Inspired by ...

hmm, I can't image what this card was inspired by can you. :) After making the coaster that I posted yesterday I got to thinking about using the same idea on a card. This is a smaller scale but still the same idea. I used Crumb Cake Card Stock and stamped with Merry Christmas from All Holiday's in Early Espresso. Then I used the new Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die and the Big Shot to cut out the smaller Scallop Square. I made tree just like yesterday with the Pennant Die and added Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon for the tree trunk. I added a Crumb Cake Big Designer Button to the top that was attached with Mini Glue Dots. I attached all the fabric with a Glue Stick but could have used the Big Shot MultiPurpose Adhesive Sheets. To finish off the card I sponged the edges with Early Espresso. Simple yet fun with the fabric. If I could find my Linen Thread (must be time to order more so the old will show up) I would have stitched the edges of my square and tree before attaching them to the front of the card for a little extra detail. Christmas Tree Coaster

Hello, I know that I have mentioned that Stampin'Up! is now selling Designer Series Fabric but did I mention that each package of Fabric comes with directions for five projects. Well, if I didn't they do and it does. :) Today I thought I would share on of those projects with you. This one was super quick to make and required no sewing machine. The project name is Scalloped Square Coaster, but after making it I think I am going to add some ribbon to the back and make it a Christmas Ornament. Can't you just see this hanging on a tree with other handmade ornaments. The supplies you need are all listed in the Project Guide as well as step by step instructions. Blessings of Christmas

Hello again, I know two post in one day what is going on. Well, I had another card to share and decided why wait. This is a stamp set I almost didn't buy. I really didn't think I need another stamp set that featured Jesus, Mary and Joseph. I have two already but they have both retired and after receiving a swap with this set I quickly added it to my next order and the best part is that it is only $13.95 if you get it in the Clear Mount Option. Really why would I resist. :) Now I did do a slight modification on this set in that I cut the Christmas Blessings apart from the Main Image. I can still use them together if I want to but I can also use them apart like I did here. This card was inspired by the swap I received which was made by Teresa Giordano. I made quite a few changes but the general idea came from her card. I used Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, So Saffron and Very Vanilla for my Card Stock and the Marina Mist Classic Stamp Pad to stamp the images. I did use a few punches including the Modern Label Punch, Scallop Trim Corner Punch and the Scallop Edge Border Punch. The larger Modern Label is made with the Movers and Shapers Dies and the Big Shot. I also used the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Embossing Folder to add an extra texture to the Crumb Cake Card Stock. The Marina Mist on the side of the card was made to look like Faux Suede by separating the card stock and reveling the inside. I added the sentiment by wrapping some Linen Thread around the card. All supplies are from Stampin'Up! and can be purchased from me if you would like to make this your Christmas Card. Christmas Package Card

Good morning, now that it is getting colder (I know some of you might say it is getting cooler but for me it is officially cold. :) I have started to think about Christmas and while I was going through some pictures I came across this card from a swap that I recently participated in. I love the fun colors in the Candy Cane Designer Series Paper. Not your traditional Christmas colors but wow are they fun. I used Blushing Bride as my card base, then layered the Candy Cane DSP. I used the new Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die and the Big Shot to make the cute ric rac out of Real Red Card Stock. Then I made a Tag out of the new Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die and Garden Green Card Stock. The cute little snowman is from the A Cute Christmas Stamp Set. He was stamped with Jet Black Stazon then colored with our Stampin' Write Markers. I used 2 way glue and added just a touch of Dazzling Diamonds along the snow for extra sparkle. Then to finish the card I used Baja Breeze Card Stock and made a snowflake using the new Northern Frost Decorative Strip and the Big Shot. I spritzed the Snowflake with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz and added a Basic Rhinestone Jewel to the center of the snowflake. Christmas Goodie Jar

Good morning it is Monday! I have a quick post for you of a 3D project that I made last night. It all started with a pasta jar from a pasta dinner that we hosted for the cross country team. I really liked the size and shape of the jar. It isn't a traditional round jar but is squared on the edges. The lid was gold so I spray painted it white and then stared decorating the jar. The Designer Series Paper is Candy Cane and the strip is just perfect for the jar. I added some 2way glue and Dazzling Diamonds to the top of each package and added a strip of Real Red Card Stock to the top and bottom that was punched out with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch. I attached the band to the jar with Sticky Strip and then made a tag. I used the new A Cute Christmas Stamp Set and stamped with Real Red Classic Ink. I used the new Decorative Label Punch to punch out my tag and used two more of the labels to layer behind my Whisper White label. I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the top of the package and attached my tag to the jar with the new Clear Tinsel Trim. Right now I have the Candy Cane Big Designer Buttons in my jar but wouldn't it be perfect to fill with a cookie mix or other treat to give to a neighbor, teacher or friend. Elements of Pink

Going through more blog archives and I came across this card that I didn't post or at least I don't think I did. So I thought I would share since I didn't get any pictures taken of the project I completed today. I will share it tomorrow. This is one of my favorite stamp sets and is a great set to own for so many reasons. For this card I used Pretty in Pink and stamped the floral image on the background. Then I used the Scallop Oval Frame and the Big Shot and cut out one Whisper White and one Pretty in Pink Scallop Oval and frame. I used the Square Lattice Embossing Folder on the Whisper White Layer and used Versamark and White Embossing Powder to stamp the floral image in the center of the Oval. I did a little sponging to highlight the flowers and finished the card off with a little Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon and the sentiment. If you have this set and haven't used it recently why not pull it and make a new card to send to someone special today. Convention Quilt

What have I been working on for the past three days? Well, this is it, it is not finished yet but I am at a stopping point for now. Remember back before Convention I was going to participate in a Quilt Block Swap? Well, I was a little unsure how I would make my quilt. I didn't know if I "could" work all the different colored blocks together. I am a matching kind of person, slight shade differences bother me. So after I looked through my quilt blocks I set them aside and thought someday I will give it a try. Well, two months past and I still had not found the motivation until the other day. I was blog surfing as I sometimes do and I came across a new blog and what did I find but a completed quilt from the swap blocks. It inspired me to pull mine out and give finishing this project a try. I laid out the blocks and played with different positions and combos before finally settling on this one. It isn't as big as I had anticipated because I didn't use any duplicate prints and I had a few extra that didn't get used just because I didn't have enough for another row but I do think it will make a great throw size for curling up under during the winter months. The blocks are super quick to make with the Big Shot and the Flower Bigz Clear Die. You can cut 8 pieces of fabric at once! The blocks are 8x8 squares for a size reference. Now i just need to decide if I am quilting and finishing it myself or having someone else do it for me. I really want to try and do it myself but am worried about how much time it might take. If I do quilt it myself do I machine quilt it or hand quilt it? So many decisions to make. Message Board

Good morning, I was going to post this yesterday but I got busy with a school project that I am thrilled to have done and I worked on a sewing project that I hope to be able to share with you soon. If not the completed project at least a little more about. This is a project that has been on my to do list for quite a while. Shelli, cofounder of Stampin'Up!) posted message boards similar to this one on her blog quite a while ago. So long ago that I can't find the example to link to. This is a simple message board that is made of a sheet of metal that is commonly used for roofing projects. I picked up a whole roll at my favorite home improvement store. You know the one that my hubby works at. ;) The metal is just over 10" so I cut it into a square and cut 10" from the roll. I have quite a bit let and will be making more this was just my first attempt. After cutting it I used a 12 x12 sheet of Designer Series Paper. This sheet is retired, didn't want to mess up a current sheet if I didn't like the project. Then I used the Crop-a-dile and punched two holes at the top and added the Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon. I made magnets for the board with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and the Big Shot. I used Rich Razzleberry Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock and a piece of the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. I did stamp on the top butterfly on the right with the Fine Flourish Stamp and the Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink Pad. I attached small magnets to the back of the butterflies and the are ready. As I type I am coming up with so many more ideas for these boards. My oldest son wants to make a tic-tac-toe board or chess board. You could easily personalize the board with a name or initial. Holiday Mini Tree

Good morning, I am in the mood to stamp today so this post will be quick. In the Holiday Mini on the back cover there is a tree that was decorated with different circles of card stock, glitter and accessories. Well, I was inspired to make a tree of my own and this is the result. I used the 1" Circle Punch and punched circles out of Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler and the Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper. I attached them with straight pins and then started adding bling. I added Pearls, and Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Bows as well as Chantilly Crochet Trim Bows. I covered the whole tree with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz to give it a little sparkle. It was really quite easy to make and I am thinking a whole forest of these would look quite nice as a centerpiece or mantle decoration. You could use any colors of paper to match your decor. Artistic Etchings

I didn't get any project completed today so I was going back through cards that I haven't posted yet and came across this one. I think I did post a card similar but without the inside. I really like this stamp set and should get it out to use again soon. :) The set is Artistic Etchings and the colors I used are Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla. I also used Crumb Cake Ink. The inside was really easy to do and I love how well the Scallop Edge Punch coordinates with the stamp set. I used the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Embossing Folder and it really pops on the Basic Black Cards Stock. I little Very Vanilla and Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon and the card is complete. This card would be a quick and easy card to make and would look just as nice without the embossing. I am off to do some stamping and listen to it rain. Hope to have new pictures to share tomorrow. Little Miss Witch

Happy Monday! What a fun filled weekend we had. It was jam packed with activities and no stamping went on at my house. :( So today I will share with you another project that we did at Stamp Club last week. I know I have mentioned it before but this is one of my favorite stamp sets in the catalog and I just had to share it with my Stamp Club ladies. For this card we watercolored with Blender Pens and Classic Ink. We also used Watercolor Paper. The other supplies used are:
Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry Card Stock, Pumpkin Pie 1 1/4" Striped Gorsgrain Ribbon, Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Craze, Basic Black, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Blushing Bride and Blush Blossom Stampin' Write Markers, Blender Pen, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Modern Label Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Black Flourish Designer Jewels, Scallop Circle #2 Bigz Die, Jet Black Stazon, Whisper White Craft Ink, Sponge, and All Holidays Stamp Set. All of the embossed areas were sponged with the Whisper White Craft Ink to accent the embossing. Doesn't she look like she is ready to Halloween all though she doesn't look like she is going to scare anyone. :) Well, that's it for today. Autumn Splendor

Hello, it is finally Friday not that the week went by slowly and we have a super busy fun filled weekend ahead of us. So I thought I had better share another Club card with you before things got to busy. This card uses the Faux Mother of Pearl Technique that I learned about from a Convention Swap that I was in. (Thanks, Sarah for asking me to join) Well, my club ladies loved the swap card and requested that they learn how to do the technique and since I am always happy to help, this month they learned how to do Faux Mother of Pearl. It really isn't as hard as it might seem and the results are WOW. We used two stamp sets, Autumn Splendor and All Holidays. Both are only available in Wood Mount as they have been in the catalog for a little while. You might even have them in your supplies. The card stock that we used is Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and Glossy White. We used Linen Thread, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, Gold Embossing Powder, Blender Pen and the Jewelry Tag Punch. For ink colors they are similar to the card stock in that we used Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and Versamark for embossing. I highly recommend that you have the Embossing Buddy for this technique and that you use it quite freely to remove any excess moisture from the Glossy White Card Stock. There is a wonderful tutorial that you can find here Just substitute the Shimmer Paint for the paint they use. Fang-tastic

Hello! I hope you are enjoying the Halloween projects this week. This is one of the cards that we made Friday night at Patti's workshop. It is a basic layout that I cased from a swap card I recently received. I really like the Spider Web Impressions Folder and on this card we accented it with the Frost White Shimmer Paint. I used a sponge dauber to apply the Shimmer Paint. The Designer Series Paper is Nite Owl and is in the Holiday Mini. The cute little Vampire is from the Fang-tastic Stamp Set and is available in Clear Mount or Wood Mount. We used Jet Black Stazon, then colored the vampire and bat in with the Blender Pen and Stampin' Write Markers in Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Basic Black, and Basic Gray. I layer of Cajun Craze adds a little more color behind the main image. We used the new Black Waffle Paper and the Decorative Label Punch to accent the sentiment that was punched out with the 1 3/4x 7/8" Oval Punch. To punch out the Waffle Paper you first need to add some support so just SNAIL it to a piece of card stock then punch out. I used Basic Black to match the Waffle Paper. You can also use it to add a ruffle to your cards, I will share one of those another day. Well, I am off busy day with lots going on at our house. Halloween Greetings!

Good morning, time for another sneak peak and a fun Halloween Card. Now when the new catalog came out I knew I would have to buy the Greeting Card Kids Stamp Set. I love the images and since watercoloring is so much fun I just couldn't resist. I have used all the images and they are all great. This little girl is so cute sitting on her pumpkin. I used watercolor crayons and a blender pen to color her. I used Whisper White Card Stock for her base and punched her out with the new 2 1/2" Circle Punch. I love this punch and it is perfect for all the stamps in this set. I added a Eyelet Border Edge around the circle made from Pumpkin Pie Card Stock. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black Stazon then punched out with the Modern Label Punch and then layered on Perfect Plum Card Stock that was cut out with the Big Shot and the Movers and Shapers Die. I added one of the new Glitter Brads in Basic Black to the edge of the sentiment for extra bling. The base of the card is just Basic Black Card Stock that I have added the Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and Vanilla Smooch Spritz for more sparkle and bling. Really not a hard card to make and if you like to color then this stamp set is a must (in my opinion). I am off to work on our school directory and do some laundry. We are supposed to have three baseball games tonight but they are calling for rain. I figure if I wash the uniform we won't play and if I don't we will. That is just how it works around our house. Wicked Halloween

Everytime I see this stamp set I think of Wicked the wonderful Broadway Musical that my daughter and I had the opportunity to see last winter while in New York. I loved it and I am falling in love with this stamp set. I didn't think I needed it but now that I have it I am seeing so many possiblities.This is one of the cards that I made thinking I would use for Patti's workshop but I ended up modifying it just a little bit. I used several new items on this card and I love the combo of colors. I used Old Olive, Cajun Craze, and Rich Razzleberry Card Stock which are also in the Wicked Fun Specialty Designer Series Paper. The Rich Razzleberry Card Stock was texturized with the Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and then I used the Distressing Kit to add some highlights to the web. There are webs stamped across the top of the Old Olive Card Stock. The rest of the images were stamped with Jet Black Stazon. This is my go to Black ink for watercoloring and so much more. I used the Cajun Craze and Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Markers to add some color after stamping the images. I used several punches including the new 3/4" x 15/16" Oval Punch, the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch and the 1 3/8" Circle Punch. I little Raven 1/2" Lace Trim that makes me think of a black petticoat that the witch might wear and this card is finished. I have several more projects to share with you and hopefully will have some time tomorrow to type up another post. We had Stamp Club tonight and I have those projects to share as well. Halloween Door Prize

Hello, I had a great time Friday night at Patti's workshop and I hope the ladies did too! We made three projects including two Halloween Cards and a Treat Container. For the door prize I decided to keep it Halloween in theme and since I had not used the new Spooky Things Decor Elements I decided to use them and the Wicked Fun Specialty Designer Series Paper. I had a black 5x7" Frame in my stash of items to alter and I was ready to go. I cut the Old Olive with Basic Black PolkaDots to fit the 5x7 frame and added a Oval that was cut with the Frame, Oval Scallop Big Shot Die out of Tangerine Tango Card Stock texturized with the Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used the Distressing Kit and added some accent to the Spider Web. I also added a strip of Basic Black Card Stock that was punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. To the outside of the glass I added the Oct 31 and them punched out four bats out of Basic Black Card Stock with the Bitty Bat Punch. I added Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz to the bats to add a little shimmer and attached them with Mini Glue Dots. I still have plenty of Decor Elements Pieces left and am looking for projects to use them on, so be sure and check back again to see what I make next. Fabric Fun!

Hello! The week is slipping away and I am not finding time to share with you all the fun projects that I have been creating. The other day I mentioned that Stampin'Up! has FABRIC! Yes, I am excited and I finally was able to cut mine. I really do love it and am super impressed with the quality of the fabric. So a while back my Sister-in-law brought me this cute Candle bowls that were used at my little brother's wedding and wondered if I had a use for them. Well at the time I didn't but I thought I would someday find a something to do with them. Well, that some day is now. Check out the new and improved Candle holder. This project took just a few supplies and I think it turned out really nice. Now to find a candle to go in it. The best part is because there are just snowflakes this bowl can be used all winter long. Maybe I will make it a candy dish instead and fill it with Peppermints. Hmm, well anyway on to the supplies. I used the new Northern Frost Decorative Strip and the Big Shot to cut the snowflakes out of the Real Red Decor Elements Sheets. I added a couple of Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the center of the snowflakes just for added detail and then I made a bow out of the Candy Cane Christmas Designer Fabric. I added a Real Red button from the new Big Designer Series Candy Cane Buttons and then tied it on with Baja Breeze 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. Now you might be asking but Tonya we don't carry Baja Breeze in the Taffeta Ribbon? You are correct we don't but you can die your own with a Reinker, Water and the Whisper White 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. It is really easy to do and the results are fantastic. Are you ready to get your hands on some of our new Designer Series Fabric? I am going to make a flower or two next but first I need to finish preparing for Patti's Workshop which is tomorrow night. Bugs Bunny Birthday

Wow, I sure didn't plan on going this long without posting on my blog. Our life has been busy this past weekend and I took some time away from my stamping to enjoy the weekend with our family. We had a birthday this weekend and my daughter's first Cross Country Meet. Of course there was everyday things to like laundry and cleaning but we had a fun weekend and it was a little difficult to get myself moving this morning for school. Today the card I am sharing with you is not my own. It was CASE'd at my request by my wonderful son for his younger brother's birthday. My middle son had requested a Bugs Bunny Cake for his birthday this week and since I had the cake pan I was happy to meet his request. There is a picture below of him and his Bugs Cake and since he thought Bugs was great for his cake I thought why not a matching card. I knew I had saw a card that would be perfect on a blog but of course where is the question well a quick google search and I had my card. The super talented Ellen Kemper had created the perfect Bugs Bunny. So he got started and pulled out almost all my punches and started creating. He used Ellen's design almost exactly except he decided that Bugs needed Whiskers and he added those also with punches. We added the Happy Birthday that was inked with the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and the punched out with the Curly Label Punch. Needless to say the card and the cake were a hit with the birthday boy and I am super proud of my oldest son for making the card. He really does know what he is doing when it comes to card making he would just prefer that the world not know. Oh, well, he will just have to live with his proud mom. I hope you had a great weekend. Christmas Time!

Wow I have no idea where yesterday went. Well, I do but I didn't find enough time to get back and post a card for you like I had planned. Sorry about that. I do have one for you today. I recently participated in a Holiday Mini Swap and since I received my cards yesterday I am going to post one of the cards that I sent for the swap today. One of the requirements was to use a new stamp set from the Holiday Mini and if possible other items well, let me tell you I went Holiday Mini crazy on this card. I used six of the new items on this one card. I just couldn't resist playing with the new items and guess what I love them all! There are so many must haves in the new mini that I would recommend you book a party for you and your friends so that you can earn them free. Now to tell you about the card. The stamp set is A Cute Christmas and I just love the little snowman. I colored him with the Stampin' Write Markers after stamping him with Jet Black Stazon. The marker colors are Real Red, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride, and Garden Green which are also the colors in the new Candy Cane Lane Specialty Designer Series Paper which I also used on the card. If you look the Real Red stripe is glittery, that is already in the paper. It is also one of the fabric prints but I will save that for another day. I added a little Dazzling Diamonds to the snow with 2 way Glue. The base is Blushing Bride and I use the new Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder in it to add the snowflakes. The large Real Red Scallops were made with the new Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die and Real Red Card Stock and the final touch is the snowflakes made with Baja Breeze Card Stock and the new Northern Frost Decorative Strip. I did use the Shimmer Smooch on the cards I swapped but didn't think about it until after I assembled this one. I added a Rhinestone Jewel in the center of the upper snowflake and the sentiment in the lower. The sentiment was punched out with the new 3/4"x15/16" Oval Punch. There is a lot more new things in the Holiday Mini and I will share more with you as the month progresses but be sure and take a look yourself and let me know what item you like the best.
