet, Jet Black Stazon and the Greeting Card Kids Stamp Set. I used some other supplies but I will get to those in a bit. First Stamp your image with the Jet Black Stazon onto the Window Sheet. I then flipped the image over and colored it with Permanent Markers. Our Stampin' Write Markers don't work for this process as they don't dry on the Window Sheet. Then I punched out the image with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch and added a thin layer of Crystal Effect on the side that I had stamped the image on. Note this will reverse the image from the orginal so if using a image with words then add the Crystal Effect on the side with the Permanent Marker. I don't add the Crystal Effects to the marker side just because the marker can some time bleed into the Crystal Effects and cause a halo of color around the image. After adding the Crystal Effects I poured Dazzling Diamonds of the still wet Crystal Effects to give the image a glittery snowy appearance. Let the ornament dry overnight. I used the 1/16" Handheld Punch to add a hole into the top and thread a piece of thin rope or twine through. I then rolled the Window Sheet and pushed it through the opening of the glass ornament holding onto the twine at the top of the ornament. I secured the ends on the outside of the ornament to keep the image upright and then added the top back onto the ornament so it could be added to the tree. Your ornament can be personalized with a name or date. I hope you enjoyed this ornament. Let me know if you have any questions or would like more info. Faux Stain Glass

Good morning, yesterday was a busy day, but I got quite a few cards made and I will be sharing them with you through out the week. I want to thank all of you that stopped by yesterday and checked out my Faux Stain Glass Tutorial. I loved reading your comments and hope that you will stop by often. Today's card is the the Faux Stain Glass example that I made while I was taking pictures for the tutorial. I didn't want the faux stain glass to not get put into a card and the look is so much different than the other finished card that I made for the previous post. I changed the frame a little by making the base frame smaller and letting it show thru behind the image. I really like the Baja Breeze and Pink Pirouette Reinkers. I sure am going to miss these two colors. If you have the InColor Ink Pads remember to purchase your reinkers before they retire next month so that you can keep your stamp pads reinked plus you can do great techniques like this one! I was asked how long the Crystal Effects takes to dry so I thought I would just add the info to this post. I usually just make mine in the evening and let it dry overnight. It does matter how thickly you put the Crystal Effects on. The thinner the coat the faster it will dry. I would allow at least 3 hours but it could be longer. Clearly Quick

Today's card that I am sharing with you is a really quick one. I sketched the idea on Sunday and just got to make it today took me about 5 minutes. I started with a base of Basic Black, added a background of Taste of Textiles 12x12 cardstock. If you haven't tired this pack of cardstock be sure and give it a try. They are all great. Now for the easiest part of all. In the new Occasions Mini we have Printed Window Sheets. They are item # 115122 Clearly Thanks. These are 8 1/2 x 11 window sheets with four designs on each sheet. Just cut out the one you want for your card or scrapbook page and your done. The one I used had the dandelions on it but I wanted a sentiment to so I got out my Black Stazon and stamped directly on the window sheet. Want to know a easy tip for stamping on a window sheet if you don't like it the first time you can remove it with Stazon Remover. Ask me how I know this. I used glue dots at the very top to adhere this to my card front then used White Taffeta Ribbon to cover those. The rhinestones are from our Rhinestone Brads. I just used my tweezers to take the jewel out and adhered them with glue dots too. Simple yet pretty and really not a lot of work. I may use this for a sympathy card. What do you think?
