Baby Shower Invites

Good afternoon! First let me remind you that there is only a day left to order from the current Catalog. If there is something that you would like to order and you haven't done so please head over to my website and place your online order or give me a call so I can place your order for you. I don't want you to miss out.
Today's project is a Baby Shower Invite that I recently did for a friend. Her sister is expecting her first baby and she wanted invites for a boy. She send me a picture of some things that fit the theme and I got busy making a sample that included blues, greens, brown and turtles. After she approved the first one I just had to get the rest made. I am happy to report they are done and ready for my friend to send out. The supplies include: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz, and Old Olive Card Stock. The Fox and Friends Stamp Set, a couple of retired sets, the new Pennant Punch and the Word Window Punch, Old Olive and Soft Suede Stampin' Write Markers and the Bashful Blue, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, and Old Olive Classic Ink Pads. I added a turtle to the front of each envelope also just to add interest. If you would like help making your event special with handmade invites or party favors please let me know. I would love the opportunity to help make your event special. :)
We have another evening of baseball so I had better run. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day, Tonya

Bambi and Thumper

When the Occasions Mini came out and I saw this set I immediately fell in love with it. It reminded me so much of Bambi and his friend Thumper that I started calling it just that. The Bambi and Thumper Set. Now of course the real name is Forest Friends but to me it will always be Bambi and Thumper. These cards were started some time ago and like so often happens they were set aside and not finished. Fast forward to today. After creating six Mother's Day cards last week my room was a mess. DD had of course been creating to but I must admit she is much better about cleaning up than her dear old mom . As I was cleaning I came across the deer and the Bashful Blue Bib so I thought a card was in order. I quickly decided to keep it simple and used just a Whisper White base. The card is a simple 4x4" card just perfect for giving with a gift. I used the Scallop Circle #2 Die with the Big Shot to cut out the Bibs. Then I used the Wide Oval Punch to cut out a section to give it the bib look. I textured both the bibs with the Stampin'UP Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates and the Big Shot. The So Saffron Circle that is layered behind the deer is made with the Circle Scissor Plus. This is such and easy tool for making circles. I used my circle punches to punch out the stamped images and then also the bashful blue circle. The sentiment is from Holidays & Wishes. I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get is just right on the bottom corner of the card.

I had originally wanted to use this set for the Baby Shower Invites that I recently did but after seeing the napkin I went in a totally different direction. I
do think these will be perfect for my cousin's baby gift. Hopefully she doesn't take a peak at my blog. DD and I have also decided to make a Diaper Cake as a center piece for the shower so stay tuned for pictures of it later this month. As always thank you for stopping by. We have a busy week ahead of us with two Stamp Club nights and 8 baseball games between our 3 DS's. So I may not get to post everyday. If you have any questions please let me know. I would be happy to help. Have a great day, Tonya

Finding Inspiration in the world around you.

Today's post includes the Baby Shower Invites that I recently made for my cousin's baby shower. Now that they have been mailed and received by all I feel like I can share them with you. The stamp sets I used are not current ones so I won't go into all the details about them. If you have a question though just let me know. What I do want to talk about is finding inspiration in what is around you. In this case I had a napkin to work with that will be used for the baby shower. I wanted the invites to match with the theme so I started with colors. I pulled the colors from the squares and used Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Lavender Lace and Barely Banana. I also added a large square of So Saffron that is similar to the stitching around the other squares. It may be hard to see but on the napkin the squares have a shaded pattern. Two have polka dots and two have plaid. To duplicate this look I used the Big Shot and the Texturz Plates. This just gives the squares some extra dimension.I used various baby items in each square just like the napkin and after stamping and watercoloring each item I cut them out and popped them up with a dimensional. All the info about the shower was added inside. Now of
course you don't have to make
your card as exact as mine but you could just use a layout or color combo. The idea is just to use that things around you to inspire you to stamp, whatever it might be. Shopping is a great way to checkout new color combos and you never know you might just find a new and favorite one. I will post another inspired by card later. It is a shirt that my DD has that became a card. As always thank you for stopping by today and if you have any questions please let me know. I would love to help you, oh and of course all supplies are Stampin'UP. Have a great weekend, Tonya
