Punch Art Time

Hello and welcome back after a fun weekend. It was a busy one for our family but that is okay. Today I have a birthday card for you that I made for my niece who turned 9 on Friday. They are all growing up so fast. This card was inspired by one that I saw on Facebook by a fellow demonstrator but I can't find the card now. If it was yours please let me know and I will add a link to your blog. The doll is a Lalaloopsy Doll and my niece loves them. This one is Mittens Fluff. I used images of the doll to help me with my project. The colors are Blushing Bride, Tempting Turquoise Melon Mambo, and Whisper White. I used several punches including the 2 1/2" Circle Punch, the Word Window Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Small Heart Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. For the body I used the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die and the Stripes Embossing folder that I inked up with the Melon Mambo Ink Pad before I ran the card stock through the Big Shot. The face is 2 retired black buttons and the rest is hand drawn on. I used some Rhinestone Bling for her hair bows and because I wanted the outfit to sparkle I used the Illuminate Glimmer Stamp Pad and Heat and Stick Powder to add Dazzling Diamonds on the entire outfit. It gives it the extra bling factor that it needs. The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake and fits perfectly in the Large Oval Punch. I added just a bit more texture on the background with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder. I really hope Cami enjoys her card and that you enjoyed seeing it too. Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a great day! Tonya

Stain Glass Tractor- Friday Favorites

Hello and welcome to my Friday Favorite post. My favorite item right now seems to be my Heat Tool. I know you are thinking but it has been around forever, which is true but I have been using like crazy for all my embossing projects and techniques that seem to be ever so popular right now. Today's card uses the Stain Glass Technique which I taught this month in my Tech Time Class. I think the Harvest Blessings Stamp Set is just perfect for this technique and with the cooler temps I can't help but think about harvesting. To tractor is heat embossed with the Heat Tool and Black Embossing Powder on Vellum and then you use the Stampin' Write Markers on the back to color in the image. I used the Labels Collection Framelits to cut out both the Vellum, the Whisper White Card Stock that goes behind and the frame. I also used the Big Shot to add texture to the background card stock which consists of the Cajun Craze that I used the Square Lattice Embossing folder on and the Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock that I used the Woodgrain Embossing Folder on before I sanded it. The sentiment is also from the set and is stamped with the Cajun Craze on Crumb Cake and I added just a bit of Linen Thread..

While I am sharing the Heat Tool with you I must tell you a bit about a class project that I helped my 6th grader with yesterday. He had a book report to do and it was a poster but he needed to have texture on the poster. So he collected some sand and with the help of our Heat Tool and our Heat and Stick Powder we were able to add a sandy exterior to one of his buildings on the poster. I wasn't sure how successful we would be but the Heat and Stick Powder and the Heat Tool came through and the sand was securely attached. I have added a picture below.

I also have a card to share with you on Monday that uses the Heat Tool and our Heat and Stick Powder. I hope you enjoyed today's card and please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks and have a great day, Tonya

Best of Halloween Time!

Today's post is my individual post for our SS INKspiration Blog today and I have shared all the details on the blog there. Please head on over and take a look at our great blog but in the mean time I will give you just a bit of info here. The projects use the Best of Halloween Stamp Set and the Witches' Brew Designer Series Paper. On the card I used the Circle Thinlits Set and the colors are Basic Black, Basic Gray, Whisper White, and Pumpkin Pie.

The box was inspired by the Stampin'Up! design team and uses the Black and Orange Stampin' Glitter in addition to the Witches' Brew Designer Series Paper. I used the Tombow Multipurpose glue to adhere the glitter.
Thanks for stopping by today and please stop by tomorrow for our Friday Favorites. I have a technique to share with you. Have a great day! Tonya

Quick Treat Container

Today's post is going to be quick not only to make but also in length. I have quite a bit going on and am going to try and get a few things caught up. The treat container is sour cream container and uses only a fourth of a sheet of card stock. I used the Square Lattice Embossing Folder to add some texture. Then I added the Have a Holly Jolly Christmas Stamp from the Tags 4 You and the Label Bracket Punch which are able to be purchased in a Bundle. I used the 7/16" Trim Natural Ribbon to tie off the top of the container. These are super quick to make and are great to share a treat with someone. If you would like more info on how to make these just give me a call and I will be happy to help you. Have a great day! Tonya

Gift Card Christmas

It's all about Christmas on our SS INKspiration Blog today and I have a card to share with you that also is a Gift Card Holder. I received the Tag It stamp set at convention and have been wanted to ink it up and make a Christmas Card with it. I used colors from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack. The base is Cherry Cobbler, with a background of Chocolate Chip and then the envelope for your gift card is Crumb Cake. The envelope is made with the new Envelope punch board and I must tell you that I have enjoyed playing with it to far. I used the Chalk Talk Framelits Set to cut out the stamped image which is inked with our Stampin' Write Markers. I used a bit of our Season of Style Designer Washi Tape on the envelope and the Square Lattice Embossing Folder on the Chocolate Chip background. I am considering adding something above the Designer paper the more I look at it and if I do I will be sure and update the photo. Please be sure and stop by the main blog and check out all the other great Christmas Cards. Thursday I will be the feature designer on the blog and I will have a couple of Halloween Projects for you using the Best of Halloween Stamp Set. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Tonya

Yippee-Skippee Washi Tape!

Good morning and welcome back. Sorry for the missed days this week but I will get back on schedule and I have a lot to share with you, starting with this card that I made for our Washi Tape challenge on the SS INKspiration Blog. Please take a moment and go check out everyone's projects. You won't be disappointed. Today's card is congrats card of sorts. I wanted something that would be encouraging but not to over the top and the Yippee-skipppee from the Yippee-Skippee Stamp Set was just perfect. I used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score a line around the edge of the Whisper White Card Stock then added the sentiment in Night of Navy. I then added a plaid like element with the Gingham Garden Washi Tape. I only used two of the three designs but I think it adds just a perfect touch to this simple card. I finished off the card with a flower I made and colored with the Aquapainter and Melon Mambo Ink. I added just a touch of Dazzling Diamonds and adhered it over the knot of the Island Indigo Baker's Twine. The base of the card is Daffodil Delight. I hope you enjoyed today's card and I hope to have other cards featuring our Washi tape for you in the future. Thanks for stopping by, Tonya

Undefined XC

Hello and welcome to our Undefined Blog post. When Stampin'UP! announced at Convention that we were going to have a new way to carve our own Stamps I was excited to start. I had great ideas on what I wanted to carve but thus far I have only done this one stamp which is for my kids Cross Country Team. They are going with a Superman inspired tshirt theme this year and I wanted to have a stamp that I could make them cards with. I thought I would make this one to give to my son who will be running on Thursday. I needed it to be simple yet get the superman point across. I made the Pacific Point Cape like piece to go behind the XC emblem which is Real Red Ink stamped on Daffodil Delight Card Stock and then I added just a bit of Silver Glimmer Paper. I added 1/8" Mini Brads to the top corners of the Pacific Point and paper pierced around the bottom edges for just a bit more detail. I used the Argyle Embossing Folder on the Real Red Background and my daughter pointed out that the argyle look like flying people. Maybe that is a stretch but if my son wants to fly around the course that is great. I need to make a pair of running shoes next but that will have to wait for another day. Let me know what you would carve and maybe I will do that stamp next. I am always looking for a new idea. Thanks for stopping by and if you haven't check out the other cards be sure and head over to our SS INKspiration Blog. The ladies have done a great job. Tonya

Circle Thinlit Flip flop Card

Hello and welcome! It is Monday and I have a card to share with you that I made several weeks ago and haven't had a chance to share yet. I used the new Circle Card Thinlits that are available for the Big Shot. This Thinlit is great for making moving cards that is so much easier than the way I have previously made them. All you need to do is lay the Thinlit down on the card stock on the Magnetic Platform and with a quick trip through the Big Shot the card is cut and scored. The Stamp Set I used is the same as my Thursday post Crazy, Mixed-Up Love. It is such a cute set. The sentiment for this card is "you light up my life" and would be perfect for a child to brighten their day. The Scallop Circle that the light bulb is layered on is also from the Circle Card Thinlits set. I used punched for the circles and Inked the light bulb with Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight. For the front panel the light bulbs are stamped with Smoky Slate on Smoky Slate Card Stock.
In this card you can see the front when the card is closed. The Designer Series Paper is the Quatrefancy Specialty Paper and the sentiment is inked with the Smoky Slate Stampin' Write Marker and then punched out with the Word Window Punch and Layered on a Modern Label Punch out from the Bermuda Bay Card Stock. I really like this color combo and will be using my Circle card Thinlit on future cards including a Halloween card that we made Friday at Patti's workshop. I hope you have a great day. I have lots of stamping, some baking and laundry to do today so I have better get busy. Thanks for stopping by, Tonya

Whoo's Ready for Framelit Friday?

Hello and welcome to Framelit Friday. I love our framelits and the Magnetic Platform which is available again to purchase is a must have with the Framelits. For this card I used the Oval Collection Framelits and made an owl birthday card for my niece. Her birthday is today but don't tell her about the card quite yet please. I started with a Strawberry Slush base and then added the Quaterfancy Specialty Designer Paper window sheet for extra fun on the card. The plus side to the window sheet is that it is whatever color you put it on. I used the Oval Framelit for the body of the Owl and then punched off just a bit of the top to make the ears on the owl. The rest of the owl is made with the following punches: Large Oval, 7/8" Scallop Oval, 1/2" Circle, 1" Circle, 3/4" Circle, Petite Pennants Builder Punch. The colors are Chocolate Chip, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie and whisper white. The birthday greeting is from the Label Love Stamp Set and was punched out with the Artisan label Punch. The branch was hand cut from the Early Espresso Core'Dinations Card Stock (it is one the clearance rack) which I texturized with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and then sanded to give it a more distressed look.
I hope you enjoyed today's card and that you stopped by the SS Inkspiration Blog to see all the projects that the other ladies shared. Have a great day, Tonya

Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop

Thank you so much for joining us for the September Stylin’ Stampin’ Squad Blog Hop! This month we are focusing on the tools of the stampin’ trade. Specifically, each of our favorite stamping tools. It’s amazing the kinds of tools that have been created to help us along in our paper-crafting addictions. This month’s blog hop will showcase many of the Stampin’ Up! tools that are now available to us in the 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Holiday Catalog and even a couple of products that are so new they aren’t in either catalog. We hope you enjoy seeing how we use the old and new tools and are inspired to come up with some great projects of your own.
You should have just left stop number 2 on the Stylin’ Stampin’ Squad blog hop – Pam S. Blog Stampin' in the Sun!  If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn’t work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.
I have one tool that I just can't do without in my stamping and that is the Big Shot. Of course I need ink, card stock and stamps but the Big Shot is never far from me when I am crafting and I use it for almost every project. Today I wanted to share a couple of Bigz Dies with you that are fun and great to have in your crafting area. My first project is a card that would work for an Anniversary or just to tell that special someone you are thinking of them. I love the Crazy, Mixed-Up Love Stamp Set and the retro look of the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack just seemed to go with the Lava Lamp. I kept the layout simple and the four smaller circles are all cut from the Circles  #2  Originals Die. You can cut all four at the same time and make for a quick card. I added texture to the Coastal Cabana and Island Indigo Circles with the Big Shot and the Chevron and Argyle Embossing Folders. The Smoky Slate background has been texturized with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. The Lava Lamp and sentiment are inked up with the Smoky Slate, Island Indigo and Coastal Cabana Stampin' Write Markers. Since this might be used as an anniversary card I added some bling behind the lava lamp circle with the Silver Glimmer Paper. It adds just the right amount of sparkle to this card.
For my second project I wanted to make a gift box that you could put a little something in. We have a couple of birthday's this month and what a great way to give the gift than in our Decorative Window Gift Box. For this one I added a bow that was made with our new Gift Bow Bigz L Die and the Big Shot. I made the bow out of our Quarterfancy Specialty Designer Series Paper and used Sticky Strip to adhere it together and to the box. The Gift Box Die makes is quick and easy to add bows to your packages as well as cards. I was lucky and won it at Convention. While I had the die out an decided to make another items with it which is project number 3.

I thought I would try and make a flower out the the Gift Bow Die and since I had some orange felt leftover from another project and decided to use it. I cut three of the full bows and four of the half bows then cut each of the loops down the middle and on each side to give you four sections on each loop. I then hot glued it together and added a covered button to the center. I think it turned out cute and can't wait to try it again with Designer Series Paper.

A Birthday To Remember

Good morning and welcome. Sorry I didn't get the chance to post yesterday. Time just got away from me and then the day was done. I do have a card to share with you today and tomorrow I will have two as it is Blog Hop Time again and we will be sharing our Favorite tools with you as well as a Pattern Frenzy. It should be a fun hop. The card for today is a Birthday Card that I made for our middle son who just turned 12. He is a sport loving kid and I thought the Great Sport Stamp Set would be a good starting set. I also used the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set as well as the Label Love Stamp Set for the Happy Birthday. I used Pacific Point, Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Old Olive for Card stock and the same for ink pads minus the Whisper White. Most of the stamping is random except the Happy Birthday which a inked up a part of the stamp with the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get is center just where I wanted it in the circle. I just recently got the Deco Labels Framelits set but I must say I have been using them quite a bit and it is great for the Great Sports Set. The Old Olive Layer has some extra texture with the Big Shot and the Argyle Embossing folder. Jacob seemed to enjoy it and since I rarely share a picture of my kids I thought I would add one of our Birthday boy with his cake. He requested a Cookies and Cream Cake so that is what he got. I enjoy baking and trying new ideas and this one was a hit. Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful day. Tonya

September Card Sketch

Hello and welcome to our Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration September Card Sketch Challenge. If you travel over to our Blog you can see all the cards created with this sketch and you can create your own and link it so we can all see it too. I can't wait to see what you create and do hope you play along. We would love to have you join us. I am super happy with the way this card turned out and really like having a sketch to work with from time to time. The colors I used are Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, and Pistachio Pudding. I did all my stamping on Very Vanilla. The Crisp Cantaloupe background piece is texturized with the new Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the Holiday Catalog. I used the Paper Doily Sizzlits for the circle portion of the sketch and then I used the Six Sided Sampler Stamp Set and the Hexagon Punch (which you can get in a bundle) to add the hexagons. I stuck really close to the sketch but I can see myself using it again and changing it up just a it. To add just a bit more to the card I added the Birthday wish which is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and a Very Vintage Designer Button with some Whisper white Baker's Twine that I distressed. I hope you enjoyed today's card and are inspired to create today. Thanks for stopping by and please take a moment to leave me a comment so I know that you were here. We love to hear from our viewers. Have a great day, Tonya

Let the Christmas Cards Begin...

Good evening, I about didn't get a chance to post today but fear not I have a card for you. This card has actually been on my list to post for a while but I didn't want to start the Christmas cards to soon. I made this card as a swap for Convention clear back in July. I hope I remember everything I used. The base is Cherry Cobbler with Gumball Green as the background I used the Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder to give the Gumball Green Card Stock some texture. I love the new Ruffled Stretch Ribbon in the In Colors and just has to use the Baked Brown Sugar with the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack. The Stamp Sets are Ornament Keepsakes and the Petite Pairs and I used both the Ornament Keepsakes Framelits Set and the Bitty Banners Framelits. The ornaments are hung with Whisper White Baker's Twine and I added just one Basic Pearl to finish off the card. This card goes together quickly with the use of the Framelits and it can easily be your Christmas Card and will be one of the cards we make this month at my upcoming Christmas Card Class. RSVP if you would like to attend. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget that you can pin my cards or look for me on Pinterest if you want to see more of my creations. Tonya

Another Grunge Birthday Card

It is a very important day at our house. Our middle son is turning 12 today and while this isn't his birthday card it is a great card to send to a special guy in our life. The card is one of the ones we made at the Birthday Card Class I recently held and it goes together pretty quickly. I used Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso and Cajun Craze. The stamp sets are Gorgeous Grunge and Yippee-Skippee. I used just a bit of Twine around the main panel. You don't want ribbon for the guy in your life but the twine works well and that is it. You can add as much stamping as you want or as little to get the look you are trying to achieve. I will be back tomorrow with a new card that I have to share and I am going to start some new 3D Projects soon so watch for those. Thanks for stopping by and as always have a great day! Tonya

White Washed Butterfly

Hello and welcome back. I hope you stopped by yesterday to see the Color Challenge Card I shared with you but if not just scroll down and take a peak. I was going to use this card for the color challenge then changed my mind so I thought I would share it today. The colors are once again Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Basic Gray. I decided to try the White Washing Technique on Basic Gray Card Stock instead of the lighter Crumb Cake or Sahara Sand. I used the Swallowtail Stamp and the sentiment is from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set that I had out from a previous class. The butterfly is embossed with the Whisper White Embossing Powder and the Heat Gun then I used the Whisper White Craft Ink to color in the gray area before letting it dry and recoloring it with the Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry Ink. I sponged just a bit of Whisper White Craft Ink around the edges of the Basic Gray just to soften it a bit and added the sentiment with Dimensionals. The Rhinestones add just a bit of bling and help finish off this simple card. If you have any questions about this card or any of my cards please don't hesitate to ask. I am always happy to help. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Tonya

Butterfly Thank you, Color Challenge

Hello and welcome to our Color Challenge. I am thrilled to be able to participate and hope you will too. You can link your color challenge cards to our Blog also just check out the main blog to find out more about it. The colors for today are Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Basic Gray. I have just recently received the new Another Thank You Photopolymer Stamp Set and decided to try it out for a quick and fun Thank you card. I also thought I would add the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and the Bitty Butterfly Punch which are on special this month. I stamped the thank you in Crushed Curry and then added Two Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds for some sparkle and shine. Then the butterflies were added I did add the Elegant Butterfly Punch to the mix too so if you order the special this month you should add that punch to your list also. The smaller butterfly on the upper part of the card needed just a bit more so I used the Paper Piercing Tool and adding a flight trail. Other than that the card is pretty simple and easy to make a lot off if you need Thank you Notes to give out. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day! Tonya
