Sympathy Card

I recently needed a sympathy card and this is my go to set for thinking of you can sympathy cards. I really like how easy it is to put a nice card together with just the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set. The colors I used are Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla Card Stock and ink colors I also used Always Artichoke. I did add a little texture with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Big Shot. The main image was inked with the Stampin' Write Markers and then stamped while the sentiments were stamped with the Classic Ink Pads. To finish off the card a little Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon was added with a Mini Glue Dot. On the inside there is a Very Vanilla Top Note Cut out to allow for easy signing. I highly recommend this stamp set. I think while it is still out I will make up some thinking of you cards to have on hand. It is always nice to have a variety of cards on hand for all occasions. Cupcake Fun

Good morning and Happy Monday! I am going to start really decorating the house today so this post will be quick. I should have shared this with you last week when the items I used were on sale but some how it missed getting posted. At Convention this year they had some really cute cupcakes that were made from ribbon and paper that you could use as a gift box or to hold candy. I decided to recreate them using our Candy Cane Christmas Designer Series Fabric. I really love our fabric and the way it too coordinates with our ribbon, paper and inks. Oh and of course the buttons. How could I forget that. So the base is made with the Perfect Setting Bigz XL Die and the Candy Cane Christmas DSP (which is sold out, sorry any other paper would work too). This die is made to fit around a real cupcake so you can dress them up too for parties and such. I inserted a cupcake liner inside to old the treats then I cut out a circle to hold the "icing" on top and act as a lid. The "icing" is made of the fabric that was cut into strips then I stitched one edge and gathered it into a circle. I few more stitches to hold it in place and the layers were done. Then I stacked my two fabric circles on top of each other and a button was added with Glue Dots. I attached the fabric to the Card Stock Circle with the Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. Your cupcake is done now to decide what to put inside. Hmm, maybe some candy or jewelry. It was fun to make and I will be using the Perfect Setting die more to actually decorate cupcakes or maybe even little treat cups for nuts or mints. :) Thanks for stopping by, I am off to bring up the trees and start bringing boxes up from the basement. Monogram Card Class

Hello, I am off today to spend the day in Kansas City with my 1st Grader and his class. We are going on a field trip to Kaleidoscope and to see a Junie B Jones Play. It should be a fun day and I am really excited to get to go. I thought I would share a post about the upcoming class I have next weekend. This is a Monogram Card Class that would make a nice gift for a teacher, friend or family member. There are three cards, decorated pen and tin to put the card into for only $10, if you would like to make two the cost goes down. All the projects use the Elegant Soiree Designer Paper which I must say I like more and more all the time. It has such a nice mix of colors with Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Basic Gray. Did you happen to notice the background behind the pictures? It was created with My Digital Studio and includes the extra download of the Elegant Soiree DSP so that I can create flyers or scrapbook pages to match. So much fun to play with. The Big 30

Good afternoon, no Christmas Card today. Today, I thought I would share my baby brother's Birthday Card. Can you tell by the card and title how hold he is today? Now for men's cards I usually keep them pretty simple and the Woodland Walk Designer Series Paper seemed like a great accent to this card. The base is Crumb Cake that I distressed and gave that worn look to. The 30 is cut out with the Big Shot and the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Set from Wild Wasabi Card Stock. It was layered on a 1 3/8" Very Vanilla Circle and a 2" Early Espresso Circle was added behind that. The inside has Happy Birthday from the Afterthoughts Stamp Set stamped with Early Espresso Classic Ink. That's it, quick and simple yet nice. I am going to start working on a Birthday Card Class for January so be watching for more details on that. I will have cards for kids, guys and the women in your life. Gift Card Holder

Good morning, now that it is the first of December I am in Christmas planning, shopping and decorating mode. I have started some of each but now I feel like time is really slipping by and we have a busy month of activities ahead of us. This weekend was my Holiday Gift Giving Open House and one of the projects we made was this gift card holder. There have been several of this type of card on the internet but I had never saw dimensions so I just started playing around with the gift card and a half a sheet of card stock until I got the size that worked for me. If you knew how many sheets of card stock I ruined just by not getting the correct measurements you would probably be shocked. Really it was only a couple. ;) The outside is decorated with the Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper and the Word Play Stamp Set. The image is stamped with Jet Black Stazon and we watercolored the ornament with the Aquapainter, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Classic Ink. I decided to make the sentiment look like a package so the Very Vanilla Card Stock was layered with the Cherry Cobbler Card Stock and a 1/8" Old Olive Taffeta Bow was added to the top of the package. The inside is pretty simple in that there is just a layer of Very Vanilla Card Stock added so you have a place to write your message. I used the 1" Circle Punch and the Word Window Punch to make the slot for the gift card. If you would like measurements let me know and I will add those later.

Fabric Flower Clip

I thought I would share a fabric project today since it is the last day to get the Candy Cane Christmas and the Deck the Halls Fabric at 50% off. That makes the fabric only $4.98. I love both the designs and have ordered more at the half off price. What can I say I love a sale. This flower is made with the Candy Cane Christmas Fabric and the Fancy Folds Flower Die. Oh and of course a Candy Cane Big Designer Button is perfect to finish it off. There is a clip on the back that allows you to use this flower in your hair on a purse or even your shoes. I just cut the two smallest sizes multiple times with the three different fabrics and folded, layered and stitched together. It really only took a short time to make and my daughter wore this one the other day. She mentioned that is was so light she forgot she had it on. If you have a little girl on your shopping list why not make her a hair bow and while you are at it you can also make a matching top with our fabric and a plain shirt. The possibilities are really endless when it comes to using our fabrics. Remember to stock up on the fabric while the price is still half off. Well, I am off to do more stamping. I didn't get the birthday card done yet that I had planned to do yesterday and I have a individual Christmas Card Class this afternoon that I need to set up for. We are seeing our first snow of the year here and I really hope that is stops soon. Fancy Flower and 2 1/2" Circle Punches are Available to order!
