Chocolate!

Hope you all had a great weekend! I know that we enjoyed ours and got to spend a lot of time with our family. Saturday we had a wedding for a cousin of mine that I used to babysit when he was a new born. They had a beautiful wedding, reception and dance which my kids had a blast dancing at. Now whenever I get a wedding invite I always try and use the colors, design or some other element from the invite on their card. Today's card is really no different. I started with a 4 1/4" x 12" piece of Textured Chocolate Chip Card Stock (108697) and scored it at 1", 3 3/4" and 9 1/4" this gave my card a center opening and a pocket inside to put the gift card that I was giving them. Because the pocket wasn't very deep or pretty I added a strip of Very Vanilla Card Stock (101650) that I punched out with the Eyelet Border Punch (113692). I also added a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock (101650) that I embossed with the Stampin'Up! Elegant Bouquet Textured
Impressions Embossing Folder (115964). The sentiment is from the Heard from the Heart Stamp Set (111644) and is stamped in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink (100908) with the Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049). With the inside complete I moved to the outside of the card.

For the outside I again used the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder but before I embossed it with the Big Shot I used my Brayer (102395) and Chocolate Chip Classic Ink (100908) and covered with inside of the emboss folder with the ink. I then added my Very Vanilla Card Stock and embossed the image. By inking up the folder with the Classic Ink all of the embossed images stayed Very Vanilla and every thing else became Chocolate Chip.

I then cut the embossed card stock in half and put each half onto the Very Vanilla Card Stock and added it to each front panel of the card. I also like to add something from each wedding invite to the card itself and in this case it was the ribbon. The chocolate chip ribbon that I used to hold the card closed is actually taken off of the bride and groom's invite they sent us. I love how it looks on this card but of course there are Stampin'Up! ribbon that would also look great. To finish off the card front I stamped For the Newlyweds from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp set (115370) and punched it out with the Scallop Oval Punch (114889). Not a complex card but an elegant one that I hope the special couple enjoy.

I am anxious to try more of the embossing and brayering possibly with the new Stampin'Up! Textured Impressions Folder Petals-A-Plenty (116824) that can be found in the new Holiday Mini!

Just a quick reminder that club will be next Tuesday at 7:30 pm for those of you attending club. If you are interested in finding out more about my stamp club be sure and contact me. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have. Have a great day and thank you for stopping by, Tonya
